If you look at my previous reviews you'll see I've stayed at quite a few Premier Inns, several more than once. I'll cover what's good to start off with. If you're looking for a handy stop off from the M62 around this area, look no further. 2 minutes off J32 and adjacent to a large leisure/eating/shopping outlet place. There is good parking although it seems popular with 'van' people during week nights and they take a lot of space up. Something to note is that there are quite a few disabled spaces and two EV charging points although.... there is no attempt to 'police' them, it was a free for all. Vans parked in both types without challenge (neither EVs or blue badge holders) and even one of the hotel staff (female, looked like one of the managers with a red car) parked in a disabled space - no blue badge on display. I have a family member who needs a disabled space and therefore it winds me up when I see this type of behaviour. We had a Plus room, these are on the fourth floor and restricted to around 20 rooms. Handy if you want a fridge but I do find it weird that they only give you one proper chair to sit on, if you ignore the work style chair. The air con was effective, the room clean and tidy and nice large shower. No bath which didn't bother us. Friendly housekeeping staff. We only ate breakfast so can't comment on dinner. There was the usual choice although not as good as the London one we stayed at in April and they weren't that good at restocking. On day 1, the meal was warm at best but there seems little point in complaining. The staff are more focused on asking if you have an allergy. On arrival we were greeted by two quite miserable young women on reception who did the job but without any hint that they were at all bothered about our custom. Subsequent observations with interactions with other guests were the same. More interested in chatting between themselves and looking at their phones... Between 5 and 7 they have a two for £12 cocktail offer. So, after making our choice, I went to the bar (next to reception) to place my order for 2 Negronis. It was a male from reception this time, who doubled as the bar tender. He looked at me blankly and said 'what'? I reiterated my order and pointed it out on the drinks menu. He said 'I've never heard of it' so I said well it says what it is and presumably you'll have some instructions on measurements etc? He replied, I don't know what vermouth is and don't think we have it anyway! He then tried to pass it off as 'they are changing to a new menu anyway' so I guess I'm supposed to accept that all the ingredients are gone forever. A few minutes earlier, I heard him say to another guest they only had vanilla vodka and no plain... Ok, so I know it's not like supposed to be a bar with everything available but you should have what you advertise and know what to do with the ingredients. He didn't even apologise, he was happy just to let me walk away and go back to chatting with his coworkers. I f
