My stay here was truly memorable. The room was traditionally Japanese and very comfortable. The host was always kind, helpful, and quick to respond whenever I needed anything. Bicycles were freely available for guests, which made it easy and enjoyable to explore the area, I was able to cycle around the lake in just a few hours, and the views were absolutely stunning. If you’re feeling motivated, I highly recommend waking up before sunrise and biking about 20 minutes to the Chureito Pagoda. Watching the sun rise behind Mount Fuji from there is a breathtaking and unforgettable experience. This stay will remain one of the most touching and special memories of my time in Japan.

Das Kaneyamaen ist ein wunderschönes Hotel – wohin man auch schaut, gibt es etwas Schönes zu entdecken. Ich kann das Personal nur wärmstens empfehlen! Alle waren so zuvorkommend und freundlich, und es war ein Vergnügen, sich mit unserem Kellner beim Abendessen zu unterhalten, selbst mit meinen begrenzten Japanischkenntnissen. Übrigens: Das inkludierte Abendessen ist ein 8-Gänge-Menü – das wusste ich bei der Buchung gar nicht. Absolut empfehlenswert! Die Thermalquelle auf dem Dach war ein absolutes Highlight, die sollte man sich nicht entgehen lassen. Ich würde auch empfehlen, die kostenlosen Yukata-Leihgaben zu nutzen. Es gab so viele Annehmlichkeiten, dass ich sie gar nicht alle nutzen konnte. Wenn ich die Reise wiederholen könnte, würde ich definitiv mehr als eine Nacht dort verbringen. Das Kaneyamaen sollte unbedingt auf Ihrer Liste der Onsen-Hotels stehen!

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Bessho Sasa genossen. Die Aussicht auf den Fuji ist einfach unglaublich, vor allem vom Onsen-Bereich auf dem Dach. Das Abendessen im Halbpensionspaket ist ein komplettes japanisches Menü mit neun Gängen, das perfekt ist, wenn Sie wie ich ein Fan der japanischen Küche sind. Das Zimmer war kleiner als erwartet, aber es reichte für uns drei, da jeder von uns sein eigenes, sehr bequemes Einzelbett zum Schlafen hatte. Die Ausstattung ist komplett und der Service ist ausgezeichnet. Würde auf jeden Fall wieder dorthin zurückkehren.

Received the instructions to check in days before our stay, and instructions are super clear. The house is very clean, and comes with everything we need - stove, washer and other basics. Ground floor is the living hall and bathroom, upstairs there’s one bedroom and outer area where are floor bed are placed. We went there with average temperature of 4 degrees so the floor were freezing cold and it took a while to activate the heat. Location wise pretty good, right opposite there’s a 7-11, and down the street 10-15 mins walk there’s the Hikawa Clock Shop, but we don’t see any restaurant nearby maybe because we were there during New Year closure

Mir hat alles gefallen, außer dass das Bett nicht sehr bequem war :( Das Restaurant im Erdgeschoss ist sehr gut. Es verfügt über einen Raum mit einem super Massagesessel.

Good - The cabins are well insulated for weather & noise. Well appointed with pyjamas, towels, various bathroom supplies (extra can be obtained from snack room) complimentary noodles or frozen meals & bottled water/beer. The beds were soft & comfortable. The cabins were spotless.Equiped with a/c, air purifier & fan heater. In a quiet area of the neighbourhood. Great view of Mt Fuji from the rooftop balcony. Short walk to restaurants & 7/11. Average - I had difficulty completing the pre arrival registration however the staff quickly responded to emails helping me through the process. There are e-bikes & scooters for hire onsite. But you must have access to a Japanese phone number to register the app to hire them. Tourist Sim & pocket wifi don't allow a phone number it is data only. Bad - it is further away from the train station than shown on Google maps - allow 1.6klm to either Fujisan or Fuji-Q stations. The carpark is dirt. The cars or wind make a lot of dust. When raining or wet the dirt turns muddy making your shoes & suitcase dirty.

