I recently stayed at Ibiza The Fern Resort & Spa, and I regret to say it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. This property is the very definition of mediocrity masquerading as hospitality. The Room: The room was subpar, with a bed cover that was noticeably dirty—an instant mood dampener. Basic amenities were barely functional; some plug points didn’t even work. It felt like no effort had been put into ensuring a comfortable stay. The Food: If there’s one thing this resort excels at, it’s quantity over quality. The food lacked any distinctive taste and felt like it was there just to tick a box. Not one dish stood out, and dining felt more like a chore than a pleasurable experience. The Facilities: The cherry on this disappointment cake was the fact that a couple hijacked most of the spaces for their personal photo shoot. As a result, other guests like us couldn’t move freely around the resort. It’s unacceptable that management did nothing to regulate this. Service: The epitome of terrible service came when we had to wait over 40 minutes for a bottle of water at night. When we finally went to complain, the water was handed to us reluctantly—as though they were doing us a favor! This level of indifference is inexcusable. Management: Adding insult to injury, as we waited for our cab—well within checkout time—the manager kept pestering us, asking when we were leaving. It felt intrusive and unprofessional, leaving us with a bitter aftertaste of an already terrible stay. This resort perfectly encapsulates everything wrong with hospitality in the region right now. We seem to have normalized substandard amenities and service while being overly polite in return. It’s high time such establishments were held accountable. I would not recommend Ibiza The Fern Resort & Spa to anyone seeking a quality experience. Save your time, money, and sanity—look elsewhere.
