Hotel Salou Beach by Pierre & Vacances

Salou|1.85km vom Stadtzentrum

The hotel was so clean and modern I loved the smell of the scent they had as soon as you walk in reception was really relaxing and reception staff were really friendly! Hotel room was huge and also really clean it was great for us as a family and my daughter had lots of space to play when we was up in the room, the beds were really comfy and we all had the best sleep every night during our stay I loved that it was a full queen size bed and not 2 single beds pushed together like most hotels. I wish we would have had a pool view as we didn’t have any view it was just the back street of the hotel. The restaurant was also lovely and the staff made us feel very welcome everytime we arrived, we was full board and the food was the usual buffet style some nights I couldn’t find anything I was keen on as it was a lot of fish also didn’t have much of a children’s option so my daughter lived of pasta and sauce for the fortnight but other than that it was fine. The fresh omelettes and pastries in the morning were really nice but we missed pork sausages!! The reason why I have given the review 3 stars was because of the entertainment and bar facilities On holiday we are used to more going on in the day and especially in the evening it didn’t really have any atmosphere at all and really let the hotel down We came to realise when we arrived that there was no mini disco for the children or evening entertainment only on Fridays and Saturdays and even on that night it wasn’t worth going to because it was late and our daughter (2) would be bored waiting for it to start with nothing else going on The hotel had so many families whilst we were staying and there could of been so much more the hotel could have done We usually like to go down dressed for the evening and have a drink in a bar or at the pool bar The hotel closed the pool area at 7pm with no access at all as they locked the door to that area and the children’s park The tapas restaurant attached to the hotel turned us a away as we didn’t want food so there was nowhere for us to go and relax with a drink whilst we waited for the restaurant to open which was a late time of 7:30pm This really did disappoint me and my family and did ***** away the holiday feeling for us We ended up having to leave the hotel every night when we would of preferred to spend more time in our hotel due to how nice everything else was Entertaining and atmosphere really lets down the hotel if it had these facilities then we would have had the perfect holiday

Hotel-Aparthotel Ponient Dorada Palace by PortAventura World

Hotel Best Da Vinci

Salou|0.84km vom Stadtzentrum
On Oct 22th, 2023 we were supposed to check in at the Best Da Vinci hotel. Having a free cancellation till 20.10, we wrote to the e-mail in advance about geting a room on the top floor. However, there was no response. At the time of check-in we were offered a room on the 3rd floor out of 6, we asked for a higher floor. We were told that they would try to help us, then we would have to wait. When we came to the reception after 1.5 hours, another employee said that there were no rooms on the 6th floor, come back on Tuesday (24.10). After about 20 minutes we decided to come to the reception, by that time the first employee already came back. They said that since the hotel closes its season on 28.10, rooms on the upper floors won't be available (although people continued to live on the upper floors till closing date 28.10), also they said that our room category was a standard room, not a studio and here are no standard rooms above the 3rd floor. We could pay extra for the room on higher floor, but it was suggested by SENIOR RECEPTIONIST in a rude manner to take the room on the 3rd floor and be satisfied with that. Disappointed we left, but the next day we decided to try our luck again because we saw people on the upper floors getting checked in. On 23.10 having approached to another employee, she answered that the change of rooms is carried out from 12 to 15 and left to specify something. Having returned back with a SENIOR employee, who was dissatisfied that we came again loudly saying ”AGAIN???”, she repeated that the number above the 3rd floor won't be given and if you DO NOT like something, PACK YOUR BAGS AND LEAVE FOR EXAMPLE TO THE NEIGHBOURING MAGNOLIA HOTEL. At the same time we were ready to pay extra just to get a room on the top floor, but nothing was not offered to us, but simply sent us away. For the first time in all our travels we were shocked by the rudeness of front desk employees, absolutely not interested (especially the SENIOR receptionist). Money doesn't matter, you can't pay and take what you want, you need to live in the room dedicated to you. In addition, we got the impressed that they do not speak English well and are more kind to Spanish-speakers. About the room itself, it's nice. But if you got a room in the main building, then be prepared that in rooms where the beds are near the window overlooking the yard, will be very noisy in the morning, because you can hear the slamming doors from ALL sides and from ALL floors. Pros: nice studios, good housekeeping, good food. Cons: rudeness and unprofessionalism of the SENIOR receptionist, noise in rooms because of poor noise insulation, no towels for the beach available.

Eurosalou & Spa

In general the hotel was nice, we arrived and it was quiet. We visited the spa which was nice and the hotel is in a great location (about a 5 minute walk from the beach front) and 25 minutes from the theme park. Food- the food in the restaurant was decent but quite repetitive. However, having said that there was always something to eat. The only downside here at the restaurant was the waiters took a long time to ask us what drinks we wanted, sometimes we would be half way through before being approached. Also, there should be a snack bar by the pool which is open to all inclusive guests however this wasn’t open at all during our stay which was disappointing as we liked to go for walks, so if we missed lunch we had to wait until 7.30 for dinner. Bar - the two male servers were brilliant. Very attentive, friendly and quick. There is a good selection of local spirits however, I was on the all inclusive and when I asked there was only one cocktail available plus sangria, there are more available but you have to pay. The only downside was I had an issue which I raised with reception who maybe through a language barrier didn’t really acknowledge. I have been here before, 8 years ago and the hotel itself has drastically improved. It does feel very spa like with the music and decor. The only issue we had was on our last night there must have been a late arrival and we could hear everything in the corridor and above which meant we couldn’t sleep until 4pm.

