Premier Inn Newhaven hotel

Was a comfy place to stay.

Absoloute worst experience, awful staff, completely unhelpful and rude, arrived late evening and no one was manning the desk the buzzer didn't work and the phone just rang out. No apology or acknowledgement. Room was poor, unclean, too hot and broken air-conditioning. Restaurant was no better. We were using it as a stop over before getting an early ferry, will never make that mistake again, I'd rather sleep in the car.

I had stayed at this hotel before and was aware of how hot the rooms could become, as they do not have air conditioning and the windows are usually left open to circulate air. When we arrived and checked in around 3 pm, I immediately noticed cobwebs between the window and curtain. In an effort to ensure a clean and comfortable stay, I promptly wiped down the window and curtain and closed the window. We left the hotel shortly after checking in and returned after 7 pm. While my two young children [2 and 5 years old] were playing in the room, my daughter screamed about something being in her mouth. We then noticed cobwebs around the table where she was playing. At this point, I decided to check for more cobwebs and found them in all the corners of the room, beside the bed, and near the bathroom door. Additionally, there was mould in the bathroom. I raised this matter with a member of staff at the front desk and showed a video of how dirty the room was. He advised me that he could not do anything and suggested I speak to the manager in the morning. The next morning, I spoke to the manager and showed her the video. She asked if we were staying another night; I said no, and she reported that she could not do anything and encouraged me to complete the feedback form online. My main issue with the room was its dirtiness and the presence of mould, which I feel is unacceptable.

Normally book premier inns because you get a good clean stay. The room (room 118) was covered in mold above the window. The shower was falling apart and the tv struggled to recognise the remote. The restaurant was a disgrace. The larger lady in black that was the waitress in the evening was just pain rude and did not give a fig. The took ages and when it finely came the main meal was brought out before I had a chance to eat the starter. The breakfast was cold and lacked any amount. People who had not paid for breakfast just walked in and pretended they had paid and then laughed at the fact that they had got away with it it. What’s the point of paying???? Would not return here unless no other choice.

Last minute decision to stop overnight after a ferry from France. Everything was what I would have expected; room was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable. Staff were efficient and welcoming. We didn't have breakfast as we wanted a quick get away. Perfect. What was not to like?

Hotel is a standard premier inn (no air-conditioning though) but the restaurant is shocking, no staff present for breakfast and no food out 45 minutes after starting the breakfast service, left without food. If you book the hotel here, there is a McDonalds etc close by, save your money and get breakfast elsewhere instead.

Quite possibly the worst Premier inn we’ve stayed in - stayed here in the past and it has gone very downhill - very run down and in need of a refurb - the restaurant is very tatty and dirty ! The bed was very comfy, good shower but the room is dull and no air con made it unbearably warm (and the weather not particularly warm so can imagine when the weather is hot it would be horrendous) there is a fan - but so noisy made it difficult to sleep !

The rooms are very average, not the quality of any premier Inn I have stayed in before. The restaurant attached is filthy with tatty chairs and tables, more like a transport cafe, in fact some transport cafes have the advantage on this.

We stayed the one night in Newheaven what a beautiful place and the accommodation was lovely definitely stay again!!!
