I traveled to this resort on a solo trip in April and was pleasantly surprised with some aspects, disappointed with others. The Good: 1) The staff! They are incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and good at what they do. My drinks were always yummy, my room was always clean, and they were always willing to help set up rides or anything else when needed. The kitchen staff was even willing to make a soup that I bought when I was sick one day. 2) A/C in the room is a major plus. 3) The "beach bar," which is really a deck bar, always had good drinks and was generally the best place for lunch and dinner. 4) Breakfast included. You get one of three choices: a fruit bowl, an egg plate, or pancakes, plus either coffee or juice. I would have loved tea as I'm not a coffee drinker but they didn't have it. The Okay: 1) The shower had fairly hot water on a regular basis. The water pressure, however, was pretty nonexistent. 2) The food. As a vegetarian I had several options which was nice. I found the food generally okay but obviously didn't get to try a lot of the menu due to my dietary experiences. It generally made sense to eat on the deck, even when it was very windy outside, because aside from breakfast the dining room was generally completely empty. The Not So Good: 1) Location. This resort is far from town and therefore I had to take a tuk-tuk (about $4 one way) every time I went to town (which I did for diving and often for dinner). I do recommend tuk-tuk #13 - Chover was very reliable and I used him throughout my stay. 2) Because of the location, the deck and pool are mostly filled with locals. Not a bad thing necessarily as I found them all very respectful and kind but it does make for a different vibe. As a pretty social solo traveler I wasn't necessarily making friends as there were very few tourists when I was there and the locals mostly know each other and keep to themselves. 3) This is not a "beach resort." There is a small area with sand that had one chair on it, but you can't enter the water from that area. Most people hung out on the deck. The deck had very hard wooden chairs (necessary due to the wind but covers would be nice) and three day beds. The covers on the day beds were dirty and torn but I was told they were in the process of being replaced. I used a dive shop in town (Alton's) so cannot speak to the dive shop associated with the resort. I also did not do the all-inclusive because it was nice to have lunch and sometimes dinner in town (highly recommend Mango Tango for dinner one night, which is outside of town so actually walkable from this resort). Take a water ferry and go to Neptune's one day. It is a nice beach with a fun beach bar.
