And do not forget only 20 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg and only 30 minutes from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. DRIVE:As with most cabins with a view, the cabin is located in the mountains. Parts of the drive will be curvy/winding and include a few steep/narrow portions. Take your time on the drive-up if you are not familiar with navigating mountain roads. We recommended getting to the cabin before dark on your first trip up the mountain. In the event of inclement weather (snow or ice), you will need 4WD (4-wheel drive), AWD (all-wheel drive) to get up to the cabin during the winter season.PARKING:Driveway parking for 2 mid-size vehicles. WILDLIFE:Since the cabin is located in the wilderness area, you will likely see and hear critters. As hard as we try to prevent pests with a comprehensive pest control process and monthly treatments, there may still be visits from our multi-legged friends in the cabin. Please help prevent it by closing entry doors when not in use. Lastly, it is not uncommon to encounter wildlife animals, such as bears while staying in cabins in the Smoky Mountains.
