Lavalon Seaview Hostel & Bar

I was in kupang only as transit, but ended up staying one more night and now i always transit im Kupang and stay at Lavalon! Such good price quality!! It feels amazing to wake up with the sound of the waves and a delicious pankake made by Edwin! Edwin is super nice, a great host and amazing cook - loved the squid and the fish, moringa soup, the heart of banana and the omelettes! He knows all the best deals and gives great advice on things to do in indonesia, he even helps booking for us! The room is cozy and clean with hot shower. I never had to turn on the air con, the fan is perfectly enough and you can feel the breeze from the sea. Hope to come back more times for a calm stay with a nice beer and conversation! The best and most authentic homestay. Edwin is real character and very knowledgable of East Tenggara island.. His location feels very homely and his breakfasts are excellent. We will come back after our trip from Rote island. Johanna & Carlos

Lovely seaside view of " Bounty - Captain Bligh Beach". Superhost Edwin Lerrick is knowledgable and friendly. My room was clean and comfy with air con, hot shower, great breakfast and fast wifi. Motorbike rental available. Highly recomended. !!!

Great location right next to the night market. I have a room with a private bathroom, and a window that looks straight out onto the ocean. Hot water, sink, air conditioning, and a fan. Edwin (owner) is a great guy with many stories to tell, and super helpful. Would recommend to anyone. 🙏🏼 Thank you Edwin.

Best location for exploring the night market .Right on the seafront. The host was fascinating with many stories and the breakfast was a tasty omelette and great coffee. Don’t stay in a soulless hotel stay here and support the locals as Edwin is saving up for aircon! The room had a nice sea view and a good cooling ceiling fan. Plus a book exchange all for a bargain price 😀

Although the place got quite damaged in 2021 cyclone, the sea view from the room is best in Kupang, best omelet we ate in years, and banana pancakes are delicious, Edwin is quite a character, full of stories, he was an actor in his young days, really good vibe, helps out local kids who many times are too poor to go to school cause they cant afford to buy a uniform. Thanks a lot Edwin!

We stayed at Lavalon for two nights and loved the place. The corner room has tremendous views to the sea. The hot shower has been the best for the last 3 months in East and West Timor. The breakfast was delicious. And we really enjoyed the company of the other travellers this place attracted. Thank you very much for your hospitality and all the information you gave us, Edwin. If we come to Kupang again, we will definitely stay at Lavalon again.

I really recommend staying at the Lavalon Hostel! The view from the room is just stunning. If you wake up early enough you can watch the sunrise from your bed. I never had better view from a hotel room! The owner Edwin knows everything about the region and will give you the best tipps. He also took me to the Crystal Caves and a beach near Kupang, which was amazing! If you like you can rent your own scooter at the hostel as well. Breakfast is included. You can have either pancakes or omelette and enjoy it with an amazing view to the sea.

We had a wonderful stay at Lavalon! Edwin filled our days with incredible stories and delicious food. Hands down the best breakfast omelette in Indonesia. For dinner, the squid is (or should) also be world famous. He was full of helpful tips and recommendations to explore Kupang and Timor. The room had great views of the beach and the location was very convenient. Can’t recommend highly enough!
