Orchid House Baja

Beautiful beautiful! I’ve been to La Paz many times, but I decided to stay away from the Malecón due to heavy noise. I loved the stay here. I found it very conveniently close the beaches like tecolote or Balandra(17-min drive) and close to the Malecón (7-10min drive) Orchid house offers a nice pool overseeing the beautiful ocean and Amazing sunsets! They offer good food and drinks by the pool bar. You have access to a very nice beach named El Caimancito. Staff is nice and friendly and always available to your needs. I slept very well A/C working,good showers, and comfy bed. If you rent a car then you are close to a lot of hot spots. I will definitely come back here again. Thank you 😊

Staff was incredibly helpful!! Views and location are breathtaking!! The facilities are clean and well taking care, we called maintenance and they approached right away!! And of course food has a unique touch! We’re are planning to go back soon! !

As a 50% part time traveler, here are my pros and cons for orchid house. I chose this property hoping to splurge a little and was disappointed in the service and the hotel. With that being said: Pros- The property is beautiful with a stunning view of the sunset. They do have a semi-private beach and a bar there for lounging around and drinks. The best thing about this place is Fernanda! She was very nice and attentive and gave us great recommendations as well as helping us as needed. If you have any questions or concerns, she is probably the only one who has ever worked in hospitality and will help the best she can. Cons- If you pay as much as this hotel costs and expect service, don’t bother staying here. The men in charge are useless and have never worked in hospitality. It’s mediocre at best service esp with the front desk guy. We did have a cockroach problem but it was resolved by Fernanda fairly quickly. It did leave us a little scared to sleep as there could have been more but I assume it’s a “that time of year” problem. We also had mosquitoes that bit me all night and ruined our sleep. The food is not very good so your best bet is to go into the city. Ubers are $10 usd each way every time so calculate that into your budget when staying here. The water is lukewarm at best so if you like a hot shower, this may not be the best option. Keep in mind they automatically add gratuity at the end for cleaning, security and front desk. Overall, avoid at all costs esp for how much it costs and how awful the service is. Avoid speaking to the guy (who apparently “is in charge” of the front desk) as he is pointless.

Best place in town, nothing like orchid house, best service, best place, I think no hotel in town like this. You feel like home. I’d rather prefer to stay here than in my own place, the food is excellent and all the people there are excellent I think have words to express the time I have there, thanks for everything

Bad sewage smell in the room. Made my pregnant wife sick. They could not change our room and they straight up refused to return money after we decided that we cannot stay there. Bottom line: think twice before booking here, make sure you are fine with the risk of paying hundreds of dollars for nausea-inducing stinking experience without any way out.

This was a very awaited trip, to celebrate Mothers Day. The room was very big, super clean, the bathroom also excellent. There is a balcony with a great view. Even this is a "boutique" high end hotel they treated us almost like garbage from the minute we stepped on the front desk. I've best treatment at government offices in Mexico. Everything we asked got an instant NO for an answer. Very bad attitude of the staff. At the pool is almost impossible to get somebody to get you drinks or food. So we went to the bar, the bar tender very nice. I ordered a very expensive beer. (we were 35º) In this luxury hotels you expect to pay more than in the corner store, but for a regular size beer, when my beer finally came it was like a sample a very very small bottle 190 ml to be exact. The breakfast is included for the price, which sounded nice because there are no other places nearby, you have to drive or take a cab. The "continental breakfast" was some fruit, 3 slices of bread some jelly and butter. Everything else you have to pay for it extra. We have been in hotels in other places of the world and the continental breakfast includes much more. We both are 69 years, and my wife has hip and knee replacement surgeries. It was VERY difficult to get someone to help us with our luggage, and when he finally arrived it was long face and bad mood. I'm not complaining about the prices, we were aware of them, but on this hotels you expect to get a good value for your money and not be treated as the "unwanted relative". Bottom line a Very Very bad experience, Cecy and Carlos Gargollo

This was one of the best vacation experiences for our family. We traveled with our 6 year old and another family who had a 10 year old. The hotel is very quiet but welcoming of kids. The staff was friendly and accommodating, a special thank you to Megan, Oscar, Alfredo at the bar and Alfredo at the front desk - they provided wonderful service and work so hard. The hotel’s restaurant food was exceptional - everything we tried was amazing. Loved the beach club and the easy beach access. We enjoyed both the pool and beach everyday. Already planning our next trip back.

Very nice place! The service could improve. The location is amazing. Very interesting house. The access to the beach is great. Very good option in La Paz Many excellent spots. We believe that the service and the menu options could be better.

We couldn’t fault our 4 night stay in La Paz. The property and its location are great for a 10 ish bedroom hotel (I maybe a coupe of bedrooms out). I personally think it’s the best situated hotel with private beach club in La Paz. About 10 minutes drive to downtown La Paz but Ubers are only $ 100 pesos. What grabs you when you first arrive is the number of staff, all helpful and smiling and trying to make your day run as smoothly as possible. We ate lunches and the included breakfasts here most days and loved it all. Especially the house burger and the fish wonton tacos at the beach club. A very special mention must go to Melissa (our first day at Orchid House was also her first day in her new job). You would never have known she was new, she looked after us so well at the beach club. Also Etrin (I don’t think that’s how it’s spelt…sorry) who was always busy at the beach making sure everyone was ok. The rooms are big, very clean and have absolutely everything you need. I seriously can’t think of a negative thing to say. We will deffo stay again on our next visit to La Paz.
