We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, a family of 5. The room is large enough to accommodate all of us and was very neat and clean. The restaurant which served breakfast was quite small but the food was decent. Our car is 7 seater and was too big to be parked indoor. However, the public carpark was few steps away. Staffs were very friendly too. Overall, it was a happy stay.

I would like to give this hotel a higher score, but unfortunately I cannot because there are too many little problems with the experience. On a positive note, the rooms are comfortable, perhaps not that large compared to normal Marriott standards, but not tiny either. However, there are just too many frustrating negatives at the hotel. For example: 1. There is a large difference in English language confidence amongst the front-desk staff. Some staff are fluent English speakers, but many other staff struggle with very basic English requests and so you end up with, for example, being recommended to go to a Conbini if you want to eat late, instead of suggesting a local ramen restaurant, many of which are open until 3am ! For an international brand hotel that clearly expects international customers, far more effort should be placed on improving the English language fluency of front-of-house staff, in particular the front-desk staff. 2. There is no comfortable lobby-style area to sit and work quietly. There is a cafe, but you cannot sit there unless you order, and if the cafe is closed, then you have zero seating options. 3. The cafe only servers Hokkoaido wines by the bottle. If you want wines by the glass, you have to order French wine. In my opinion this is a serious missed opportunity to showcase what Hokkaido has to offer. 4. On my first day here, housekeeping staff walked into my room unannounced. Fortunately I was dressed and about to leave the hotel for tourism. But housekeeping staff really need to learn basic protocol ! 5. There is no comptentent concierge at this hotel. Fortunately I am a regular visitor to Japan, so I am happy to cope on my own. But if you are thinking of staying at this hotel hoping to have the assistance of a competent concierge, you will be disappointed. For example, today I tested the front-desk asking for help reserving a restaurant, they just suggested I do it online... gee, thanks guys ! Ultimately none of these problems are insurmountable with proper training and other improvements. But for a hotel of this calibre, they equally should not have been problems in the first place, they are the sort of things that should automatically be there.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Nakajima Station, making it easy to explore Sapporo’s attractions. Nearby Nakajima Koen offers beautiful views. A highlight is the daily free shuttle service to and from Sapporo Station. The breakfast buffet features a wide variety of fresh, delicious options. Rooms are spacious, complete with a two-seater sofa for added comfort.

Kleine Zimmer, 1 Block vom Snow Festival Suskino Ice Sculptures Wir haben hier 7 Nächte während des Snow Festivals Sapporo geblieben. Unser GPS funktionierte nicht sehr gut, so dass es eine Weile bis zum Hotel gedauert hat. Es ist etwa 6 Blocks vom U-Bahn-Ausgang. Best zu wissen, wie man da vorab hinein kommt, aber es gibt viele Ausgänge vom U-Bahn, die verwirrend werden können. Das Hotel selbst ist modern. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein. Keine Schranke, so dass wenn Sie eine Menge Gepäck haben, könnte das ein Problem sein. Neben dem Bett ist ein kleiner Tisch und Stühle/Stuhl. Komplimentarer Tee. Die beste Ausstattung ist, dass es eine öffentliche Waschmaschine und Trockner für Ihre Waschmaschine im 6. Stock hat. Wenn Sie reisen, ist dies ein Goldstandard. Es kostet 300 Yen für den Waschbecken und 100 Yen für den Trockner. Ich musste den Trockner einige Male zyklisieren, aber immer noch sehr vernünftig für die Bequemlichkeit. Das Waschraum hat auch Maschinen für warme und kalte Getränke und eine Mikrowelle verkaufen. Das Restaurant bietet Ihnen einen einfachen Frühstücksbuffet für 1000 Yen. Englisch ist begrenzt. Was die Lage anbelangt, so empfehle ich Ihnen, frühzeitig (fast ein Jahr zuvor) ein Hotel zu buchen, damit Sie sich dem Bahnhof Odor näher halten können. Während Sie von der Suskino bis zum U-Bahnhof Odori unterirdischen (oder nehmen Sie den Zug), kann es am Ende des Tages müde werden, vor allem durch den Schnee zu gehen, wenn Sie zum Festival kommen. Die günstige Lage des Hotels ist die der günstigste Ort für die günstige Lage.

Mercure Sapporo is conveniently located between Susukino (Namboku line) and Hosuisusukino (Toho line). The room booked (deluxe double) was spacious (over 40 square meters) and the breakfast selection was decent. My children loved the food! Jump onto the Tozai line at Odori and you can visit Shiroi Koibito park after a short walk. Jump onto the JR line at Sapporo and you can reach to further places like Otaru or Noboribetsu. The service staff are friendly and helpful. Certainly recommended if you’re coming with young kids.

