Meroddi La Porta Hotel

very, very dissapointed in this hotel and Booking. I made reservation for 28. september till 1.october month earlier. Reservation was confirmed, and they charged my card week before arrival. I even e-mailed to hotel about time of our arrival. When we came to the hotel, they just told us: Sorry, we are overbooked! And that was all. We didnt received any notification about cancelation, not from hotel not from Booking. And hotel didnt find us any alternative, they told us to call Booking. Then we have called Booking, they couldnt help us either. I couldnt believe what was happening, we were so frustrated. After loosing 2 hours, we went to one hotel n the same street Querencia hotel. Luckily they had available room and they were great. We got refund a week later from this hotel, but that is not a point. It was very frustrating how hotel doesnt care, like we came from the street and we booked and payed on time. Booking just sent us automatic responces, and when I called them twice,, they promised to check everything and call me back, but they didnt call. And while in Turkey, we couldn make new reservation throw Booking, i dont no why. So hotel and Booking left us on our own. Very unprofessional and dissapointing

I've been chasing this company for a refund for my 6-night stay for over 1 month now. They turned our Istanbul trip into a nightmare. First, when we arrived at La Porta they promptly told us they moved us to another property without our permission because they overbooked. I booked La Porta specifically because it has a rooftop breakfast. They moved us to Galata Mansion, which doesn't have a rooftop, and stuck us in a room with a broken air conditioner and no exterior windows. We had to leave the hotel after 1 night because it was too hot to sleep, and Galata Mansion was also overbooked and no other rooms were available. They promised us a refund, and have said multiple times that it has been sent while later admitting it hasn't. STILL NO REFUND. Stay was supposed to be September 26 - Oct 2.

Very Clean rooms and very good friendly staff, amazing amazing location literally a few yards from the galata tower such a vibe, family friendly, good breakfast rooftop sea view, it was my sons birthday the hotel staff surprised him with a birthday cake which was such a sweet gesture. Definitely would come back to this hotel

Meroddi la porta attracted me with the price, the location, and the recent renovations, and we were wowed by our experience there. If you can, ask for a 4th floor room with a balcony. You will be away from the street noise and will have a view over the old city. The location is perfect, as you can walk or take a tram easily to most tourist places, and take the metro to the airport, and also have access to the better food and nightlife of the Galata / Taksim/ Karikoy neighborhoods. The food and view from breakfast is amazing, as well. Others have commented on the less than desirable immediate garbage collection point in the alley in front of the hotel, but we never felt unsafe. Tbe desk people and kitchen staff were always friendly and helpful as well. 110% recommend!

Came in from the UK for business. I absolutely love the fluffy pillows! The bed is amazing. The curtains keep the sunlight out for when you want to stay in bed in the daytime. I stayed in the studio and it's really clean. Very friendly and helpful staff and manager. I highly recommend please.

The location is great 100 meters to the Galata tower and the breakfast in the rooftop with a view of the Golden Horns is unforgettable I used to stay there 2-3 times and everything is great as well as staff
