Maison d'hôtes "les Tillets"

This is a very special place. Hospitable hosts who made us feel so welcome, beautiful accommodation, fabulous grounds. We had charcuterie in the evening with wine and a fabulous breakfast the next day. The bed was so comfortable and the rooms were filled with beautiful furniture and interesting pieces. Gorgeous shower - even the shower gel was luxurious. We would love to stay again and for longer next time I hope.

With such great reviews you might think ‘can it be that good’? If you stay here you’ll be asking ‘how did that one person not rate this five stars’? Gil and James are such excellent hosts and were so helpful and friendly it will be a highlight of our trip. The place itself is like a dream and yes, it is as good as it looks in the photos. This was amazing!

This guesthouse is the gem of the village called Bois-Sainte-Marie. Beautiful hause with a small Annex. We stayed in the main house with the owners. The beautiful decoration is reflecting the personalities of the owners. The room we stayed was having Asian touches with objects and art they brought from their travels. James and Gilles were great hosts and made us feel "at home". The breakfast is a French style (viennoiseries and bread) with hand-made marmalades and variety of fruits. The French style garden is a piece of art itself and incudes a small swimming pool which is perfect for the warm days! Overall is an ideal place for a relaxing break in the French country side. I would suggest to grab the opportunity and book dinner with them (they do so on Fridays and Saturdays), Gilles is a great cook!!!

Already arriving in the village, you have a great sense of calm and beauty. Then you pass through the large wooden gates into the property and you are in a world that makes you feel welcome and being cared for. The details both in the grounds and the dwellings are really special. The more you look the more you see. The rooms and gardens are so tastefully done and maintained. The photos are completely accurate and its even better in real life. James and Gilles are the perfect hosts; attentive to detail; discreet but always on hand to make sure your stay will be what you deserve and much much more. If you want to pamper yourself and be pampered there is no better place.

We stayed here as part of a longer trip. We chose Les Tillets as a base for going to some of our favorite places in southern Burgundy, including walking and wine. The hosts were lovely and they have created a beautiful spot to relax. The village is tiny and quiet. The rooms and gardens at Les Tillets have been thoughtfully and tastefully designed. Breakfast is also prepared with care and included local fruit. Excellent! We will return.

Gilles and James welcomed us with refreshing drinks to their outstandingly refurbished and decorated 18th century house and garden. We stayed in the spacious room « Retour d’Asie » with the stunning niche bed. They served excellent breakfast with local products, which we were able to enjoy in the gem of their garden, and provided us with good recommandations for places to visit and restaurants to go. All in all, to my sense a perfect place for a quiet, relaxing, romantic stay and « slow bon-vivance ».

Les Tillets offers superlative service in an atmosphere of a stately home. The decor is outstanding with marvellous attention to detail which will enchant you wherever you look. The garden is simply wonderful. I stayed for a wedding in the area and had forgotten my bag at home! No worries, Les Tillets tied me over with the essentials and directed me to where I could purchase a new outfit and thanks to James and Gilles, crisis averted! I must say too that I found the linen sheets a definite plus. Moreover, Les Tillets is located close to a charming church which did not disturb my sleep in the slightest. I will certainly be looking for the next opportunity to stay there again! My warmest and most heartfelt thanks to the hosts!

Un petit coin de paradis dans une ancienne bâtisse décorée magnifiquement, au coeur d'un petit village dans une Bourgogne verte et paisible, loin de l'agitation des villes. Le jardin est magnifique, comme sorti d'un film d'une époque passée. Tout incite au calme et à la rêverie. James et Gilles sont adorables et source d'excellents conseils de visite pour découvrir leur jolie région. Je recommande vivement!!

Un cadre incroyable, magique. James est aux petits soins, nous avons été très bien accueillis. La maison d'hôte est une ancienne grange refaite avec goût avec une cuisine ultra bien équipée ainsi que d'un salon. Le jardin est splendide. Le petit déjeuner est ultra complet et local. Nous avons été enchantés de notre passage dans ce lieu. Petit plus pour nous : sa situation proche de très belles petites routes parfaites pour le vélo.