Our recent stay at the Sapporo Stream Hotel was a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend it, especially for families with young children. The hotel’s location is truly unbeatable—it’s conveniently situated near major attractions, restaurants, and public transportation, making it easy to explore Sapporo without any hassle. The hotel's accessibility was a game-changer for families like ours travelling with a stroller. It's directly accessible to the Cocono Susukino Mall and then directly down to the station area. It’s rare to find a hotel this considerate towards families, and we really appreciated the thoughtful design. The housekeeping service was another highlight of our stay. The hotel efficiently ensuring our room was well-stocked with their “menu” of housekeeping options! As expected in a Japanese hotel, the room was compact but thoughtfully designed. While opening two suitcases at the same time was a challenge, this is typical for hotels in Japan. The space was well-utilized, and we found it cosy and sufficient for our needs. Overall, Sapporo Stream Hotel exceeded our expectations with its prime location, family-friendly accessibility, and excellent housekeeping. While the room size might be a slight adjustment for some, it’s a small trade-off for the convenience and quality of service provided. We’d gladly stay here again on our next visit to Sapporo!

The hotel is very convenient, it’s close to metro susukino station exit 4 within 3 minutes walking distance. Many local restaurants, shopping centres, shopping area and department stores nearby. And tons of convenient stores as well. The most grateful is one of the front desk staff Miss Tsutsui, she just tried her best on my missing parcel to figure out where is it, she did find out finally! Thanks for her kind assistance in this matter! Highly recommended this hotel in Sapporo!

Vor 々 Ich lebte 2 Nächte, weil die Kommentare sehr hoch waren. Die Briefe des Personals, die Einrichtungen sind reichhaltig, die Klarheit, das Frühstück mit Selbsthilfe und der Mund sind großartig. Ich denke, selbst wenn der Preis doppelt so hoch ist, wird die Qualität nicht überrascht. Wenn ich mich um eine Sache kümmere, wäre es eine Gruppe von Studenten, die sich an den Arbeits- und Sportclubs beteiligen, aber ich kann in einem Schlafzimmer oder einem Sauna-Zimmer laut sprechen oder nach dem Sauna-Zimmer kein Wasser pumpen. In der Kühlzeit habe ich einige verrückte Leute gesehen, wie sie auf dem Korridor lauten. Ich glaube, es ist kein Hotelproblem, sondern ein Gastproblem, aber unter der Voraussetzung einiger verrückter Leute werden Sie bei der Behandlung der Aufenthaltsverfahren besonders auf Gruppengäste achten. Ich hoffe, Sie schreiben eine leicht verständliche Beschreibung im Schlafzimmer. Außerdem werde ich sie verwenden, wenn ich ins Bett gehe. Vielen Dank.

As mentioned by many, the location is ideal, smack in the city center. Near Odori park, lots of restaurants around, shops and things to see. To make justice to the hotel, despite not having its own car park, now it's possible to add into the bill the parking service in a multi storey car park just opposite the street (some reviewer mentioned in 2017 that the hotel had no car park, but facts change along the time, so the truth is that now there is a parking facility, as close as possible, just need to cross the road). Now, being a good place and having a decent room (not spacey but it seldom happens in Japan), would make it an ideal place to choose, being even fairly priced, wouldn't it? Well, there's a but (as in the title of the review): one of the worst logistically organised bathrooms that I've ever found - and I've seen many in 27 years of travelling around Asia. There a not-so-tiny step to take from the aisle and the bathroom. As you try to enter, the WC occupies almost all the space till the wall. So either you try to jump over it (starting from a lower level, remember the step?) or I set one foot in the minimal space available and then you turn like a classical dancer to try to bring the rest of your body (other leg) inside and step in front of a weeny sink. Same ordeal to get out of the bathroom. Imagine doing this when you're still moist, after a shower. Maybe I was just unlucky with the room I was assigned to. But there should not be any architech who studies - and then decides that it's good enough to use it without being a breakdancer - such an unpractical configuration of bathroom. The other - minor - thing, is this (but it does not really bothers me much): having placed the ”make my room” magnetic sign to the door in the morning, i came back at night to find an odd black bag hanged to the outer handle. those were two clean towels. Nothing had been touched inside the room, bed undone as I left it, dirty, damp towels still in the tub. Well, an odd interpretation of what make my room means... Other than those two things, a good place to be. I was there for 3 nights and I paid the same amount (for the whole stay) of one night in Tokyo (ok, it's Roppongi and I know it's as dear as hell!). But if you get there, make sure to see the bathroom configuration, before checking into a room!

Karaksa Hotel Sapporo is right smack in the middle of Tanujiko shopping and dining belt. The Ramen Alley is also nearby. It is close to the entrance of Pole Town, which links all the way to Sapporo JR Station. Walk past Odori metro station in the direction towards Sapporo JR station, you can also easily access Aurora Town on your right, another underground shopping stretch that leads to Aurora Plaza. The hotel provides free ice-cream and drinks at level 2F. The onsen is also conveniently located at level 2F. A coin laundry service is also found near the onsen area but the dryers don't seem very effective. I had to put enough 100 yen coins to use the dryer for 6 whole hours before they were completely dry! Room size is just nice for 2 pax, however it would be a tight squeeze for 3 adults. There isn't much hanging space for clothes in the room so I had to improvise by getting S hooks from Diaso.
