Excellent stay. Every person that we encountered was friendly and helpful. The room was large,comfortable and clean. We highly recommend the Bearcat inn!

We were in the back annex hotel. We enjoyed the spacious room. I liked how it was set up with all of the open cabinetry. It was nice to have a full refrigerator, microwave and even a hot plate. We will use this hotel again.

Had to come into town for a funeral in the area with family. Everything was nice and clean. They had a lot of good breakfast choices. It's easy to get in and out of the parking lot, even with construction on the road. Plenty of space in the room for 4 adults.

I do hope some of those negative reviews from years ago don't discourage folks from trying this hotel because our experience was all positive. We hadn't been in this part of MO in nearly 3 decades. Our more recent trips to the KC area have only expanded to St. Joseph. We were surprised at the growth of the area, so many new or newly renovated restaurants and even the University has added facilities and impressive buildings. We needed three rooms and had two folks in each. All of us were very pleased with the cleanliness, friendliness, and comfort we had for the entire weekend. The morning breakfast was certainly adequate with hot and cold items available and the nicest attendant. What a sweet lady, getting items out quickly, picking up dishes and cups, keeping everything clean and offering to get you more. The weather was not as cooperative, every place with visited and all the restaurants we dined in were very pleasant and food was delicious. Considering the way prices are in our "big city", we were quite satisfied with menu prices and wide selections as well as hotel costs. After busy days, we were happy to get back to the Bearcat Inn for hot showers and comfortable beds. If we are up that way again, we will not hesitate to get our reservations in here.

The bed was THE most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever attempted to sleep in. The obnoxiously small pillows didn’t help much either. Thought it was at least clean until I finally gave up on sleeping and went to take a shower only to find a very large clump of hair in the tub. Wasn’t expecting a spectacular hotel with it being a small college town but the bed was so much worse than I could have imagined. Would definitely prefer to just drive the 2 hours back & forth to my house next time.

Restaurant was really good. Disappointed that there was not a lot of choices of outside electric to charge boat batteries. Maybe they do this to discourage fishermen from staying there. Was surprised there was no elevator to second floor. Not the steps are a problem but draging luggage up and down steps isn't ideal.