Just back a couple of days ago from a 5 day visit to Salou, our first to this are of Spain and also first time visitors to this hotel. To give you the short version, it’s a good hotel, not a great deal to worry about and I’d encourage you to consider staying here. Ignore the negative reviews which are largely based on personal circumstances than overall issues I’d say. To give a bit more detail though, on arrival we found several human skeletons on the forecourt and in the trees, thankfully this was part of the many Halloween decorations put out by the hotel. Certainly they didn’t belong to anyone who had starved as there is no shortage of food, more on that soon. Reception staff were great, and in fact all staff such as bar & receptionist etc were very helpful. First impressions were good and the main entrance area feels like you’re in a nice hotel. They give you wristbands to wear throughout your stay, which seems to be a thing for this brand of hotel. Depending on which hotel you’re in you seem to get a different colour, however nobody really checked the wristband noticeably so not sure how much they are used. They are not easy to take on and off so make sure they fit it losely if you want to be able to remove it at night etc. The room was fine, some say dated, yes maybe a little but no worse than any Premier Inn. The only thing I found was the walls are pretty thin, but wasn’t really a problem for me. Hot water can go from lukewarm to hotter than the sun, so one to be aware of. The only stressful thing was mealtimes at peak time, it can get extremely busy and chaotic. Getting food was no problem, there was never a shortage or long queues, it’s more the amount of people moving around the hall in different directions with hot food etc not looking where they’re going. Also some of the staff push these big carts around collecting plates etc, they seem to expect you to just move out of their way, the guy drove one into the back of my leg cutting it, and just shrugged. Basically, get there at the start of the sessions for a more chilled experience..! The pool seemed good but it was pretty Baltic so didn’t stay in there very much. The slides were good fun, they are around the side of the hotel so you could miss them if you don’t know where they are. There was a lifeguard managing the slides, but sent us down saying it was clear at the bottom when it wasn’t, leading to me and a 7 year old being stuck under a big Dutch guy..! (To be fair she said that was her favourite moment of the holiday so.. ) Nightly entertainment seemed good, they have a kids mini disco with all the same tunes every hotel in Spain uses, plus a bizarre Spanish version of the 80s Black Lace classic Superman. Then later there was further entertainment with a different act ever night including magicians and singers etc. There is also a sports bar showing football etc, so you can go in there and escape the Spanish Rod Stewart tribute act if you wish. It is about a

Where do I start….We visited El Paso around 9 years ago prior to having children with my family and we all had an excellent holiday! So I didn’t have any apprehensions about booking early this year to take my 2 children (3 & 1) . As it got closer to the time I saw some reviews and started to panic as we hadn’t had a bad word to say about the hotel but wondered had it gone down hill?? Needless to say we went with an open mind and there was no need for any worry at all!! One of the only reasons I haven’t given 5 stars was the check in. We arrived at 11am and check in took my husband around an hour (I think this was more other people maybe faffing around a bit as when he actually got to the counter he was there 5 minutes and it was done) but it took us 3 separate occasions of going up to ask if the room was ready at 3pm before we could actually get in. There are lockers you can put you’re luggage in for €10 but there was no way ours would of fit in 1 so we didn’t fancy spending €20 !! So we hung around the reception for 4 hours (a beautiful reception) but with 2 children we found we were having to juggle one person staying with the luggage and the other entertaining the children. Check in aside the rest of the holiday was all we could of asked for! Room : We had requested a quiet room and we had been put the other side of the pool away from all the bars which was perfect…the room was beautiful. Bunk beds for our 3year old which he loved (although the top bunk is not safe for a younger child as the side very easily comes off!) but this didn’t effect us as we had a cot for our 1 year old. The room has everything you would need for a holiday..storage, bathroom, comfy bed and a balcony. The only downside was there were a few schools visiting when we were there and they had placed them in the same block as us so it definatley wasn’t a quiet room ! You could hear the teachers trying to keep them quiet at 11pm at night but it’s not great when you have young children trying to sleep…maybe the hotel should have a separate block if they know they are going to have a lot of school children in??? Pool : the pool is a absolutley huge and very clean. The water is a perfect crystal blue! The pirate shop was a firm favourite for our little boy. Although they are a little strict with allowing sunglasses in the pool (you need them as it’s so bright haha!) the lifeguards make you feel very safe. There is a vast area of sand around the pool which is perfect for the children to play in….(actually made ours happy enough that he thought he’d been to the beach so we didn’t have to venture to Salou!) Food : I saw a lot of reviews with people complaining about the food. We didn’t have a problem at all. Yes it can be samey, but considering they have such a large demographic to cater for I think they do very well with what they do have! You can always find something to eat. PortAventura Hotel Gold River - Includes PortAventura Park Tickets

