GGastnutzerThe location is not close to the railway station, although it is not far from the city centre since York is quite small, so most attractions are still within walking distance.
Unfortunately, cleanliness was not satisfactory. When using the air conditioner, we could smell dust in the air. The carpet felt dusty, and the towels were not white enough and showed heavy signs of use. The table and cupboard in the room were also quite old-fashioned, and you can clearly feel their age rather than a modern hotel standard.
On the positive side, the service was very good. All staff were friendly, and the breakfast staff in particular were very kind and helpful.
However, I would not recommend choosing the breakfast-included option. It is overpriced and honestly the worst hotel breakfast I’ve tried in terms of taste. You can easily find much better and more cost-effective breakfast options just outside the hotel within very convenient walking distance.
Overall, friendly staff and decent location, but the cleanliness and room condition really need improvement, and the breakfast is not worth the money.

GGastnutzerDas Hotel war wunderschön, schönes Zimmer (wir hatten eine Blenheim Suite), riesige Kupferbad im Schlafzimmer (bringt Ihr eigenes Bblasebad!), super komfortables Bett, schön eingerichtetes Zimmer. Rezeption Mitarbeiter wunderschön und sehr wissensvoll von der lokalen Umgebung. Sehr wunderschöne Bar mit freundlichem Personal, eine Reihe von Bordspielen, die lustig war. Frühstücksraum hatte ein großes Churchill-Theme ( brillante Top/Bowler-Hatbeleuchtung). Bestimmt empfehlen. Danke für einen wirklich schönen Aufenthalt.

GGastnutzerWe had an excellent stay at Mercure York Fairfield Hall. Without exception the staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful whilst at the same time understated. The breakfast represented excellent value with good choice and nicely prepared and presented. We had the opportunity to upgrade our room which we did, having the Honeymoon Suite as a consequence made our stay very pleasurable and comfortable. Accommodation is good but the decor in places a bit tired. Location wise it is excellent being a short distance from the Park and Ride which makes getting into York so easy and cheap.
Our only gripe is that there is nog a EV charge point in site though there are sondd ed at the nearby retail park.
All in all an excellent place to stay for a trip to York. We would be happy to return.

AAnonymer BenutzerRoom was good, loved that the leisure centre was open till late so could get time at the pool and jacuzzi even after sight seeing. Breakfast was great, nice continental selection, and a picturesque view from the restaurant. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
A potential improvement could be the hot water control in the shower - ours was a Deluxe room with bath. The temperature was either scalding hot or ice cold - there was no in-between.

YYeziEin kleines Haus, das Zimmer ist sauber, sehr warm und ruhig, der Service ist sehr warm, wir wohnen im dritten Stock, es gibt keinen Leibwäsche, die Gepäcktasche sind alle Geschäfte, um das Zimmer zu nehmen, und das Parken ist auch bequem. Die Umgebung ist gut, die Reise ist auch bequem, 20 Minuten zu Fuß am Fluss zu Fuß und schnell zu den touristischen Attraktionen in der Stadt Zhuang kommen. Nur das Frühstück ist sehr teuer. Zwei Nächte am Tag sind immer noch ein gemütliches Erlebnis.

YYouyujunjunziDas Hotel ist ein altes Haus, das sehr Großbritannien ist, hat einen großen Golfplatz, es gibt viele wilde, schwulen und unbekannte Vögel. Das Hotelzimmer ist sehr groß, sehr komfortabel, das Frühstück ist eine Vielzahl von Arten von Speisen.

LLow Siong Lye 27052025Ich hatte einen komfortablen Aufenthalt im Holiday Inn York. Das Hotel ist bequem gelegen, um einen 10-minute Fahrt vom Bahnhof mit dem Bus 840 oder 843, was es ziemlich einfach zu erreichen. Das Zimmer war sauber, und das Bett war sehr komfortabel, bietet einen entspannenden Ort, um nach einem Tag der Erforschung zu entspannen.
Die einzige Rückwirkung ist die Entfernung zum Bus-Pick-up-Punkt Hop On Hop Off. Entweder mussten wir einen anderen Bus nehmen oder ca. 20 Minuten zu Fuß, um die nächste Haltestelle zu erreichen, was nicht immer ideal war.
Das Hotel bietet insgesamt gute Komfort und Sauberkeit, aber Reisende, die auf Sehenswürdigkeiten verlassen, sollten für ein wenig zusätzliche Reisezeit planen.

GGastnutzerI stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton York for a short visit and, while the location was reasonably convenient, the overall experience fell short of expectations for a Hilton-branded hotel.
I was upgraded to a room located across the car park from the main building, accessed via stairs and without central heating. Instead, the room relied on standing portable heaters, which wasn’t ideal — especially given the wet weather and the need to walk outside to reach the room. The room itself felt quite tired and dated, with noticeably creaky floorboards both inside the room and from neighbouring rooms, which made it hard to fully relax.
The location is decent enough, but if you’re travelling by public transport there are better areas of York to stay in that offer easier access and a nicer overall setting.
I didn’t try the breakfast, as there are plenty of good local options nearby, which I enjoyed instead, so I don’t feel I missed out. One small disappointment was that coffee wasn’t available outside of breakfast hours.
Overall, with so many good accommodation options in York, I’m not likely to stay here again.
