Pelican Hotel

We didnt realize our stay was in the height of spring break and curfews...staff was amazing, made us feel safe and went out of their way to accommodate us. We stayed in the space room, itnwas AMAZING!!!

I would rate my stay at the hotel a solid three out of five. Initially, I was inclined to give it a four, but the customer service left much to be desired. For instance, when I inquired about the nearest beach access, a front desk attendant directed me to a location that turned out to be the most distant one. Additionally, the same attendant advised me that guests must wear a plastic wristband as a security measure. Without this band, entry is denied after the restaurant hours, which I found silly. I would not walk around or dine at a fine restaurant with a plastic wristband. Lastly, the food was mediocre at best, but it was priced at several notches above. Aside from that, the hotel was clean, conveniently located, and well-maintained.

The staff was exceptional. They went above and beyond expectations at every level. Location is fantastic. Property is very well maintained and nostalgic. Loved it.

I booked my stay at the Pelican because it had good reviews and looked nice... but I had no idea how tremendous this 33 room actually is until I arrived. I work in luxury hospitality and have high expectations, and the staff of the Pelican consistently blew my expectations out of the water. Turns out the hotel is owned by the founder of Diesel, the clothing brand. You can feel and see that every detail of the hotel was intentionally designed. The staff are so personable, the restaurant is top notch (I ended up eating there 4 times because it was so good), and the hotel reserves chairs on the beach for you. A month later, I literally think about my stay at the Pelican at least once a day and I cannot wait to return --- and I will soon, simply because the combination of The Pelican and Miami Beach can't be beat. I've stayed at Waldorfs and all kinds of big flashy hotels. I want the Pelican. Honestly, this hotel is so great that I didn't want to post a review in fear that the secret could get out and I'd have trouble booking the room(s) I want when I return, but the hotel and staff certainly deserve a congrats on what they have created. I'm currently making plans to return in May and am basically dreamy about it (lol) and I've never felt that way about a hotel before (except for maybe the Broadmoor in Colorado). This is not a paid review, but how I feel. If you're going to Miami, stay at the Pelican. You'll be so glad you did.

The front desk attendant was awesome! He was kind ad super friendly! We loved our themed rooms! Also loved the bar. Location was perfect for us! Bed could be a little softer but we did sleep good. Can’t wait to come stay again and eat at restaurant! And try another themed room! Thanks!

Great staff and location. The property is in the center of so much activity. Parking is expensive so Uber if you can because of the daily fee for valet.

I should have done my homework regarding no gym, pool, microwave, convenient parking, and other amenities. Anyone interested in the property also should be aware that it is a small and older building, the elevator repeatedly fails, valet parking can take up to 30 min to get your car, it is noisy as HELL outside the property, and management services are disorganized.

We had an excellent stay at the Pelican Hotel! The front desk staff were wonderful and got us checked in to our room early. The room was very comfortable and clean with cool decor and comfortable beds. There was a bar and restaurant conveniently downstairs, and the hotel itself was directly across from the beach. Hotel guests can use beach chairs and umbrellas as well. The area was very lively on a Saturday but we couldn’t hear any of the noise from our room. I would highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to come back! Thanks again!
