Meine Frau und ich blieben zwei Nächte im Kampala Serena, als wir Uganda besuchten, und insgesamt dachte ich, das wäre ein modernes Hotel, das in einer zerstreuten Stadt wie eine Oase der Ruhe erschien. Dieses Hotel ist im Wesentlichen ein großes Komplex mit einem separaten Konferenzzentrum und mehreren Gebäuden. Die Landschaft und die lustigen Gärten geben Ihnen wirklich einen „serenen“ Vibe. Das Personal war gleichmäßig freundlich und hilfsbereit, über das gesamte Panorama. Die Eincheckung war einfach, und wir konnten einen hohen Boden schnappen. Ansichten sind nicht viel hier wegen der gesamten Baumdeckung, aber das ist gut. Die Zimmer waren modern und gut ausgestattet. Ich habe keine Kommentare zu der Lage, weil Kampala nicht wirklich ein ”Wanderziel” ist, wo Sie die Gegend erkunden. Wir haben uns für ein Essen im Hotel entschieden, weil wir arbeiten und eine gewisse Entspannung wollen. Das Buffet hatte immer lokale Optionen, was wichtig war, da wir versuchten, mehr als nur indische und amerikanische Lebensmittel zu versuchen. Das Spa ist schön, aber der Spa-Sitztisch hatte eine riesige Schrauben durch den Kopfbereich, die sehr zufällig und unbehaglich war. Die Fitness- und Fitnesseinrichtungen waren groß und hatten eine Sauna und ein Dampfbad und einen Tauchpool.

Fairway Hotel befindet sich im Zentrum der Stadt Kampala, in der Nähe des Acacia Mall. Hotelsicherheit und Zimmerservice war sehr gut, ich reservierte Standardzimmer der TV wurde mit farbigen Bildschirm abgedeckt, daher die TV Bildqualität war nicht gut und blurr. Ich habe an der Rezeption gebeten, als sie mir anbieten, mein Zimmer zu aktualisieren. Das Frühstück war wirklich nett mit Fruchtsalatbar, kontinentalen und chinesischen Essen sie haben getrennt Frühstück mit lokalem Essen. Die allgemeine Erfahrung war gut.

Das Essen ist so gut, das chinesische Essen ist großartig und das Frühstück ist gut. Es ist viel besser als das, was ich in Shanghai hatte. Ich vermisse es sehr, wenn ich in Tansania ankomme. Ich möchte unbedingt zurück nach Uganda. Der Koch dieses Restaurants ist der beste, den ich in Afrika gegessen habe. Empfehlen

As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and happy staying here! They offered a great price for laundry, all the staff were so nice and helpful, the breakfast buffet was amazing, and the rooms were so clean! Also, it's incredible that the restaurant offers vegan and organic options. Moreover, I love that there is a wine shop on the premises and a local shop offering African-made products! The only two drawbacks that I will mention is that I had to ask for coffee every morning at breakfast. This would often take 15-20 minutes to serve and I was surprised that coffee wasn't already offered. Also, every morning they started sweeping just outside of the rooms. I could hear this loud broom along the floor at 7:30 am so if you like to sleep in then you need to either bring ear plugs or stay at a different hotel. For some reason, the sweeping was so loud and I was woken up every morning (even with earplugs).

There were many other hotels we could have chosen to stay in Kampala but having had such a great experience 4 months ago, we decided to return to the Protea Hotel by Marriott in Kampala. Joan and Charlotte were very good at checking us in quickly. Thank you so much as we were very tired having travelled nearly 20 hours by plane! Maurice, Noah and Rehema were excellent with their customer service by ensuring my mother and I had everything needed for a nice evening. Our room did not have a mini fridge so Maurice suggested he will go and check for a spare one. Maurice brought us one, given the fact that the hotel was almost full. Noah, thank you for all your help in making the tasks I needed completing easier and quick. Maurice, Noah and Rehema thank you for your great hospitality. You were all so kind. Jasper, Sampson and Issac looked after us when we were having diner in our room and made sure we had what we needed by being so quick with their service. They had to run to the kitchen back and forth and were very efficient although they were all very busy that night. In the morning, the breakfast buffet was great with a big variety of food choices. The chef on the night duty made some Poha upon our request, thank you for doing that for us. The Poha was delicious and so were the Indian pakoras. Chef Godfrey made beautiful omelettes as we wanted and went beyond his time to fulfil my mother's need with the chillies. Derrick made us teas the way we liked and the teas were perfect. Cissy and Aisha thank you for your kindness and service. Sharon it was lovely to see you and wish you all the best. The buffet was a mixture of continental and cooked breakfast with a couple of ”chef's speciality of the day” which were delicious! Well worth the money. Samuel, thank you for your speedy checkout and your advice. Thank you all again for your kindness and making another stay wonderful. We will miss you all but promise to return again in the near future. Each one of you have contributed to another great stay and made it even more special, you were all very friendly, courteous and very accommodating. The quality of each of you was very impressive. With regards to the hotel, it was great to see some improvements to the room. The bed was very comfortable it felt like sleeping on a cloud :) The room was very clean, spacious and the new decor was superb. However the shower gel needs to be changed back to the old style one as the new gel is so runny like water and not soapy at all! Also, the WiFi was a bit slow this time and got cut a few times. Still giving 5 out of 5 stars as each member of the staff were amazing and professional with their duties. Can not wait to see the refurbished version of the hotel in months to come :)

Visited this beautiful hotel whilst on a business trip to Kampala. The hotel lives up to all the values and services one can relate to with Hilton hotels. The clean and chic, amazing food in the restaurant and a very comfortable lounge like atmosphere. Did surpass my expectations in a pleasant manner as I was immediately recognised as a valuable returning guest to the hotel. Kudos to the leadership!

Initially, I was unsure of what to expect when the taxi driver mentioned the hotel was far from the center. Upon arrival, the hotel appeared small yet clean. My first interaction with the receptionist was a surprise; despite having paid for the entire week via Priceline, I was asked to pay for the night. Exhausted, I complied, hoping to resolve the issue later. The next day, after inquiring, I was assured that they would sort it out with Priceline and that my credit card could cover any expenses. Two days later, the manager, Ratan, apologized and rectified the situation. The hotel boasts spacious rooms with large, comfortable beds and ample living space. The bathrooms are well-appointed, and the shower provides both hot and cold water satisfactorily. The breakfast offered was simple and straightforward, nothing fancy. The staff is exceptionally polite and efficient. Despite my initial skepticism about staying at Best Western Athena, overall, it turned out to be a pleasant experience.
