Short walk to beach and restaurants. Beautiful garden. Spacious room with fan and A/C. Thank you!

Great place to stay. Staff were very good and helpful. The breakfast was good. Room size was spacious and it was great to have a choice of AC or calling fan. Great to having a working smart TB too. Choice of minibar options was perfect and at reasonable cost. Pool area was clean and well maintained. Would stay here again.

Phenomenal place to start our Sri Lanka trip! Me and my friend stayed here and were so well taken care of. Airport pickup was smooth and welcoming. Mr. Gomez is very helpful. Rooms are large, comfortable and homely. The gardens are beautiful. We will be back!

Ich wollte einen ruhigen, freundlichen Ort zum Schreiben und Arbeiten und dies ist eine kleine Oase der Freundlichkeit und Fürsorge. Der Besitzer kümmert sich um alle Bedürfnisse, das Frühstück ist gut und im Preis inbegriffen. Es war sehr ruhig, als ich dort war (Nebensaison), was zur entspannten Erfahrung beitrug, aber es war vor allem die Pflege des Gartens, die wirklich schön anzusehen war. Der einzige Nachteil war, dass nach einem starken Regen die Zufahrtsstraße überflutet war. Ansonsten toller Aufenthalt!

The hotel is quite charming with a number of buildings, gardens, ponds and a pool. The breakfast was good and the location is handy in the heart of Negombo. The only frustration was that the wi-fi signal was quite patchy, so that often video chats with friends overseas were not possible due to the poor connection. Apart from that, the place was great.

5/5 is a grade of expectations being met and far exceeded. If you're looking for a luxury five star beachfront resort, Gomez Place is not it. What it is, is a charming quaint guesthouse with a small number of non standard rooms interconnected with gardens and courtyards in a manner reminiscent of the house in the TV series 'Tales of the City'. A place to feel at home and savour the ambience of an urban Sri Lankan residence. The staff were extremely pleasant and eager to make the guests feel welcome. Starting with a hotel arranged 3 am pickup at Colombo airport to a late night drop off everything was flawless. Best of all was the owner/host Gomez who seemed to be able to read your mind and arrange for all manner of services. The fellow guests were friendly but not intrusive and tended to be older single travellers like myself. I'm heading back to Sri Lanka later this month and will definitely stay there again.

This was my first stay When I arrived to Sri Lanka for the first time. I can already tell now, that I am coming back to this lovely hotel. All the staff are so kind and sweet, and everyone is always smiling. They are hardworking and everything in the hotel is so clean. The breakfast is flawless, I had different juices everyday, and so delicious fruit plates. The room was huge, and so Nice with a full refridgeriator. Ac in the room and such a Nice bathroom with plants and open area. Mr. Gomez and the rest of the staff made the beginning of my vacation so Nice and perfect. I will also recommend to use Suda as your driver, because not only does He speak great english, but He also knows the area so good, so He can tell good and funny stories about Sri Lanka. At last I will also Thank Tharusha who welcomed me with open arms. I feel that I have made connections for life thanks to Gomez Place.

Awesome location close to beach and street with cafes restaurants shops and all you need for a fun stay. I arrived around 2am after nightmare flight with delays from Australia and was lead to my room - I asked if they wanted me to pay/check in and told don’t worry about it and get good night’s sleep. Beautiful breakfast with great coffee, fruit, pastries and eggs from 8am. Small pool but was brilliant as nobody else using when I used it. Quaint and a bit vintage but kind staff who were truly lovely - it was a memorable stay!

I really enjoyed my stay at Gomez Place. I was greeted by Mr Gomez himself who explained everything to me and reassured me. The room was clean and comfortable. I particularly liked the location as it was close by to the beach, restaurants and shops. I felt safe and the staff were always helpful. I would recommend Gomez Place and will look forward to visiting again.

What a delightfully caring guest house here in Sri Lanka. I had a scheduled tour that was supposed to happen three days after my arrival but thanks to American Airlines managing to botch everything they touched, I ended up coming almost two days late minus my luggage. Mr. Gomez and staff had voluntared to arrange transportation which was gratefully accepted, but with everything going wrong he ended up rescheduling the airport pickup almost three times before it finally happened. I truly believe it was only due to the efforts of Mr Gomez and his staff that Qatar was able to step in and miraculously somehow get my luggage from Chicago to where it needed to be here days and days ago. This is not a gigantic mega resort at all but a delightful guest house where you will be greeted with genuine smiles and warmth. Have to love a breakfast with fresh fruit that is prepared by someone else and beautifully presented. You truly cannot go wrong staying here. They offered to schedule some tours which if I didn't have a tour group to meet with later, I would have cheerfully accepted because I know they would have done another wonderful job.

10 years later we returned to GOMEZ PLACE, which I had rated 5/5. Well, the level of welcome is still the same, thanks in particular to the staff who are very attentive to customers and very helpful. For example, on arrival, we noticed a problem with the water pressure to the shower and they sent the plumber immediatly. The breakfast is copious (a plate with 3 fruits, a fruit juice, fried eggs or an omelette), tea or coffee, slices of sandwich bread with butter and jam. The room is very large (we were in room 17 around 30m²) as is the attached bathroom and the bed is very comfortable. there is a fan and also air conditioning.

A place of peace and eccentric beauty. The staff were super friendly and the owner did things that were requested about 10 minutes before they were requested. The place was spotless and the room large and opened on to well manicured lawn and a delightfully unusual garden. The bathroom was large and the shower area was open air and led off the main bathroom. If you felt like it you could enjoy a real rain shower! Breakfast, included in the price, was delightful and served with a smile from all the staff. A place to enjoy peace and tranquility in an adult atmosphere and friendly staff and owner.