I booked this hotel because the promotion made it seem luxurious, but the surroundings feel odd, almost like all the trees have been removed by purpose, littered with dry leaves and fallen branches. It feels dirty and poorly cared for. I was expecting a neatly landscaped area with grass and trees, but instead, the outside feels like a barren, lifeless space. That said, the inside of the room looks very good. The accommodation consists of two separate large caravan‑style rooms. They are not very spacious, but they are sufficient for a family of four. One of the rooms has slightly less living space because it includes a larger bathroom, with a full‑size bathtub. This is something you rarely find in Tokyo, where most bathtubs are quite small, so this was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, we struggled with the bathtub controls as it was written in Japanese, we couldn't use it after all. Also, the heating system are all labeled in Japanese, and there were no clear instructions in English. As a result, we didn’t figure out how to use the heating until the second night. We stayed for two nights in total. There is an outdoor spa area, which is interesting and enjoyable. We used it and found it quite good, although it is small. It works best for two people, three is a tight squeeze, and four would be uncomfortable. The sauna is decent and operates daily. Breakfast is served at set times rather than as a buffet, likely because the hotel only has 14 rooms. Guests must choose a time slot, such as 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 8:30. We chose 8:30. Breakfast is a set menu rather than self‑service. Each morning includes a starter, a main dish, and some small item to finish, well enough for us. The first day was Japanese‑style, with a rice‑based dish. The second day was Western‑style, with a sandwich as the main course and fried eggs with pork belly. The food tasted good, but we would have appreciated more water. We did not ask for refills, as staff left the area after serving. Finding the hotel is a bit difficult. The entrance sign is blocked by a car park sign, making it very easy to miss. You need to drive very slowly, or you will pass it without realising it. We spent several minutes searching before realising this was the place. Be prepared to see a car park with two signs, where one directly blocks the hotel’s entrance sign.

Ich kam gegen 13:00 Uhr im Hotel an, aber man sagte mir, der Check-in würde erst um 16:00 Uhr bestätigt werden. Also bin ich noch etwas herumgefahren, um etwas zu essen zu finden! Bei der Buchung hatte ich ausdrücklich ein Zimmer abseits der Aufzugshalle angefragt, aber ich bekam eines direkt davor! Was die Ausstattung angeht, merkt man dem Hotel definitiv an, dass es etwas altmodisch ist! Nichts Besonderes im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels, nichts Außergewöhnliches – es hat mich also nicht sonderlich beeindruckt! Ich habe keine Mahlzeiten gebucht, daher weiß ich nicht, wie das Abendessen ist, aber ich weiß, dass das Frühstück 1200 Yen pro Person kostet! Das Hotel ist mit einem Yakiniku-Restaurant (Grillrestaurant) verbunden, und an der Rezeption bekommt man einen Gutschein für ein kostenloses Getränk, den man dort einlösen kann. Ich habe ihn aber nicht genutzt! Das Onsen (Thermalbad) ist nur bis 9:00 Uhr geöffnet, und man muss um 10:00 Uhr auschecken!

Wir verbrachten eine Nacht in diesem Hotel am Fuji. Das Hotel liegt direkt neben dem Vergnügungspark. Wir hatten eine Holzhütte mit privatem Onsen mit Blick auf den Wald und hörten daher keinen Straßenlärm, obwohl man die Nachbarn im 2. Stock sehr deutlich hören konnte. Besonders morgens, wenn alle die Treppe herunterkommen … Das Hotelzimmer ist einfach, das Bett bequem. Der Föhn ist ein Witz. Wenn Sie lange Haare haben, bringen Sie Ihren eigenen mit, sonst dauert es ewig. Das Schönste an diesem Hotel ist natürlich das Onsen. Das Frühstück ist unterdurchschnittlich. Wir waren während der Feiertage dort und haben den dreifachen Preis bezahlt. Ich kann nicht sagen, dass es das wert war, aber mit dem Originalpreis muss es ok sein.

Das Wetter war bewölkt, sodass wir den Fuji nicht sehen konnten, aber die Aussicht rund um das Hotel war wunderschön, der Besitzer war freundlich und das Frühstück war köstlich. Die Taxifahrt von der Busasan-Station zum Hotel war teurer als die Taxifahrt zur Shinjuku-Station, aber der Hotelbesitzer hat mich zweimal zur Busasan-Station mitgenommen. Noch besser war es, weil es in der Unterkunft eine heiße Quelle gab und es ein Ort ist, den ich bei Gelegenheit gern noch einmal besuchen würde.
