Woodford Bridge Country Club

Newly renovated and good sized rooms. Bed was very comfortable. Particularly liked having a fridge, plates and utensils. The Country Club is located in a very quiet and peaceful area, allowing us to have a much need recharge. We would recommend to our family and friends.

I always try and book a pre Xmas stay somewhere, with my children . I came across Woodford Bridge on a booking site , and it seemed to offer great value for money so I thought why not. There are some positives and negatives which I ll list below. Arrived on a dark and gloomy Tues evening, the roads are not particularly great , potholes galore in the area. In the dark its quite scary roads too, in the middle of nowhere !! Check in was straightforward, nice friendly staff , however I found they have a tendency to talk amongst themselves and leave you waiting for too long before saying " can I help you "? Apartment was very clean , modern and warm. Incredibly happy with the size of it. Easy location to the games room for my boys, which they enjoyed very much, the pool table and table tennis. However the lighting is not great around the steps , and also the warning paint on edges of steps have worn off , so I had to be very careful walking back to apt in the dark. Used swimming facilities , nice , clean , quiet . The other facilities looked good . Went to the pub on site one night. Lovely little place , although totally devoid of atmosphere, hopefully better at weekend when live music on. They definitely need something. Prices of wine extortionate 175ml for 7.25 . I had to contact reception as the seal around the oven was coming off, did this in the morning before we went to atlantic village. On our return it was still hanging off, so had to contact reception again. Although I really liked the apt , there are a couple of improvements needed I feel. Firstly I could not find a chopping board or fish slice in the kitchen. As a single female with 2 children I also did nt feel safe as the apts can be accessed by anyone , there needs to be a key card reader on the entrance to the block , not just the apt door. Overall , it was a nice enough stay but I Don t think we d return. Probably much nicer in the Summer , and more going on in the area

A time share complex selling rooms available on an ad hoc basis. Apartment had a good kitchen, dining are, lounge, separate bedroom and bathroom. Leisure facilities excellent. Location in the middle of very scenic countryside lovely but a drive to nearest town. Room needed a refreshing coat of paint but did not impinge on our stay. Restaurant, bar and small farm shop on site at acceptable cost. Staff very helpful, efficient and friendly.

Great place and lovely location. We were very surprised by how lovely the apartment was the facilities. Great indoor pool and swimming facilities.

Room A32 - the entrance lobby and stairs smelt old , stale and like a old people’s home .The apartment very tired and in need of a good brighten up and a minimum of a proper clean ! Thick dust on mirror tops , headboard , ledges and skirting board.The door into the living area was wedged open by a fire extinguisher (illegal) . The sofa was so old , worn and grubby my wife didn’t sit on it during our 2 night stay . The bathroom was not good ! Flaking paint on the floor from a door under the sink wedged in as it had no hinges , the mastic around the bath under the shower was mouldy & whole room needed re-grouting. The facilities advertised were a joke ! Restaurant only open from 5pm- 8pm. Very limited menu too. Pool- need to book a space ( not told this at booking ) and 3 days before a review stated sauna and jacuzzi didn’t work so we didn’t bother . If you fancy a full body massage it’s £50 which is ok except only open Tuesday , Wednesday & Thursday so no relaxing long weekend. If I was being generous I’d rate . this a 3 star at best . Certainly never coming back big let down .

Lovely holiday as this resort is well located in beautiful countryside and half hour from lots of beaches. Reception staff are absolutely fantastic and very helpful. Apartment was very clean but the balcony was filthy dirty with cobwebs. Miss the more frequent housekeeping we used to get. The new thatched roof is gorgeous but overall the place is looking a bit unloved with overgrown scruffy borders. I don`t buy that poor excuse of feeding the bees! Farm shop is helpful for essentials and meals in restaurant were very good.

Arrived at reception to be told we have been given a free upgrade which was a result straight away. The location of our accommodation was fantastic and we had the bonus of country side views. Staff were friendly and we literally had the pool, jacuzzi and sauna to ourselves. Had a meal on our last night and it was fantastic.

From arrival to our departure 4 days later, everything was more than satisfactory. We had a 2 bed, 2 bathroom property, which was spotless, with provision of all the necessary items, including towels, bin liners, dishcloth, dishwasher tablets etc. We honestly could not fault anything at all, have already recommended it to family & friends & will definately be returning.

Having stayed at Woodford Bridge a few times in the past, we were quite disappointed this time. Our check-in experience wasn't the best the reception had moved temporarily and unfortunately, the wind had folded over the redirection signs so we had to find where to check in. Once there we were made to feel inadequate compared to the "members" !! once in our apartment we noticed how dated it was starting to look, our sofa bed in the lounge didn't close properly, there was cigarette butt's on our terrace and the bathroom seriously needs refurbishment. Also when we returned from day trips in the evening we had no where to park !! We thought this must have been because of restaurant visitors ?? Not great when you are a paying guest.
