I had a beautiful big, quiet room with doors opening to a balcony facing the old, walled city. I also had other windows that opened on that wall + on the adjacent room & bathroom. There was another divan type bed - which I used to open my bags. Abir, Alessandro & Michelle looked after me very warmly - from reception to breakfast & a drink served on the rooftop terrace. I stayed a very happy 4 nights. It was an easy walk downhill to the old city & meeting point for tours. There's no lift, so if you you have trouble with stairs you're out of luck (unless there are ground floor rooms). If you're on the larger side you may find the shower cubicle small, however the bathroom, as is the rest of the room, was very well appointed. The location was in a quiet residential neighborhood but close enough to the action of the old city which is bursting with interesting museums, restaurants, shops etc.

This is a beautiful hotel above the center city, so it is a fair walk downhill to get into the center (about 10-15 minutes). The upper rooms with a city view are spectacular! Wonderful beds, very helpful front staff who speak multiple languages. Breakfast in the lobby or in the garden offers varied choices and great coffee. The downstairs room in the annex building does not have any windows, just a door leading to the garden. In Room 2, downstairs in the main building, the door to the bathroom only opens part way because it scrapes against the floor. This is an easy fix -- it just needs to be shaved down. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is fit enough to walk up and down the multiple hills and staircases of central Siena!

I’m conflicted on my opinion for this property so I’ll give the good and bad. The location and proximity to Siena is very good. It’s about a 20 minute walk into town through a very upscale neighborhood. The room was ample size and the breakfasts were adequate as was the service. However, the shower was so small that you could barely turn around, and our room was up three flights of stairs making lugging our luggage up very difficult (no elevator or porters). I doubt I would select this property for our next Siena visit.

Lovely staff, great location (10 min walk into Siena). We had a city view room which was incredible, the view from our room but also the roof terrace is almost worth coming here alone. Staff were really friendly and helpful, breakfast is good but basic enough. There’s plenty of options in town though anyway. Would stay again

A fab little hotel in a great location. Very friendly and professional staff who spoke excellent English. Room was lovely, had all we needed with a lovely view of Siena. A pleasant 15 minute walk has you in the historic center. Breakfast was lovely and enjoyed in the garden. Bed extremely comfortable - I would return!

This hotel is the perfect place to stay while in Siena! It is a beautiful, pristine classic building in walking distance from all major sites. However, it is just far enough off the town center that you don't get the noise. The breakfast is delicious and the staff make you feel like you are exactly where you belong. The rooftop deck has some of the best views in the city! The room we stayed in was a nice size and offered all the personal luxuries we look for (air conditioning, comfortable bed, clean linens, a refrigerator, and a hair dryer for my wife)! If we are in Siena again we will stay here!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this little hotel. On our last day, when it was time to leave I wanted so much to absolutely refuse. We had such a wonderful time here. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and always a joy. We would take a bottle of wine up to the roof each evening to enjoy the stunning views and be thankful for that day's adventures. The room was gorgeous, spacious and had an incredible view of the doumo in Siena. We would leave the windows open to listen to the town as it slowly woke up each morning. We so loved staying here. Siena is a small town with much to do in and around it. This hotel alone would bring us back.

The hotel is an old mansion converted to a hotel and located just outside the old town. The location meant a 10 minute walk to get into the old town, but there were a lot of advantages being outside the old town, including the lovely accommodations (our room had a nice view of the old town on the hill) and relatively easy to reach the hotel or, as in our case, drive in and out as we toured other towns in the area. We had one of their deluxe rooms with balcony which was quite large with a separate entry room (although I saw some of the smaller rooms that looked like a postage stamp so be careful with choosing that for the price). It also had a small balcony you could step out on with the view of the town as I mentioned. The ceilings in our room where huge..must have been 15-20 feet high. Marble everywhere. The bathroom was reasonably large other than the shower..which as in many other converted hotels is like 2 feet by 2 feet. Not a lot of room for a bigger guy like me to move around…let alone bend over to pickup the soap, so keep that in mind. Bed was comfortable and the room had a nice desk with plugs available..as did each nightstand. They also have a nice garden, which I gather you can have breakfast in..except we had a bit of rain and it was a bit chilly in the morning so they served breakfast inside. The hotel website photos are indicative of the room we had and the hotel overall. We had reserved parking in advance..which was a good idea as they really only have one parking space. Breakfast buffet had a great selection of pastries, cakes, cheese, meat etc…just no hot food. Service..from the front desk staff to housekeeping..were all friendly, helpful and provided excellent service. Overall, I cannot think of any better hotel to choose when staying in Siena

The staff spoke English and were very helpful and friendly. The daily breakfast was included and yummy (fresh pastries, hard boiled eggs, ham and cheese, toast, juice and coffee options)! The superior room we booked was clean and quite spacious and had a stunning view of the Cathedral. The shower was tiny but functional and plenty of hot water. The location was amazing and within easy walking distance to everything and they have a rooftop where you can sit and watch the sunrise/sunset. The view from our room window was amazing. I would recommend to others.

This is a wonderful hotel in a quiet residential area about a 15 minute walk to Piazza del Campo. Very hard working and friendly staff. Our room was on the ground floor near reception but it was really quiet. The room itself was quite spacious, bright and clean. The rooftop terrace is a great feature, with a gorgeous view of the town (especially around sunset). Excellent breakfast too, with plenty of choice. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel bills itself as ‘boutique’. We had two rooms, and while one was adequate, but far from excellent, the other was horrid, with only one tiny, frosted window. To make matters worse, the furniture was rickety, one of the lights didn’t work, the shower didn’t drain, and the shower head didn’t stay in place. Needless to say, this room is not pictured on the hotel’s website. When we brought all of this up with the hotel reception, they did nothing. I could not possibly recommend this hotel.

First, I’ll mention the staff. They are fantastic- personable, efficient, friendly. Sara is extraordinary- she goes out of her way to make sure you are happy. They should all receive a raise for how well they treat the clientele. The rooftop is breathtaking, stay here just for that. There is no cover but you can buy some wine and go up there to enjoy the night view too. ( table and chairs up top and it’s always open. ) I never did get to have breakfast in the garden- but that add on is terrific if the weather cooperates. Your choices for breakfast are perfect, delicious croissants, cakes, rolls, sliced meats, fresh mozzarella, hard boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt, fruit - all fresh everyday plus delicious cappuccinos to start your day. They welcome you with Prosecco You have a mini fridge and electric kettle in your room There is parking on the street , you might have to drive around a bit but it never took too long to find a spot. The walk to the inner city is fine. We are both in our seventies and enjoyed it 15 minutes at most, safe area with lots of people walking too This hotel was just perfect for us. I doubt we will get back to Siena ( our bucket list is long and time is short) but if we ever do there is no where else We’d rather stay Thanks Sara for making it extra- special!

Our room was spacious, clean, and featured a nice view of the town in Siena. Villa Elda is located outside the town, but is a pleasant 15 minute walk from the main town square and less to other parts of the town. The staff is hesitant to complete ad hoc services, such as calling a taxi to pick us up from the train station upon our arrival or posting an item that we forgot in our room, which was frustrating at times and something we hope they will improve upon. That said, they gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and were very kind and hospitable.
