This is a relatively simple and older hotel. While the photos on Trip.com are not quite fake (as in: the furniture and layout is true), let's say that they do show the room in a very positive light (make the room seem larger, brighter and in better shape than it is). Having said that, there are definitely some nice things to say about the hotel. First of all, the lovely girl at reception was really kind and welcoming and I wish every hotel had staff like this. Also, if you consider a hotel just a place to sleep, this hotel got the most important part right, since the bed was really comfortable! Location is also good. The main reason why I find it hard to recommend this hotel is sound insulation. I know this is not great in the large majority of Chinese hotels, but it's really extremely poor here! You can hear everything that's going on (conversations, TV, incoming SMS, etc.) in several rooms around you. It's almost like there are no walls at all. How bad it gets depends on other guests though (first evening it felt like I had a dozen shouting people around me, although it was quiet between 24:00 and 06:00. Second night there were fewer guests or perhaps just more quiet people and it was relatively OK). If the price is right, I might consider staying here for a short period again. But I'm now at the nearby Jinjiang Inn, which (while certainly not perfect either) seems to offer better quality for less money.
