Sedona Motels

I was underwhelmed, and frankly would not recommend staying here. The mountain view was over a busy road and row of buildings, with cars, exhaust, and noise a plenty. Nearby restaurants were surprisingly weak, and the shops were filled mostly with junky tourist stuff. But what really messed me up was the way the heater turned on and off throughout the night. It was either too hot or too cold and I woke up constantly. We ended up leaving a day early, loosing the money for that night as I just couldn't take it. Our room was clean, but old and tired, and it was smaller than I expected. If there was a way to get ice, we did not find it, and of course since this motel is not staffed there was no one to ask. We ended up buying ice from the grocery store a few blocks down the street. There was a fridge in the room, and I believe a microwave as well, thought we didn't use it. The personless check-in worked fine. I got a text with the door code which worked fine the first try. No worries on that front. Bottom line: Skip this place and pay up for one of the nicer places with a pleasant view. Or just skip Sedona and try one of the other mountain towns. Could I redo our trip, I would have skipped Sedona and spend time in Prescott, which had way more going on and a really fun vibe.

Wir haben zwei Nächte im Sedona Hilltop Inn verbracht und hatten einen Queen Room gebucht. Es handelt sich um ein klassisches Motel mit Außenkorridoren. Für den Roadtrip sehr praktisch. Unser Zimmer hatte eine gute Größe. Die Ausstattung war nicht sonderlich modern, aber geschmackvoll und funktionell. Es gab Mikrowelle, Kühlschrank, Kaffeemaschine und Bügelbrett. Uns gefiel das Tageslichtbad, das ebenfalls gut ausgestattet war. Die Eismaschine war während unseres Aufenthaltes leider kaputt. Besonderes Highlight war für uns die sehr schöne Terrasse mit herrlichem Ausblick. Hier konnte man super ein Getränk oder Takeaway genießen. Die Lage ist ebenfalls prima, Sedona Uptown ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Dort sind zahlreiche Geschäfte und Restaurants. Wir haben gut bei Chipotle gegessen. Zahlreiche Wandergebiete erreicht man am besten mit dem Auto.
