KkahlaiA well managed hotel. It is located just 8 min walk from Nagano Station and 3min walk from Alpico customer service office that sells bus tickets to various attractions.
Efficient check in/ out process. Staff ranging from front desk to drivers were professional and polite.
Though the room was relatively smaller than other Toyoko inns, it was clean and well equipped. Good range and supply of amenities.
Breakfast quality and food range were nice. Complimentary DIY luggage locker was convenient.

AAnacrvcostaI had a very positive experience at Hotel New Nagano Next. Even though we only stayed for one night, everything went smoothly. The hotel offers one of the most complete selections of amenities I’ve seen, which was a pleasant surprise.
The staff was genuinely kind and helpful, although their English skills were a bit limited. Despite this, communication wasn’t an issue, and they did their best to assist us.
I’d definitely consider booking this hotel again without hesitation. A solid choice for anyone visiting Nagano!

WWei LeDieser Ort ist ~5mins Fuß vom Zenkoji Tempel. Nachbarschaft ist friedlich in der Nacht.
Schuhe werden außerhalb der Unterkunft entfernt. Zimmer sind im 2. Stock, so dass Sie Ihr Gepäck aufnehmen müssen (kein Aufzug).
Das Zimmer (mit Fenster) ist riesig. Sie müssen die Treppe nach unten zu benutzen, um das geteilte Toilette und geteilte Wäsche (keine Toilette im Zimmer).
Wir hatten nur 30 Minuten von Onsen Zeit für 2 Pax - Paare wurden nicht erlaubt, die Onsen gleichzeitig zu verwenden, so dass wir nacheinander gehen mussten (Ich bin nicht sicher, ob die Anweisungen verloren in der Übersetzung..). Ich fühlte mich sehr beschleunigt, so dass ich nicht wirklich die Erfahrung von den Onsen genießen konnte, aber insgesamt war schön und sauber.
Interessante 6.30am Tour rund um die Gegend und innerhalb des Tempels selbst, gefolgt von einem einfachen vegetarischen Frühstück (Porridge mit Omakas-stile Seiten mit Miso-Soße) zurück auf die Unterkunft. Die Morgentour dauerte von 6.30am - 8.30am.
Die Unterkunft gab jedem Pax eine Fleischblatt, um uns in den Zenkoji Tempel zu bringen, um uns während der Morgengebetszeremonie warm zu halten. Wir gingen am 30. Dez und es war so COLD.
Interessante Erfahrung insgesamt, aber der Unterkunftspreis ist ziemlich hoch.

The earliest check in is 4pm as that's when the staff will be around as the staff also managing the cafe too which open only in the evening.

AAnonymer BenutzerThe room was very nice - sufficiently large and with all necessary amenities (even a small fridge). The room was clean and in good condition. The staff was very kind and stored my luggage for free, as I arrived early in the morning. The hotel is conveniently located, yet in a rather quiet place. It's a walking distance from both Nagano station and Zenkoji temple (approximately 20-25 minutes), however, do note that the nearest bus stop is about 900 meters away, so if you got a lot of luggage and do not intend to get a taxi, that may be a bit far. They also have coin operated washing machines and dryers, in case you need them. Overall, a great option for most travelers, especially in terms of value for money.

AAnton VoroshilinThis is an extremely cosy place, but I would not dare describe it as luxurious. It is dated and simple, with the most basic amenities.
However, I liked it a lot. The best part about this ryokan is its owner, an elderly man. He truly puts his heart and soul into his establishment. He even suggested to give us a ride to the station, however the weather was nice and we decided to walk instead.
I'd like to highlight the breakfast: it was gorgeous, given the price. I'd even say it tasted better than a ¥3000 dinner I had at some local restaurant.
The whole experience felt like visiting your grandparents, who live in a village, during the summer.

GGastnutzerI had a wonderful stay at Smile Hotel Nagano. The staff were extremely polite, helpful, and welcoming, which made my experience very comfortable from check-in to check-out. The ambience of the hotel is pleasant and relaxing, and everything was well maintained and clean.
The services were smooth and efficient, and I truly appreciated the attention to guest comfort. Overall, it was a great stay, and I would definitely recommend Smile Hotel Nagano to anyone visiting the city. I would love to stay here again!

GGastnutzerWe arrived from Tokyo on a late shinkansen, and needed to stop overnight before catching the bus to Hakuba in the morning. Hotel Abest had the best rates and their checkin counter was open until late.
We had a room on the ninth floor. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean, and there was even an automatic massage chair.
We added breakfast, and the photos I have added show the nutritious hot breakfast and the view from the small restaurant on the tenth floor.
Would absolutely recommend staying here!

IIvanReceptionist was very friendly, recommending places to eat and things to do. Room was clean. The washing machine is free to use. Bed was very soft and comfortable. Location is about 15-20 mins walk from nagano station. And about 10 mins walk to zenkoji temple, you can wake up early and walk to see the early morning prayer that occurs at sunrise.

Aastro.sergiuThis is a truly authentic experience! Cosy, with traditional furniture and bed, whilst still offering very comfortable options it's the best of both worlds. Plus, the view is among the best in town and the breakfast is authentic and charming. It was a beautiful experience to say here and the fact the hosts did not speak English actually added to the experience. I'd be sure to visit again next time I'm in Nagano.
