Wembar Hotel

The most horrific place! Avoid at all costs! Left me in tears!!! This is long but please read!!!! First off we had to wring a ring door bell then got let in, the corridor as you walk in is very narrow and was full of other customers luggage and towels etc it was a mess!! We couldn’t even stand at the desk properly due to the luggage etc being everywhere! We arrived early and we were aware of that however the man told us we were early I said that’s not a problem do you know roughly what time it’ll be ready so we can plan what we were going to do and he ran up to check and left us waiting for about 5 minutes then finally shouted down the stairs to us that the room was ready. As we were going up he asked us if we had the code for our room etc which we didn’t so he gave us the code out loud in front of everyone (there wasn’t even a code to get into the room so not sure what he meant.) it was so compact we were trying to squeeze past another couple trying to get to our room, we walked in and the stench of faeces that hit us was vile(made me gag…a lot) The mirror was cracked, the wallpaper was ripped and had strange stains all up the walls, the shower was covered in rust, the window was filthy, there was a random metal thing sticking out facing us from the window, wooden stick/small bean sticking up from the back of the headboard of the bed, dirt rubbish and crumbs behind and under the bed, the worst thing was the mould! There was a big bit of mould behind the headboard! we then straight away booked another hotel for the night which was not in the budget, when we then got up and went back downstairs to hand our key in he greeted us and we said we were leaving and not staying here the night as this is unacceptable! He requested we show him so we did and he didn’t see an issue with it and was beginning to get rude to us. We then left and I complained and requested a refund online through trip.com and directly through them which both times got refused as the hotel said the room was clean and they cleaned it for us with us in the presence and they allegedly asked if we’d like to stay in a different room. All of which was complete lies!!!!!!

Hotel is well kept and clean. Very close to earls court station. Few minutes walk away. Only problem encountered, no means of turning on the aircon and we styaed at the basement.

Bad check in experience. No lifts. Tv does not work. Seriously over priced. Felt robbed.

its fine but if you need something and message them they wont answer you

My room was in the basement floor. It was dirty, partially floor covering, that looks very dirty. It was cold (despite summer time), it was loud due to thin walls and fire alarm system being tested in the night time. This one is not value for money, I have paid 150 pounds per two nights.

The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable, but it would be nicer if there were a chair in the room.
