During my trip to Mérida, I had the pleasure of staying at Casa Flor de Mayo, a charming and cozy retreat that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the friendly and helpful staff made me feel right at home, attending to all my needs with genuine hospitality. The owner, Matt, is great and his recommendations for restaurants and sites were spot-on, making my exploration of the city truly memorable. He's a great source of information for anything you may need. The hotel itself is a haven of comfort. The lovely courtyard and serene pool were perfect spots to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Every morning, I enjoyed a delicious breakfast featuring fresh fruits and omelettes in a cozy dining area. Also, had great conversations with the staff and got to know more about the local culture. Casa Flor de Mayo's central location made it easy to explore Merida's main attractions while still offering a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. In summary, my stay at Casa Flor de Mayo was exceptional. The warm, welcoming atmosphere, combined with Matt's personalized recommendations, made for an unforgettable visit to Merida. I highly recommend Casa Flor de Mayo for anyone seeking a memorable stay in this beautiful city.

Beautiful hotel and amazing staff. The hotel is very inviting, nicely decorated, from the outside to the pool, the breakfast area and the rooms. It’s so cozy, you feel at home immediately. Very friendly and welcoming reception. The owner and all of the staff are amazing! Everyone is very helpful, has plenty of suggestions depending on your preferences, for food or trips in the area. The ladies making breakfast are so kind! We made use of the kitchen/dining area and they have filtered water. We were on a road trip and had a few more stops to go. We decided to come back at the end of our trip to stay another night.

Back in March 2020 we stayed a few days at this Inn, but our plans were truncated by the Pandemic. However. just a few weeks ago, we stayed there a second time (four nights) and we were finally able to complete our plans. Even then, in 2020, we were highly impressed by the service, cleanliness and beauty of Casa Flor de Mayo. Now, as the title of this comments says it, we lack words to express our satisfaction. Every aspect of our stay was nearly perfect. We liked the location, near Paseo Montejo, the quietness of the rooms, with only some bird songs and the occasional dog barking, and most of all, the gracious and very attentive services of the personnel. The daily breakfast (included in the rates) was slightly different every day, but it never failed to be healthy and delicious. On this I would like to add a tip, just a block away, on the opposite side of the street, there is a bakery with a good selection of Mexican pastries and bread. Go there, buy some of your favorites, and enjoy them with the fresh coffee at breakfast, or with a cup of tea at any time of the day. BTW, this Inn offers a communal dinning room and kitchen to prepare your own food if you wish. Another example of the good services we received was our laundry. Prior to arrival we had accumulated a little more than a week's load of it. We gave it to the personnel and in about 24 hours, it was returned to us all perfectly folded and ultra-clean, and for a very reasonable fee. My wife and I are not into swimming or pools in general, but the one you have at Casa Flor de Mayo will always look inviting. Also, if you wish, you can arrange for private transportation services through the hotel. In our case, we preferred to find those through private references. The only minor imperfection we found during our stay, was a plumbing problem in the bathroom. The cold water pipe did have enough pressure. I communicated this problem to management, and they really tried hard to fix it, but apparently they could not get the required help on time. We were offered the option to change room, but we decided the minor difficulty was not that serious. I would like to end these comments saying that anyone heading to Merida, and wishing to stay at a small, friendly, cozy, and convenient Inn, will not go wrong staying at Casa Flor de Mayo.

Similar to earlier reviews, I am hesitant of giving this review as I am afraid we will never be able to get reservations again due to demand. The perfect place for a couple. An absolutely beautiful genuine Merida guest house. The ambiance is very relaxing and the staff are phenomenal. The pool is very relaxing at the end of the day. There is a refrigerator and freezer for you to use. There is a Walmart a couple blocks away where you can get wine and such. Uber and taxis are very accessible. Uber rides for us averaged $2 USD. The hotel staff will hook you up with a private driver that will take you to two Cenotes, Uxmal, a hacienda, chocolate factory and a genuine Yucatan restaurant....minus lunch, the car trip was $100 American. Our driver was terrific as he knew all the ins and outs. For this trip bring water shoes or sandals for the cenotes and good walking shoes for the rest of the stuff. We enjoyed fresh fruit, eggs, fresh juice and coffee every morning at the guest house. You can arrange to have laundry done with 24 hours notice. Wi-Fi is great and all is clean, clean, clean.

Everything about Flor de Mayo is excellent, the owners Matt and Selene are charming and totally available for any need you might have. The staff; especially Jorge, Mari Tere and Mari Toni spoiled me and made me feel like part of a wonderful family, imagine I even helped to decorate the Christmas tree! Beautiful memories of this gem of a hotel!

This hotel would have been a perfect subject for Frida Kahlo’s painting. It must have been recently refurbished because it was spotless and very well kept. It is cozy and familiar and the staff highly professional. Highly recommended!!!!

Es un hotel pequeño, muy bonito, tranquilo y muy limpio. Excelente atención de todos, muy amables, siempre dispuestos a recomendarte lugares para comer y visitar. Nos hospedamos 7 días y nos incluía el desayuno, el cual consistía de fruta, huevo (siempre guisado de manera diferente), pan, jugo y café o té. Muy buenas porciones y delicioso! Las habitaciones son muy cómodas, cuentan con aire acondicionado y cuenta con las amenidades necesarias. Muy buena ubicación, está a 2 cuadras del Paseo Montejo, es una zona segura, sin problema por encontrar lugar de estacionamiento. Totalmente recomendable!!

Accueil parfait, multiples suggestions culinaires et activités dans les environs, réactivité pour la moindre demande, chambres superbes, hôtel trés bien situé, petit déjeuné assez classique mais satisfaisant, une superbe expérience pour visiter la ville de Mérida et ses alentours.

Il boutique hotel è semplicemente fantastico.Curato con gusto infinito in tutti i suoi dettagli senza risultare stucchevole o pacchiano.Pulitissimo.La nostra stanza era enorme con due spazi vivibili molto grandi e la presenza di 2 letti matrimoniali comodissimi.E' situato in una via tranquillissima a 10 minuti a piedi dal centro della magica Merida e a 2 da una serie di ristoranti e locali molto buoni.Colazione in parte espressa gustosissima.E tanti sorrisi da parte di tutto il cordialissimo personale (dalla reception,alla cucina,al proprietario che si prende cura con discrezione e gentilezza dei suoi ospiti). Aiutano a soddisfare qualsiasi esigenza e organizzano tour molto apprezzabili.A tal proposito,menzione d'onore per l'autista Raphael (spero si scriva così),che ha portato in escursione un giorno intero me e il mio compagno Riccardo.Super simpatico e davvero gentile.Tutto il viaggio in questo paese straordinario,resterà nel mio cuore.E sicuramemte i giorni a Merida ancora di più grazie anche all'hotel Casa Flor De Mayo.Accorrete numerosi!
