Glebe House Cottages

We had our son and new daughter- in- law’s wedding here at the beginning of June…. and everything was perfect! It is a stunning venue for a wedding..from the beautiful gardens to the lovely cottages situated around a pretty courtyard. We had Glebe House for the whole weekend and the cottages came into their own with everyone congregating in the courtyard and getting to know each other prior to the wedding.The marquee was a great size and extra special with the fountain in the middle! The food was exceptional for the reception and in the evening.Jay and his team of staff helped to make everything so easy to organise and nothing was too much trouble. They all worked really hard and it didn’t go unnoticed…..Thank you all! On the Sunday Jay organised an amazing BBQ which was enjoyed by all so that we could all enjoy a lazy afternoon by the pool. This was all topped off by the fabulous weather we had which enabled us to all enjoy all the facilities on offer. Jay and his staff were always on hand all weekend if needed but basically left us to enjoy our weekend without being intrusive. We wish Glebe House well in their future venture of the Wedding Barn ..we’re sure it will be a great success. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Glebe to anyone as an outstanding Wedding Venue. We are so pleased that our son and daughter-in-law decided on Glebe House ,they have some amazing memories to take away with them ….as do we! Thank you

Please pay no attention to the negative reviews, from what I understand, there's been one couple that have cancelled their wedding expecting their non refundable deposit back and now they have got their friends to write bad reviews on here which is so unfair. This is a small family business and the people are LOVELY. We got married here in August last year and 5 Stars does not do Glebe House justice! I and my new WIFE had the best EVER! If you're considering this venue, you have to go and see it for yourself as the feeling you get when walking around is quite something else, there's something in the atmosphere where you just know something quite special is going to happen here. My friends and family were constantly commenting on how amazing our wedding was, especially the beautiful formal gardens and the whole setting surrounded by beautiful countryside. Jay and his family are so soooooooo helpful! There was nothing that was too much trouble and he was able to take all the stress away, we could visit as many times as we liked and Jay went through every fine detail of the wedding and thought of so many things we hadn't considered which made the day just flow so easily. Make sure you go to the wine tasting too, it was such great fun!!! The food supplied was sensational. I could not believe the standard they managed to deliver considering we had 120 guests but each dish looked and tasted incredible. We went for the Deluxe package and all the food for the whole day was included, I recommend the bruschetta canapés and pork belly main dish, but the catering team were so flexible and had food options for all dietary requirements. We had the cottages for 3 nights, and it all felt like one big holiday for everyone. Jay made us pizzas the night before the wedding and the day after we were able to have our own bbq and a pool party. The swimming pool is sooooo warm! I can't thank Jay and the whole team enough for a wonderful wedding weekend that we will talk about in years to come.

I would give 0 but it won't let me. DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE. We booked our wedding well in advance for May 2024. We went for a visit and it all seemed perfect. Jay appeared lovely face to face. Oh how things changed. We went for a visit woth our parents about a year out. We saw Jay and he explained that they would be building a barn. He walked us in the far field on thw far edge of the site and explained that was where it would be built and should be done by our wedding. He offered us the barn upgrade at no extra cost. We asked if we could still have the marquee wedding we booked and we're told yes. The barn build would be hidden behind a massive hedge. We were happy enough with that. The marquee was lovely and right in front of the wooded play area so rhe kids would be safe. 6 months later and we get a message telling us that the barn is actually being built where the marquee currently is and if we want the marquee we would have to have it over the outdoor water fountain on his drive way next to his house. Far from the picturesque vission we were origionally given. Can you imagine drunk people and 30 children around a water fountain that size? We then saw the planning permissoon for the barn only to see that the marquee location has always been the set atea for the new barn and we hade been lied to consistently. He even took the time to show us where we would be coming into the marquee knkwong full well it would not be there. We challenged Jay and found him to be very rude and essentially money grabbing. We asked to cancel as they had changed the terms of what we had book and essentially mis sold us our wedding. He told us no and as it was past 6 months not only would we not get our 2k deposit back but he wanted a further 2k for late cancellation. We have take this further with our credit card company so we shall see. I wouldn't trust the business with anything let alone a wedding. The accomodation is also not luxury so please be aware of that as you will not be able to see it when you visit for a viewing. We have been told that the rooms are getting an upgrade only to be told that the barn build means that will not be happening. I'm glad we found somewhere else and we are not having to stress or have our family stay here. Particularly as we have just seem that this barn has only just had its frame put up and the venue will likely be a building g site. I'm very pleased we are no longer using here 32 days out. Please do yourselves a favour and steer clear. There are many other venues in the area comparable in price but more professional and better quality. Please don't trust them. You will be promised the earth but be lied to to secure your money which you will not get back easily.

