PLAZA INN Salzburg City

We book this hotel for 1 night. It is located near the train station which you can easily reach by foot. I believe this hotel was recently renovated. The room was very nice and well decorated. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice as well. You can enjoy a coffee and croissants for free at the lobby. The hotel is located not too far from the old town and maybe a 5-10 minutes walk to Mirabell palace. This hotel is ideal if you plan to arrive or leave the city by train.

Clean, comfortable bed, basic room. Shower gel and liquid hand soap. No hair dryer nor w/d as stated on website. Recommend arriving when staff on-site if at all possible as can be tricky to log in using online platform (via email link from hotel). We helped three different groups who were having difficulties. Once we initially were able to log in, it was easy to unlock door again each time. Windows open for ventilation which is nice . Not sure if there’s a/c (doubtful) and this room would’ve been unbearable had it been hot.

It served it's purpose for an overnight stay. It was very noisy, earplugs were the way forward and i had a good night's sleep. With out earplugs it would have been impossible. The hotel is tired. The pictures of the breakfast room are old, the balcony is rotting and unsafe to go on. As a solo traveller i did not feel that safe as there is no night security and when I got back in the evening the fire exit door was wide open anyone could enter. The plus sides it is an easy walk from the station and a nice stroll along the river to the old town. Biggest plus is the bus stop for no 2 bus for the airport is a few meters away

Very dirty hotel Toliet weren't cleaned for a long time and it's yellowish Bathtub is rusty Matress is very old and therefore it's already sagging..also We had bedbugs that we still suffer from it's itches. Room is darker as not the same light as on the pictures. Extremely dirty. We had to go away. Sheets had blood and mold stains...

I mainly picked this hotel because it was only a 10min walk to the train station. Although closer to the train station, the downside is that it is a 20min walk to the center. There's not much around this area, except for 1 Italian restaurant next door, which was closed anyway on the day I arrived. There is no breakfast available at this hotel but luckily, while I was looking for a laundromat (My Laundry) in the area, I stumbled upon a nice cafe/restaurant (called MUS. Café & Tagesbar), past over the bridge about a 5min walk away. Also across the street from the hotel, hidden at a small spot behind the building, is a great breakfast place called Little Light deli & café. As for my room, it was quite uncomfortable & very noisy, esp. since my room was on the street side on the 3rd floor. There is no a/c in the room, and with the Aug heat, it wasn't pleasant. A fan would've been fine but there isn't one either. I opened the windows to get some air & ventilation in the room, but then the street traffic was so noisy that I didn't sleep well during my 4night stay here. And it seemed like there was an ambulance or police siren going by every couple of hours or so. On a Friday night, there were a bunch of guys just loitering and being loud across the street probably until 3am or so. No sleep for me that night! There is an elevator but there are times that it didn't work. Luckily, I was only on the 3rd floor so I could take the stairs when the elevator wasn't available. When I checked in (luckily I arrived early enough in the afternoon), the reception told me that the front desk is only open 8am-4pm. There really isn't much of a front desk so it's best to message ahead if arriving after hours. Overall, this hotel was disappointing & not really worth the price.

After hours no elevator, we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs after concert and on morning of departure walk down 3 flights with our bags!!! When I mentioned at reception about the lift not working, she did not mention de-activation. Also, when reception is closed 6pm-8am, you have to walk up to first floor to catch the lift. We had a courtyard room and it was noisy at night, thanks to pizzeria. TV remote did not turn TV on/off, a button under TV ... no instructions. It took 2 days to get a burnt out lamp fixed. On our last day, housekeeping knocked, we said no service, but he came in anyhow to change the towels ... yet, daily housekeeping by request!!! If you have mobility problems, DO NOT stay here.
