Belle Vue Guest House

We have just returned today after spending 2 nights at Belle Vue. Everything about the stay was first class. We stayed in the Nottingham room which is beautifully decorated and has a lovely bathroom with great shower. Breakfast is cooked to order and was delicious. The owner was very friendly and gave us a lot of info about the area and restaurants. There was also a book in the room with everything you need to know. This is a beautiful place to stay and will definitely return.

An excellent experience, well looked after by owner Martyn with lots of local information. The accommodation was 1st class, clean, spacious and loads of character. Parking and lovely well kept garden and area to sit outside. Would definitely recommend and stay again

This is the loveliest B&B I have ever stayed in. We had a geocaching event to attend in Downham Market and we decided to make it a long weekend booking a 2 night stay here in Belle Vue Guest House, Denver. I was worried that we may be arriving too late so messaged the owner Martyn beforehand. I got a prompt and polite reply that our 7.30 / 8pm arrival time was fine. I always worry when booking a B&B that you are going to be causing a disturbance to the house owner on arrival this late in the evening. We had booked the Nelson Room on the ground floor as this was the last room available at the time. On arrival we were met in the car park by the owner who offered to carry our bags to our room for us. He accompanied us to our room and explained everything including breakfast arrangements. He then took us to the breakfast room and explained we could bring in a takeaway if we wanted and use the plates and cutlery. There was also a fridge you could use if you needed to store anything chilled. And an honesty box for chilled drinks. The Nelson Room was large, tastefully decorated in a nautical theme, well appointed and very comfy. The en suite bathroom was large with a good sized shower which had excellent water pressure and temperature control. We had brought a salad dinner with us and we ate this out on the patio area which is for the use of guests at the B&B. We sat there as the sun set and then watched the bats flying around the courtyard above our heads. There are plenty of outdoor seating areas and tables and recliner chairs that are for the use of guests. Room had tea and coffee making facilities and fresh milk was available in the breakfast room to use if you wanted. We were really made to feel welcome by Martyn, the owner. I rarely go back to the same place twice, preferring to explore other places, but this is somewhere we will DEFINATELY come back to. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. There is a pub in the village and a small store - we didn't go into either during our stay. There is a list of good eating places supplied in the room full of ideas of takeaways etc. Downham Market is only a 20-30 minute walk away. We didn't drive in, so cannot comment on how long it may take to drive. We had breakfast on our last morning. Selections have to be made the night before and then are prepared for you the next morning at a time of your choice between 7.30am and 9.00am. Breakfast was really nice. Hubby had fruit salad, followed by English breakfast and toast with coffee. I had English breakfast, toast and danish pastries with a pot of tea. Takeaway breakfasts are available too. There is a good breakfast menu which is on their website. Cereals are also available. Room was lovely and quiet. Location was peaceful too. No rowdy noise from the pub on either night we were there. The house has been renovated to a really high standard and it was amazing looking through the book in the breakfast room showing all the rooms being renovated so

We stayed at this B&B for five nights, in the “Nottigham” room. The room was quite spacious and very tastefully decorated. There was no fault to be found with the room. The bed was comfy, a nice sitting area, a decent-sized bathroom with a very good shower. We stayed during a spell of hot weather, and the cooled drinks from the honesty bar were very welcome. At the back of the house is a patio with various tables for the use of the guests. It was nice to sit there in the evenings. The host, Martyn, was very friendly and ran a smooth ship. Martyn was always very helpful if you needed him, no matter if it was booking a table, getting information of opening times or paying the toll for the Dartford crossing. There was a generous choice of cooked breakfast and everything we tried was delicious. I can wholeheartedly recommend this B&B. I can’t find a fault even when I try.

What a gem of a place this is! We did a late booking and were not disappointed. From the initial greeting from Martyn to the amazing freshly cooked breakfast made to order and the beautifully designed room. We have travelled a lot in the UK, the Belle Vue has been one of the best places we have stayed at. We will definitely be returning. Best regards, Mr & Mrs Dean

The BnB is one of the best I have ever stayed in . The room was spacious and comfortable and the host super friendly. I also did not want to get out of bed to go to work it was that cosy. Breakfast was also amazing and really filled the spot. The BnB is located in a very nice area great for a running or walking. Top marks

The whole place is beautifully run by Martyn. It is a complete joy to go there and I have been there many times over the years to visit my Mother. The attention to detail never fails nor does Martyn’s generosity! The rooms are spacious and imaginatively decorated together with being extremely comfortable ..highly recommended! Thank you

Absolutely fabulous service, warm friendly and always a smile. Every time you meet the host they always ask if everything is okay with your stay and if there is anything they can do. The house is renovated and maintained to an excellent standard. I am staying in the Nottingham room compared to the purple palace chain. There is no comparison in quality whatsoever. The bed is very large and extremely comfortable it feels just like I’m at home, absolutely everything that you would need, in the room. The coffee is real coffee in pouches not Nescafe Info packets. The room is very very quiet and the Wi-Fi is superb being able to conduct teams talks over the Internet has been very helpful along with the quality peace and quiet to be able to do so as well. I had the full breakfast this morning. The quality of the produce was excellent and there wasn’t a drop of grease on the plate to be found. It was perfect to be honest. The house is very beautiful. There is ample parking to the rear of the property , I cannot find any fault at all without being a nitpicker. There may be one or two guest houses out there that may be as good but they won’t be any better especially when taking into account financial cost you won’t get any better for your money. When you look at the pictures you will see it is better than what the pictures portray. Belle Vue is truly a diamond run by turn on the most down-to-earth welcoming people you will meet. As well as the beauty of the place, Tranquility provided makes it such an ideal place to be able to complete those urgent reports for the next day.

The most wonderful place to stay! My colleague and I recently stayed for a night as we were in the area for business - we have stayed in some ropy places for work, so coming here was very much a treat! A lovely warm welcome, easy check in and the most stunning rooms you ever saw. Martyn gave us great recommendations of where was best to eat and how we could get there. We had a lovely walk into town and ate a great meal out. The beds were SO comfy, we had a great night sleep. The room had everything we needed and more, honestly the details and effort put into the finish of the room was wonderful. Breakfast was fabulous - so much choice and everything was freshly made and beautifully presented. Thank you Martyn!!
