We enjoyed our stay at Domus Giulia. The location is fantastic. The rooms were clean and were reasonably spacious. The cost was reasonable. The breakfast were very good. The staff was wonderful! They were very friendly and went above and beyond to help with things like getting a taxi (taxis were hard to get and a staff member offered to walk us to a taxi stand. En route they dashed off since they saw a taxi letting someone out, and they asked the driver to take us). We would gladly stay here again.

Had a wonderful 4-night stay at Domus Giulia for the May half-term. Three of us (Mum, Dad, teenager), stayed in a family room, with one queen(?)-sized bed and one single. Room was spacious and clean, with good bathroom and shower facilities. Beds were made up each morning while we were out. Good hanging space for clothes; no drawers though, which didn’t bother us. Facility to make tea and coffee, and hairdryer provided. Breakfast was continental-style (fruit, croissants, cold meats, bread, etc) with option of scrambled or fried eggs. Lovely strong coffee! Only thing about breakfast is that it starts at 7.45am, so if you are going on an early visit somewhere (as we did to the Vatican), you’ll need to make other plans for breakfast that day. The wonderful lady at the desk could not have been more helpful, from leaving very clear instructions for our arrival (as a Bed & Breakfast, the desk does not always have someone there), to pointing us in the right directions as needed, to arranging for a taxi to get us back to the airport. We accepted the offer of their transport service on arrival. At 65 euros, it’s not the cheapest, but it saved the hassle of trying to find the entrance, which is not obvious! But as I say, very clear instructions, including photos, were sent to us beforehand, so there were no problems getting to our room even though it was ‘after hours.’ Check in was completed the following morning, and we paid the Rome tourist tax (6 euros per person per day) when checking out. Domus Giulia is a lovely, affordable place to stay for a few nights. It’s close to the Vatican, and also to stop number 6 for the hop-on-hop-off buses, which also stop near the Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, etc. It’s by the river, and a main road, but with the window closed, the traffic didn’t bother us that much, although that may be because of being tired every night after full days! We would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Rome.

Beware. Made a reservation directly with the property, received a confirmation email of the reservation but upon arrival they did not honour the reservation. Left us stranded in Rome. Absolutely horrible experience. I would certainly look elsewhere

It was a lovely hotel with friendly staff. Lariel helped us with so many things. Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean. Location is also quite nice. Its very close to the bridges and main areas. We stayed at there 3 days and we walked to the city center.

Me and my wife stayed here recently. I think it depends on what room you get, we had a room facing Lungotevere which is an extremely busy street and it was quite noisy even with ear plugs. It’s not the hotel’s fault, but I do think people should be aware of this and may not realize how busy of a street it is until they arrive. If you’re facing more inside you should be ok, but it wasn’t uncommon to hear ambulances numerous times per day and throughout the night as it’s close to a hospital. I counted and there was 9 ambulance sirens in the period of when we got to the hotel in the evening to when we woke up. There are no elevators from what I could see, so hauling luggage up and down 2-3 flights of stairs could be daunting for the elderly. The beds were a bit firm/springy and feel that’s something that could be improved on, and better bedding. I would stay elsewhere next time but in a pitch it works

This is definitely a no-frills B&B; but it is perfect for someone who wants a nice clean and centrally located place to rest your head. The manager Lorenza was super helpful and made the best cappuccinos I had in Rome. The noise and lights mentioned in another review seemed off base. There are in fact blackout shades and in the evening there was very little noticeable noise. The AC and the Wifi were also excellent. The breakfast had a nice variety of pastries, cereal, breads, cheeses and of course cappuccinos. The only negatives I had was no reception past 4pm; though the instructions were thorough there was a bit of confusion that the hotel was in fact on the second (US) floor and after a long day of travel, it was more difficult than I preferred. Also, it should be noted that the step into the shower is quite high (almost a foot) and someone such as myself with some minor mobility issues, found it a bit challenging- though ultimately workable. Overall though it was a wonderful stay. Because it is small, there was a very personal touch which I greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I personally would not recommend this hotel or stay here again, that being said if you’re in a pinch like I was and the location works for you it’s not the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Pros: -very friendly staff -small breakfast available -very clean rooms -good size room and bathroom for European standards -affordable Cons: -late breakfast start so you miss it on days you have early tours -AC unit works ok but most nights I was too warm and it was the least effective AC unit out of all my hotels I stayed at on my trip -the bed was unbearable! I feel bad complaining so much but it was hard, old and springy. I woke up very sore which hindered my walking during the day and put a damper on the first week of my trip -the duvet covers had rips in them and the duvet itself was very stained and dirty -the hotel is located on an ambulance route which I feel people should be aware of. It was incredibly noisy but my room was facing the busy street side. There’s a hospital near by, two actually, so it wasn’t uncommon from the evening to morning to hear an ambulance roughly every few minutes. It would wake me up even with ear plugs -the room has a lot of lights in it at night, between the AC unit and the exit sign and other lights in the room it was hard to sleep even with a sleep mask -I found the location not convenient personally and would aim to stay closer to Piazza Navona next time.

We had an excellent 4 night stay at Domus Guilia. The room was very clean and well kept. The staff was super friendly and help make our stay an enjoyable visit. The room is located next to the river and a short 10 minute walk to Piazza Navona. We used the many bike and scooter hires to travel down towards the colosseum which otherwise would of been around a 40 minute walk. The hotel was quiet and situated in a nice area of Rome. Slightly outside of the more touristy areas.

Recomendo! Foi excecional! Desde o primeiro contacto que nos sentimos em casa. Tudo super acolhedor. A localização é perto do Castelo St Angelo e do Vaticano. A 10 mn a pé estamos no centro. A Andrea foi extremamente atenciosa! Deu-nos indicações sobre alojamento e cidade e uma vez que eu fazia anos surpreendeu-nos com um miminho. Obrigado pela atenção! Voltaremos!
