Do not stay here. I booked an apartment for one month but had to leave a few days early. On check out they told me that I owed over 22,500KsH (175 USD) for electricity. I told them that this couldn't possibly be correct. As a single guest, I'm out most of the day so I knew that this bill couldn't be right. The apartment only has one air conditioning unit, which is not in use daytime. My business associate, who owns a large air conditioned apartment nearby and has 3 children tells me his monthly bill is usually around 8,000 KsH. They refused to reduce the bill, so I reluctantly paid and then went to pack my suitcase. Once in the apartment, the power went off leaving me in darkness so I went to see the manager. He said that there was a fault on the line so I asked him why it was only affecting my apartment and none of the others? He couldn't answer. This kept on happening for the next hour with my electricity supply being cut off and me having to ask them to switch it back on. When the taxi arrived to take me to the airport, the manager came into the apartment to inspect it. He said that an item of cutlery was missing ( a fork) I told him that it was not. He then went to the bathroom and noticed the faulty wiring in the shower. He suggested I might have done it, so I asked him if he thought that I had installed the shower myself? I told him that I had reported the problem to him on the day I FIRST moved in and that nobody had done anything about it. I've attached photos as proof so you can see for yourself.