Not sure where to begin. There is too much to say in one message. I’ll start by saying that this was our first wedding venue we had gone to and at first we loved it! The grounds are really lovely and Jay seemed pleasant. We had asked to view the accommodation as this was important for us due to having family flying from all over to be with us. We were told that they had guests in the accommodation currently as they let it out as bed n breakfast when there’s no weddings. This was fair enough and we understood but they did not offer us another time to come view it when it was free. I had asked several times bad got the same response. Communication wasn’t great with Jay and wasn’t great when we asked certain questions. We finally managed to see the accomidation out of chance as I took my dad, and my fiance to the venue to show him around just as the wedding that they had that weekend was leaving. I was really upset with what I had seen. It had really scruffy furniture, very dated, there was mould on walls and shower trays, ripped in the leather sofas (large ones), pain peeling of walls, sinks cracked. I wouldn’t be so shocked if this wasn’t advertised as LUXURY!! 😡 I didn’t feel comfortable asking for people to pay to stay here as wedding guests and I would not had felt good getting ready there. It would be really lovely if they would also reply to my emails regarding our cancellation but unfortunately we are being Ignored. Hopefully people don’t make our mistakes !!

Wonderful stay at Glebe House Cottages. The cottage was very clean and well kitted out. The grounds are lovely, very well tended. Great outdoor swimming pool and lots of children’s play areas. The hosts Jay Nick and Polly Brewer are so helpful with any questions. I’d recommend a car to explore the beautiful countryside as it’s in quite a remote area.

Lovely location, cottages roomy but starting to get tired now . Plenty of room . Not very helpful when you complain Was told it’s only stains on the mattress and I was strange for looking at my mattress. I disinfected them , put back the protector, sheet & a folded quilt before I could lay on the bed . I left it at that as I didn’t want to ruin my daughters wedding . Everything else there was fine .

Everything was lovely. We attended my friends sons wedding which was from Thursday to Saturday . The owner let us get on with doing what we wanted re decorating everywhere. It was all really fantastic. The exclusivity of having the whole place to ourselves was fantastic. The only thing I would say is it would be useful to have more toilets near the marquee and the use of a microphone for ceremony would have been better as I couldn’t hear anything.

Glebe House Cottages was everything we wanted it to be for the marriage of daughter. Significantly, from a party of 120 there was not one piece of negative feedback#, nothing was overlooked. From the initial visit, then the wine tasting (epic) and the wedding weekend, Jay and the team couldn't have been more helpful from the outset to completion. We paid exactly what we asked for and having shopped around several venues in North Cornwall/Devon we found this to have both, that all important VIP touch whilst also being value for money. Booking for the weekend allowed us the feeling of exclusivity for the whole venue. The wedding day was exceptional and the chill out day (Sunday) allowed circa 70 of us to decompress, drink beer and BBQ in the sun. The rooms were all very comfortable and had everything you'd expect in a self catering cottage. The pool, gardens and grounds are exceptional. Thanks Jay, you and the team are superstars; your ability to melt into the background and run things seamlessly is a credit to your professionalism and dedication. #If I could change one thing it would be the coal BBQ's for gas; I blame myself in part for being a gas covert.

Rubbish. Stay away Me and my partner booked a wedding at glebe house cottages . We visited and everything seemed lovey so put a deposit down Unfortunately we were then hit with lots of extras amounting to over £1,000 extra which we were unable to pay so had to cancel Jay seems very nice face to face but think money is to big an object for him as it’s all he seems to care about After lots of messages back and forth they have been useless and made our wedding experience really bad Really do not recommend using glebe house cottages for your wedding venue!
