The Coach House

The staff were friendly and helpful. Th location was nice and quite. I work nights so was sleeping during the day and was not disturbed.

The Coach House has got to be the worse hotel in the Midlands. I stayed there for 1 week, as I was working at East Midlands Airport. The mattress couldn’t support an egg, never mind a human. The room was dirty and the shower room (very small) wasn’t fit for purpose. I was woken one evening by VERY LOUD music one evening lasting several hours( 9pm until 4pm). The music came from the top floor living accommodation, which was occupied by the owners. I left the hotel in the early hours (1 am) of the morning and slept in my office at the airport. Throughout the evening I tried contacting the manager/proprietor (Lee) by telephone /text without success. I later requested a refund for the disturbance, without success. Upon my return home , I noticed several small bites on my legs which I could only attribute to bed mites. To conclude, the hotel is not recommended.

Heater didn't work. Very strange smell in the room - it was like a very weird strong musty/sweet smell. Toilet wasn't even bolted to the floor! Mattress felt very lumpy.

The room was as it looked in the photo and the bed was comfortable. Slept well. Needs a lick of paint maybe but perfectly suitable for a no frills economical stay. The manager was quick to sort a ahower problem and very apologetic and kind. Tea coffee and a kettle proveded complimentary. I would stay there again.

Very disappointed. The bed was very soft so was problematic for my husband. The bedding appeared old and at first I wasn’t sure it was clean but it was probably just because it hadn’t been ironed and was very creased. The shower went from freezing cold on ALL settings, so we let it run fir a bit and then it was boiling hot and couldn’t be cooled. The room was musty so we kept the window open - it was noisy till turned midnight with aircraft but we couldn’t close the window due to the room being warm and musty. I’m aftraod to say I would never stay there again

Just want to say what a gem of a place this is for the money. Had a problem with the shower but within 10 minutes it was sorted brilliant. Old building but modern rooms so surprising and will definitely be going again ☺️☺️

First the good points... The car park was fine. The bad points.... Had to ask for a toilet roll just after arrival. The showeroom was disgusting, there was a revolting odour which I presume was the drains. The shower had no hot water, there was a notice on the wall informing how to get the hot water to flow but this only worked for the wash basin. After 10 minutes of trying to get hot or even warm water from the shower we gave up! There was mould around the shower tray and what looked like peeling paint. The matress was extremely uncomfortable so we slept on top of the duvet. We were informed that we had to exit via a very precarious metal fire escape staircase which was in my opinion very dangerous. If you are thinking of booking this place, I srtongly advise you to look elsewhere. We certainly would never stay there again. Price paid £60 for a double room. Cheap but not worth a penny of it.
