Highlights: Love the dual-pillow options (soft/hard) and the 24-hour front desk that helps manage the laundry for you. We were also grateful for the free room extension until 1 PM.
Drawbacks: No ground-floor staff to help with bags since the lobby is on Level 2. Wi-Fi signal is weak, and the breakfast is the same every day (though there are many eateries nearby).
Smells: You’ll notice the wet market smell outside and the strong essential oil scent in the lobby, but it’s manageable since you aren't at the hotel lobby all day.

SSurewin27We chose this hotel primarily for its proximity to the Shantou railway station. The night prior, we stayed at a nearby Hampton but had a disappointing experience, so this was our first stay with a local Chinese chain brand.
Check-in was smooth and efficient, although no English was spoken at the front desk. We had requested a higher-floor, quieter room via WeChat in advance and were initially assigned Room 602. Upon entering, the room appeared clean and well-maintained.
However, we encountered an unusual and inconvenient issue with the Wi-Fi. Guests are instructed to turn on the TV to access the Wi-Fi password, but we discovered that the TV must remain on in order for the Wi-Fi to function. This was confirmed by multiple staff members, including what appeared to be a front desk supervisor. This setup was quite disruptive, as the TV screen is bright and cannot be dimmed, and the work desk is positioned directly in front of it.
To their credit, Ms. Lin—responded promptly and offered to move us to another room (also 602, but with a different layout). The new layout was more practical, with the desk positioned at a 90-degree angle from the TV, which helped mitigate the issue somewhat.
That said, the second room had its own drawback: there was a noticeable gap in the window, which allowed in road noise. Since we stayed over the weekend, traffic noise and honking were quite noticeable at night. In addition, we heard neighbors chatting and laughing past midnight.
Lotion could be a nice addition too. A small humidifier with scented oil definitely gave a zen touch.
Aside from these two issues (Wi-Fi dependency on the TV and sound insulation), the overall stay was comfortable. As a gesture of goodwill, the hotel provided complimentary breakfast. While we are not typically breakfast eaters, we did try the noodle station. The offerings were entirely Chinese-style. One suggestion would be to label the protein options more clearly (in Chinese or English), as we observed multiple guests asking staff about them—one of which turned out to be pig’s heart.
Overall, this was a good introduction to a Chinese domestic hotel brand. I learned that they got a few locations in Europe. While there are areas for improvement, particularly in technology setup and soundproofing, the service recovery effort and general room quality made for a satisfactory stay.

I booked this hotel primarily for its fantastic location near the food scene. It is incredibly convenient to get to **Zhujiang Food Street**: just turn left from the hotel’s main entrance, walk straight for about 5 minutes until you reach the traffic light, turn left, and you are right there!

The customer service here is exceptional. Both the front desk and the housekeeping teams were incredibly friendly and welcoming—a huge thank you to everyone! Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay.

That said, when comparing the specific amenities—particularly the washing machine and dryer facilities—with the **Mehood Lestie Flagship Hotel (Shantou MixC)**, I still prefer the MixC location.

🥢 Bonus Food Recommendation!
Don't miss the shop right next door to the hotel selling rice noodle rolls (*zhu chang fen*) and *har gao* (shrimp dumplings). We ended up eating there for three consecutive days! The *har gao*, in particular, was exceptional—chewy, soft, and surprisingly juicy. Unlike the drier, prawn-only versions you usually get, these were incredibly moist and packed with flavor. Highly recommended!

Die Einrichtungen waren ausgezeichnet, und die atemberaubende Meerblick machte unser Aufenthalt noch angenehmer.
Auch wenn wir das Personal nie persönlich getroffen haben, war der Service noch ausgezeichnet. Sie reagierten schnell auf unsere Anfragen über WeChat, die den Eincheckprozess und den allgemeinen Aufenthalt reibungslos und bequem machten.
Die einzige kleine Nachfrage war die Lage, die durchschnittlich in Bezug auf die Zugänglichkeit war. Allerdings hat dies unsere Gesamterfahrung nicht erheblich beeinflusst.

My parents, sibling and I stayed for a total of 3 nights in their 4 pax room.
It’s a beautiful and tastefully decorated accommodation with personal courtyard and interior. Bed and duvet were so comfortable especially in the chilly weather of 18 ~ 22 degrees. I didn’t spot anything obvious I can complain about regarding the cleanliness of this place, hence 5/5 for cleanliness.
Location is perfect (5/5). Next to streets of food places that have good ratings, and super near 万象城 shopping mall (restaurants, luxury shops, retail and more). Anyways cabbing around Shantou is really convenient, fast, and affordable. Even though it is nested amongst other tall residential area, once we close the door we couldn’t hear much noise from outside.
Service is 5/5 as well. There’s free pickup and drop off serviced from the railway station. There’s daily fresh fruits delivered to us, as well as chicken soup. There’s also free laundry service which we really appreciate! Staffs were always ready to help and always ready to give recommendations. We really felt their hospitality and they are genuine in providing best service possible.
Amenities is 5/5 as well. The hair dryer is Laifen brand which is so strong and sleek looking. They provide disposable towels on top of those reusable towels. Their slippers are fluffy and comfy. They have like everything we need.
Bonus: Their residential cat and her kittens are adorable!!!
All in all wonderful stay and would stay again if i ever visit Shantou again. Suggestions for improvement: (1) more variety in breakfast options (stayed for 3 nights and felt that some breakfast options would be great), and (2) the shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner are a little too hard to pour out maybe can consider using press bottles.

