4-Sterne-Hotels in Funchal

The location, the setting, the facilities and cleanliness is pretty good. The issue is with their service. We tried calling the reception during the working hours and there was no answer. They also did not call us back. If we are lucky, we will see a staff and get some assistance. It is important to have a car of your own otherwise it is difficult to get around in the resort. The total that the hotel charged is way more than what was shown in trip website. Even if I include the city tax it was still high. It is important to give a clear picture of the total amount of the booking. Just to put it in context, there was almost Euro 150 difference between what was shown in Trip website and the final amount that I paid to the hotel. This is a shocker for me. And of course it is not what I want to have a first experience of using Trip website. This needs to be looked into.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Baia Azul wirklich genossen. Dieses Hotel hat alles! Herrliche Aussicht vom Loungebereich, eine schöne Bar mit Unterhaltung am Abend, exzellenter Service, schöne, komfortable Zimmer und ein sehr schöner Poolbereich. Wir können nichts bemängeln! Das Frühstück war auch wunderbar. Würde auf jeden Fall wieder hier übernachten!

The staff is friendly, the room is a good size and everything was clean. The room has a mini fridge, slippers and robes. They also provide pool towels. There is a cleaning service everyday and they change all the towels, including the ones for the pool. The bed was not the best as it was quite hard and had a spring mattress. We enjoyed the indoor pool, the jacuzzi and sauna. We haven't tried the outdoor pool as we only spent time there in the evenings. The breakfast was good. I'd come back as it was a nice experience overall.

Tolle Lage im Verhältnis zu Funchal. Schönes Zimmer, etwas altmodisch. Da wir schon einmal hier waren, konnten wir zwar feststellen, dass das Hotel renoviert wurde, aber nicht wirklich eine ansprechende Atmosphäre hatte. Der Teppichboden wurde durch kaltes Segeltuch ersetzt. Überall weißes Licht, auch in den Zimmern fehlt es an Atmosphäre. Das Frühstück ist jeden Morgen das Gleiche, ebenso wie das Personal, das meist miteinander statt mit den Gästen beschäftigt ist.  In der Umgebung des Hotels riecht es oft nach Abwasser.  Die Lage und die Aussicht haben uns sehr gefallen, ansonsten lässt es aber zu wünschen übrig. 

We stayed in the hotel with group of friends. The experience was really nice — rooms are clean and design are interesting and cozy. You will have breakfast in the other hotel next door and it’s delicious. Also you can use territory of other hotel — there are really nice lounge zone, pool and sea-view. We enjoyed. Only one thing was disturbing — if you want to sleep with open windows it can be really noisy. Because of the buses (going from early morning) and loud people (who were singing and screaming drunk). But if you close the window everything is perfect. Thanks

Ich übernachtete in einem Hotel in Cristiano Ronaldos Heimatstadt, um sie vor meiner Abreise aus Portugal noch einmal von meiner Liste abzuhaken. Ich hatte einen Flug mit einer Billigfluggesellschaft gebucht, was nicht gerade günstig war, aber der Flughafenbus war bei der Ankunft sehr praktisch. Das Hotel selbst hatte nur etwa vier Sterne, was seiner Selbsteinschätzung entsprach; ohne besondere Sentimentalität war es einfach durchschnittlich.

Я выбирала отель с видом на океан по доступной цене. В итоге, нашелся отель с очень просторными номерами, панорамным окном, кофе/чай, удобной ванной комнатой с биде, большим балконом. Единственные моменты: раздельная кровать для пары и слабоватый душ. Шум ночных волн на любителя:) Нам пришлось закрывать дверь на балкон, хотя и так было довольно шумно. Сервис очень дружелюбный.  Завтрак вкусный и свежий. Много выпечки, напитки, нарезки и горячее.  Не ожидала, что будет бесплатный трансфер до центра и обратно. Абсолютный плюс этого отеля, потому что находится он не в шаговой доступности от центра.  Виды, чистота возле отеля, свой пляж - это потрясающе.  Далее мы проживали в частном секторе и много что посмотрели на острове, но первые две ночи в Orca Praia остались в нашем сердечке💘 С уважением,  Елена из России

A experiência no Pestana Ocean Bay foi bastante agradável, os colaboradores foram sempre muito simpáticos e atenciosos, ajudaram sempre que foi necessário, têm sem dúvida uma equipa preocupada com o hóspede, atenta, empática, senti-me muito bem recebida… num questionário que respondi a meio da estadia, mencionei que nos buffets poderia haver uvas (isto porque a minha filha gosta muito, e as uvas eram uma fruta que ainda não tinha surgido), fiz essa observação pensando que nem ia ser lida, no entanto, no dia seguinte ao chegar ao quarto tínhamos um belo prato de uvas, nesse momento, sentimo-nos acarinhadas como se estivéssemos em casa, foi um gesto de cuidado que nos deixou sensibilizadas, estão de parabéns por isso e por, efetivamente, lerem os questionários, que muitas vezes achamos que ninguém vai ler e importarem-se com o que lá se escreve. Têm uma boa organização, apresentação e logística de tudo o que envolve uma estadia: refeições, animação ao fim do dia, saídas/passeios, etc. Continuação de um trabalho de excelência ☺️ obrigada.

Pobyt w hotelu byl cudownym doświadczeniem. Mieszkaliśmy w bloku C, przy samym oceanie, widoki obłędne. Hotel bardzo czysty. Zarówno śniadania, jak i obiadokolację, bardzo dobre. Szeroki wybór i bardzo dużo jedzenia, codziennie coś nowego. Każdemu polecę ten hotel, a jeżeli będę jeszcze raz na Maderze to zatrzymam się tam ponownie.

Das Zimmer hat einen Balkon und ist mit Wasserkocher, Kaffee- und Teezubehör, Stühlen, einem Tisch und einem kostenpflichtigen Minikühlschrank ausgestattet. Auf dem Tisch standen Willkommenswasser, Chips und Whiskey, die anscheinend kostenlos waren. Das Hotel-WLAN schien nicht gut zu funktionieren, ich habe immer meine eigene Vodafone-SIM-Karte für mobiles Internet genutzt. Die Lage des Hotels ist recht praktisch, nur wenige Gehminuten vom Strand entfernt, allerdings ist der Strand selbst nicht so toll.
