Hotel Savoy Sestriere

Stayed with my adult daughter for a ski trip. Really convenient location, old fashioned Hotel made it feel like staying with family. The staff are outstanding, nothing is a problem for them. The food is very good too with plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend and return. Very good value for money.

Excellent food, excellent accommodation. Cleanliness top notch. Location is perfect for the slopes. Staff super attentive and friendly. This is a small boutique hotel that is used by a worldwide clientelle. Another faultless stay. Thankyou.

This Is a charming"old Fashioned" family run hotel with friendly helpful staff. the food is plentiful and if you don't like any of the many courses there is always an alternative the mushroom risotto for me being the highlight of the week. I am stressing the best aspect first because i am not here to denigrate but give an honest helpful review. Now onto the not so good there is a lift which is small and goes to some floors ? but not the top. the staircase which will you use mostly, (as the lift is more than a little lethargic) is a real conundrum and leads off into exciting little corridors and reminded me greatly of the drawings of Esher staircases (google it if you'll see) The rooms as befitting an old fashioned hotel are a little pokey but not unreasonable. the bathroom features a bidet but has a very small half round shower in the corner (beware those who are tall and portly) featuring on the inside what appears to be a blank for an electrical socket!!! I didn't pry or poke nor did i dare to allow the shower head to point in its direction and still lived to pen this review ?? There are extremely odd half round lamps on the small bed side tables that appear cut in half. The rooms were cleaned on a regular basis but the shower still featured a decorative orangey calcified motif on the shower door bottoms. The day we left i peered under the bed in case any small personal items fancied a longer stay and found a very large and potentially angry looking dust bunny staring back at me i left well alone lest it became sentient.

We visited the hotel this February via a booking with Ingram’s Ski. Booking 2 rooms for 4 adults. Firstly worth mentioning that the staff are excellent and go out of their way to accommodate any request. Restaurant and food were very good and plenty of choice each evening. Restaurant staff serve diners from the buffet selection. Rooms are very small and are in need of updating. The bathrooms certainly need updating particularly the shower cubicles and fittings. Generally the rooms are clean however the underneath of beds were rather dusty. For the ski lockers the hotel has an arrangement with the ski rental shop near to the ski lift (25 metres) Skis are brought out side for you each morning. Excellent service from the owners. Spa on site but an additional charge of 25E Overall OK and made welcome, I’m afraid that the hotel has aspects that need attention to compete in this space if it requires visitors to return

Stayed for a week skiing with Crystal. Hotel quite old, but had plenty of character. The bar area was really lovely. But mainly the hotel owners/family/staff were so kind, helpful and friendly which really made our stay wonderful. Definitely recommend.

The room was dirty with layers of dust and smelt of foul drains to the extent that we had to leave our window open and the extractor fan on. We had young children in the room too and the hotel clearly were aware of this problem but did nothing to rectify it. The rooms are dated and need some money investing in them. The shower was nothing more than a trickle, and there was no bath. The wellness centre is desolate, it has to be booked in advance so that they can turn on the hot tub, we never saw anyone use the facility in the whole time we were there. On the plus side, the food was ok, choice was limited but what was there was tasty. Despite raising the issues with management we were just repeatedly fobbed off. Despite the fact that smelly drains indicates the presence of bacteria and germs so to leave a family in this for a week was unacceptable. We will definitely not be returning, it was the smelliest and dirtiest room we have ever stayed in .

Authentic Italian Charm A lovely warm, family run feel to this hotel, genuine friendly and super helpful staff. Excellent food,plenty of it after a hard days skiing. This won’t be the flashiest hotel you will ever stay in but that’s not the point, there is just a lovely feel to the place, fun, casual bar just nice to relax in play cards, chat about your day. Great location and as others have said storing the skis and boots at the hire shop right next to the slopes and main lift about 250 meters away works a treat (much better than when I have stored at a hotel before) thank you for a great stay

We booked this hotel ( Half Board ) through CrystalSki as a late skiing trip for one week. Putting it bluntly - The Hotel was the best part of the week.. we had no complaints whatsoever. The hotel was built in 1937 hence was a lovely quaint building with lots of character, everything organised and in its place.. All of the staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for them.. Everything was explained to us upon our arrival, no waiting for rooms etc, even though we arrived midday.. The Restaurant was an experience in itself .. our table was numbered ( the same table all week ). Breakfast was a buffet arrangement however, the hot food was served by a member of staff.. no issues with quantities , as much as you could eat. Dinners in the evening were fantastic, with the Chef Ivan explaining the ingredients in every option, and making everybody feel at ease with whatever choice you made.. Our last day, we were leaving early for the airport, the hotel provided us with a breakfast parcel to take on the coach.. we also filled our insulated travel mugs with coffee from the restaurant all with their approval.. Unfortunately we won’t be returning, not through any fault of the hotel, we weren’t content with CrystalSki hence will not be using them again.. I would willing recommend this hotel to anybody and if we get the chance we will return ..

Superb experience from start to end. We booked directly with the hotel and were provided with help whenever we asked. Before we arrived we were recommended an excellent local taxi service for the transfer from Turin (Alex and his driver Cristiano). We were recommended where to get ski hire (Rosanna) which was great value and stored our stuff for us right by the slopes. The hotel was very clean, with a traditional style. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was lovely and enthusiastically served. It included starters, soup, pasta, mains and puddings. You could eat as much as you wanted and I always ate as much as I could! The tiramisu was my favourite. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Sestriere. Final point even the jokes made me laugh; I said the pasta was “Bene”, to which the reply was this is not “Penne” it’s “Rigatoni”!