Ihre Freundschaft, Effizienz und echten Gastfreundschaft hat mich wirklich als Gast geschätzt. Sie helfen auch, meine Taobao Lieferung von Parzellen zu erhalten. Gut für alle Mitarbeiter.
Das Hotels Zimmer & Lobby Reinigung ist gut gepflegt. Mein Zimmer fühlte sich frisch, gemütlich und einladend, mit bedenklichen Touchs, die die Pflege und Aufmerksamkeit in tägliche Aufbewahrung zeigten. Das Hausbetreuungsteam hat eine erstaunliche Arbeit geleistet, und ich habe ihre Dringlichkeit und Kohärenz während meines Aufenthalts wirklich geschätzt.
Die Lage ist auch ein großer Highlight – günstig gelegen in der Nähe der wichtigsten Attraktionen in der alten Stadt Shantou, Essensmöglichkeiten, aber ruhig genug für einen ruhigen Schlaf der Nacht. Es machte es unermüdlich, die Gegend zu erkunden, und ich konnte einfach wieder zum Hotel für eine schnelle Ruhe zurückkehren, bevor ich wieder ausreisen konnte.
Die Einrichtungen waren modern, gut ausgestattet und sorgfältig für Freizeit und große Familien. Von den hilfsbereiten Lounge-Gebieten bis zu den privaten VIP-Großzimmer-Einrichtungen und Innenräumen war alles in Ordnung, um meinen Aufenthalt sowohl angenehm als auch produktiv zu machen.
Insgesamt war meine Erfahrung hier nichts weniger als ausgezeichnet. Es ist selten, einen Ort zu finden, der konsequent auf allen Fronten – Reinigung, Service, Lage und Ausstattung –, aber dieses Hotel wirklich tut. CcalilopezzThe location is close to several restaurants and shops however, the building itself is looks very old and shabby from the outside. Once you enter the room though it is very aesthetically pleasing while the all white aesthetic is hard to keep clean. The couch looked a little old and dirty when you look closely but in pictures everything looks nice.
There is a great cafe and steam bun place down the street for breakfast. It is a 10 minute walk to the harbor where you can walk and relax at night or stroll in the sun during the day.
It is a 10 minute drive to Zuimei Beach which was very convenient. From the bridge it is about 25 minute drive, located right in the middle of the island.
In general for the price we paid I felt it was totally worth it, the staff was nice, and they helped us park for free about a 5 minute walk down the street.
They had toothbrushes in the room but also had an area to get other amenities like mouth wash, hair ties, bug spray, etc. They also had water that you can help yourself to.
The best part? At the end of the night they delivered a bag with milk and heated eye masks before bed. This was unexpected and very cute. We would come again.

Dann empfängt der Rezeptor eine kleine Schwester mit Brillen sehr gut, sehr geduldig, die Toilette ist jeden Tag sehr sauber und der Wagen am Straßenrand hört keinen Lärm, sehr gut! Ich habe noch einen frühen Austritt und habe kein Geld verdient. Das Hauptproblem ist, dass die letzte Nacht des Aufenthalts ein wenig verdreht ist. Der Chef hat sich sehr gut gelöst. Every staff member I encountered – from reception to housekeeping – went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They also specially provide our room upgrade for seaview to our special honeymoon couple.
The hotel’s room & lobby cleanliness is well-maintained. My room felt fresh, tidy, and inviting, with thoughtful touches that showed the care and attention put into daily upkeep. The housekeeping team did an amazing job, and I truly appreciated their promptness and consistency throughout my stay.
The location is also a major highlight – conveniently situated near key attractions located at seaside , dining options, yet peaceful enough for a restful night’s sleep. It made exploring the area effortless, and I could easily return to the hotel for a quick rest before heading out again.
The amenities are well-equipped, thoughtfully designed to cater to both leisure and big group of families. From the helpful lounge areas to the private big room, and in-room conveniences, everything was in place to make my stay both enjoyable and productive.
Overall, my experience here was nothing short of excellent. It’s rare to find a place that delivers consistently on all fronts – service, location, and amenities – but this hotel truly does.
