Premier Inn London Southwark (Tate Modern)

Conveniently located in a safe and well serviced area with Tesco, Sainsbury's, restaurant pubs Just steps away, the hotel itself Is very clean, safe and soundproof. Bed was astoninshly comfortable! They provide toiletries and coffee/tea.

Very well situated, near to Tate Modern, lots of restaurants, Southwark tube 5 min walk away. Received a mini bottle of Prosecco and some chocolates as it was my birthday whilst there - a lovely gesture! Arranged breakfast for us at the nearby Premier Inn as restaurant was being refurbished. This was complimentary. Left our bags whilst we visited the Tate Modern. All in all, very friendly and helpful.

Overheated room leading to a dreadful night’s sleep. Staff who think they can control the temperature of the room rather than allowing the guest to operate the in room A/C. Had to visit reception several times rather than retiring to bed at the time I wanted to and argue to eventually gain control of the in room thermostat.. Only one towel in a room occupied by a couple and a smelly drain in the Bathroom.

Amazing experience thanks to the superior hospitality from the staff, great breakfast, top notch location, and comfy rooms. So much that’s really great about this hotel which is remarkable value for this part of London, but all that wouldn’t mean much without the multi-tasking front-house team, they’re awesome.

Beds were comfy. Rooms clean. Only 1 towel between 4 on arrival due to supply issues. Breakfast was a terrible experience. Queued to 20 minutes outside in the cold. When seated we were very disappointed by the lack of items. No pastries, no fresh fruit, no butter, limited cereals, no yogurt, no pancakes or jams. Apparently this was yet again due to supply issues. Not even nearly good enough. Sort it out Premier Inn. You know how many guests are booked so there should be enough towels and food items or change he your supplier.

We just wrapped up a 7 day stay at the Premier Inn Southwark Tate Modern with our family of 5, including kids 10, 12 and 12. I’ll start with a few positives 1) proximity to the Southwark Tube station is great 2) most of the staff was friendly and helpful Now the negatives: 1) we had 2 rooms and our keys did not work for either room the entire 7 day stay. We would request a new key every time we entered the hotel, go upstairs for it not to work, then have to go back downstairs to find a staff member to unlock our rooms with their master key. This happened EVERY SINGLE time for 7 days. Sometimes this would take 30 mins plus because we would have to hunt down a staff member. 2) our last night of our stay the fire alarm went off from 12am-3am with no great plan in place to take care of the issue. The one staff member assured guests there was no fire but the system was faulty so it was okay to go back to our rooms to “try” to sleep with the sirens blaring. Once again we didn’t have a working key to get back to our room at almost 3am and the staff member was busy trying to contact help. This was a terrible way to end our trip. We have headed home completely exhausted. I’ve emailed the hotel about our issues and waiting a response. hopeful for a reimbursement for the endless issues and a full night of zero sleep!