El Tarragonès|0.67km Entfernung von PortAventura World

We stayed as a couple (42m & 35f) for 5 nights all inclusive, in July 2023. Some general observations, hints & tips in no particular order: - Amazing shower - good pressure and temperature range. - Food serving times at the time of our stay: Breakfast 8am - 10.30am, Lunch 1.30pm - 3pm, Dinner 8pm - 10pm. -  As above, we opted for the All Inclusive option. Food was very much the same each day, with small variations - got boring quickly. It was however of a decent standard and we didn't get ill. - The music played in the communal parts needs expanding on - seems to only be the same 2-3 CDs played daily. - Despite my above comment on the food being good, the pool snack bar was dire. - Entertainment terrible. Water Aerobics had same awful and obnoxiously loud playlist daily. - The hotel seemed pretty empty beginning of July. - 10e return trip to hotel from centre of Salou. Note if you walk into town its a 35 minute uphill walk. - Disagree with other reviews as to all inclusive guests being ignored - we got served just as slowly as everyone else! :D - Not truly all inclusive - surcharge on a number of cocktails for example. Cocktails appeared to be out the drinks gun, with the applicable spirits added, resulting in pretty poor quality drinks. The all inclusive beer was Estrella, so that was decent. - Small beds (but then I am 6ft 4). - Air Con not greatest, not a freezer, but to be fair room was a nice temperature. Taking everything into consideration. I don't think that I would  recommend this hotel. There was no defining moment or disaster, just too many ******* for my liking. I guess it does however ”do what it says on the tin”.

I'm usually quite fussy with cleanliness and although there were places for improvement the rooms was very pleasant and perfect for myself and 10 year old daughter. We were so pleased to have a double bed each. I desperately want to know which mattresses they use, I suffer with back problems but while at the hotel these were minimal, they were a lovely firm foam, surprisingly comfortable, I wish I'd taken a picture or looked at the brand! The plug on the bathroom sink was broken so the drain smell was a bit awful, I kept a soap filled sponge over it or it smelled eggy. There were hand soap, shower gel and shampoo provided, the hairdryer though small, worked well and the air conditioning was amazing, it cooled the room so well. The noise is a bit of an issue as mentioned in other reviews, the chairs and furniture dragging on the floors especially and even with the balcony door closed, it sounded like a window was slightly open. We both got a very good night's sleep though despite the noise because the entertainment finished by 11pm things settled around 12am. We stayed on the 5th floor over looking the pool. Food was awful for us on the first night, however breakfast there is something for everyone, and the following evening meals I myself found delicious. My daughter consumed a lot of chips bit she's a very fussy eater. She enjoyed the pasta most evenings and the desserts - especially the rice pudding, that is a stunning dish! The stew like dishes I throughly enjoyed. The Spa wasn't up to much and you have to buy a swimming cap to enter which isn't made very clear until you are told at €3 each. Best tips: queue for dinner at 6:45pm, there are very long queues some nights. Get to the pool reasonably early, the beds get taken quickly if they're in the sun. Use the stairs to come down and the lifts to go up if you can. The lifts can get very busy and while they didn't break down while we were there, they do feel like a bit of a death trap! They don't stop closing if you're in the way either. Location wise, this hotel is just fab. Its a 10 minute walk to portaventura and ferrari land, a 10 - 15 minute walk to the beach and its far enough away from the main ***** to stay away from the noise. We went at the end of October so probably out of season so maybe this helped with the noise. Overall pleasant, comfortable and I would stay again.

Honestly can’t really fault this hotel. Start off with staff, all staff members were so polite, lovely and helpful. Everyone on the bar was lovely towards me and my partner and absolutely brilliant with the kids. Receptionist were polite and helpful if we didn’t understand something. They also helped by ordering taxis for us as we was struggling. The staff in the restaurant were brilliant, never waited more than two minutes before being asked what we wanted to drink. They were all so amazing and lovely with my baby too. Honestly lovely and amazing and friendly people. Mohan (sorry not sure how it’s spelt) was absolutely amazing! This man went above and beyond with entertainment for kids. My eldest two adored him to the point there was tears they was leaving him when coming home. He was honestly such a pleasure and lovely, genuine and kind person. He provided kids club in the morning, afternoon and did a mini disco every night. This man deserves a pay rise in my opinion and is 100% a reason I would definitely return here. Thank you. The rooms were cleaned and tidied every single day. The cleaning staff were so lovely. Unfortunately myself and the kids ended up poorly for two days and the kids had accidents. They were lovely and reassuring about it. Everywhere in the hotel was so clean and tidy. I saw countless times cleaners wandering about always doing something. The food, now the food wasn’t to my liking unfortunately but that’s just me. It’s a very seafood place. I am not a seafood person. There is “British” food but it’s cold and well personally that’s not me. There was always something though just not very often much. My partner however loved the food! Deserts were amazing. The food is repetitive but it’s buffet style so it’s to be expected. The pools aren’t quite as big as they look in the pictures but still all the same kids were extremely happy. The entertainment was on every night and most really enjoyable. Throughout the week there’s something different for all age groups. Honestly I would 100% come back again and I would recommend. Thank you for an amazing two weeks!
