Dies war Teil einer Bustour durch Sizilien. Ich muss sagen, das Hotel ist großartig. Fantastische Lage und einfacher Zugang zum Stadtzentrum. Die Zimmer haben eine anständige Größe und sind sauber. Die Rezeption ist sehr hilfsbereit und stellt auf Anfrage eine Flasche sowie jede Menge kostenloses Eis von der Bar zur Verfügung. Einziger Kritikpunkt ist der super laute Nachtclub in der Nähe. Wir haben überhaupt nicht geschlafen!! Kein Wunder, dass sie bei unserer Ankunft Ohrstöpsel auf jedes unserer Kissen gelegt haben! Eine Nacht lang ging der Lärm bis mitten in die Nacht. Zum Glück sind wir noch am selben Abend abgereist.

Das Hotel selbst ist schön. Die Zimmer sind sauber und ordentlich. Das Personal ist hilfsbereit, aber die Lage ist nicht die beste. Es grenzt buchstäblich an etwas, das man als „raues“ Viertel bezeichnen könnte. Wir hatten keine Probleme, wären aber sicherlich nicht in einige der nächsten Bars gegangen. Samstagnacht gab es ein Straßenfest, das bis in die frühen Morgenstunden mit hoher Lautstärke dauerte. Die Doppelverglasung hat nicht geholfen. Wenn Sie also hingehen, würde ich mich vorher nach Musik erkundigen und ein gutes Zimmer auswählen.

While I did not expect much for this hotel, I can clearly state this is NOT a 4-star hotel. The only reason I would give this hotel a single star is for the fact the water was hot. The hotel is located in a shoddy location. Each of the three nights of our stay locals were shooting off fire works disrupting our sleep. The rooms were in poor condition and the staff was unhelpful in every way. There is nothing near the hotel and its location as described is shoddy...basically located in a slum area. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.

Venue was somewhat noisy from street activity and whilst location is central there were some minor issues. Rooms are cosy and walls in need of a clean. Air Conditioning was loud and floors creaky under foot. Sleep comfort was OK and some toiletries were provided.

The Hotel Vecchio Borgo is very well situated in Palermo ,Sicily, Italy, but for one very large weakness-it is right next to an intersection hosting some of the noisiest party venues in town. On Friday and Saturday nights especially the noise can be deafening, making it difficult to sleep. In addition the hotel has a practice of having “non-working” airconditioning systems. I was told (by the hotel staff) that the airconditioning system is turned off, often to save energy and money. When this happens, and patrons complain, the reception staff use the excuse of saying the system has broken down. If you push them hard enough it can be switched back on, but it will, at some stage, “fail” again. This is important as not only are the rooms then very stuffy, with double-glazed glass, but the the solution offered by the Hotel is for you to open the windows, thereby aggravating the noise problem from the streets below. When I complained to night staff about this their response was that “There is a malfunction, I cannot fix it”. More likely the system is turned off and no one wants to fix it. Their solution is to then offer ear plugs to alleviate the noise problem. Even assuming you can sleep with ear plugs, this does not solve the air-conditioning problem. This is a pity as the Hotel is used by GAdventures as one of its bases in Palermo. I am surprised that GAdventures has not moved to pressure the hotel to fix the problem.If you are doing a GAdventures (or other group) tour, and this is one of their hotels in Palermo, I strongly recommend you look for an alternative which doesn’t use this hotel-not if you want to sleep.In the circumstances I can only advise against staying in this hotel.

The desk clerk was nice and friendly. They could not get my temperature in the room adjusted so it was cold. Good restaurant, La Brace in walking distance. Breakfast was ok. The room was decent but beds should have been split. Quite noisy outside at all hours.

Horrible, dirty, no possibility to have a normal shower . I couldn’t fit in the shower! The rooms are painted with intense pink colors. The place smells. Nobody to help you. Can’t get the lugagge in the elevator! Why is it 4 stars? Please don’t stay there.

This is a horrible hotel. Good points: freshly painted, nicely decorated, clean. The rest: in a bad location with lots of trash, feels unsafe and has a lot of outdoor bars right in front playing VERY loud music until 2 or so in the morning. Rooms are tiny with 2 very small drawers, safe doesn't work, a medium size person can barely fit in the shower and there is no place to sit except for one wooden desk chair. Bed is ok. Not particularly close to important sights. We won't be back.

Front desk is amazing, unfortunately the rest of the hotel is less to be desired. Had room 610, right next to elevator. You can only imagine how loud it was. It was louder inside the hotel compared to the street noise. The bed was as hard as rock. I actually believe it was rock I was sleeping on. I not only had a broken shower head, but the shower was so tiny circumference wise. I’m a size 8 so can you imagine how small you have to be to fit into it. Location is ok but there are better places for a few bucks more. In the middle of the night I was awoken with elevator noises, hallway noises, other room noises and a buzzing sound every 5-8 min, I timed it. I did NOT rest well nor shower well for the 2 nights I was there. Stay someplace else.

Oh my! What happened here? This was part of a tour, so I had to stay for 2 nights. Would I have been on my own I’d have looked for another hotel. This hotel is disgusting. Stains on the bed, the wall etc. Seems like the rest (the floor, other surfaces) have never been cleaned. Disgusting place!

I'm writing this at 4am because I can't sleep in my room. Do not go to this hotel. The pictures are misleading and the 4 star category is a joke: • Stains in the walls and in the blankets. Not because of the cleaning service, which I think it does a great kob, but because the conditions of the general state of the rooms/hotel. • Rooms X01 is next to the elevator. We already saw a couple complaining and trying to change rooms because of the loud noise. • Our room has holes in the walls Our room has watermarks in the walls. • Our bed has nothing between our head and the wall and it looks bad. • Of course the bed is uncomfortable and the eifi is terrible • You can hear ALL the guests in the rooms. Example: I hear the room next to ours going to the toilet. And another room with several people talking and having a good time because they weren't trying to sleep. • I don't know if they are changing the towels everyday or just folding them again, used. Either way, they waste a lot of water cleaning them or we're using each other’s towels because we don't know which one is which. Don't waste your money here.
