My husband and I stayed at the Posada Beach hotel in December 2023. Location is great, right on the beach, though necessary to have a car to get into town. Our 3rd floor room was clean and modern with a lovely view of the beach and lagoon. Breakfast was included and was really good (made to order) and the gentlemen serving breakfast were very friendly and helpful. Not the hotel’s fault, but there were a lot of stray dogs roaming the beach and streets (in town as well) which is a bit off-putting if you don’t love large unattended dogs.

Nice location is pretty much the only positive thing I can say about this hotel. It is a very old hotel that needs to be updated. The rooms are falling apart and the pool chairs had stains on the cusions. There were a few friendly staff members but for the most part employees could use better customer service skills. The staff/hotel was oddly stingy about towels - bath - we needed four but only had two. Requested two more but as soon as the room got cleaned housekeeping took the two towels and left us with only two again (and not cleans ones). They also took the hand towels and didn't replace with clean ones and when I asked if we could get hand towels they told me they ran out of clean ones. What kind of hotel runs out of clean hand towels?! Let's talk about swim towels - these would only be given to us with tokens and when I left the towels in the room at check out they made me get them and bring them down before I could check out. Food at the hotel restaurant wasn't very good. Dinner was terrible. My husband's dinner (paella) came out about 40 minutes after ours did and it was bad. Breakfast was okay. Luckily, it was complimentary. Pool closed so they wouldn't give us towels to swim yet there were Spanish speaking families swimming and being waited on from the bar. We went ahead and decided to swim but didn't have towels to dry off with. Ridiculous. Only one key for a room with a family of 4. Bathroom set up was strange. No door separating the bathroom from the rest of the room so privacy for a family of 4 was a little awkward. We will never stay at La Posada again.

Drove up from San Jose for a few days. We had a wonderful stay here. The property does need some maintenance, but workers are working on the property regularly. We had a junior suite with a balcony overlooking the main pool and beach. Our room was lovely. The restaurant and drinks were very good. Staff was very helpful. We will come again. Pictures attached, please excuse our mess.

Based Trip Adviser reviews, we booked this hotel initially for a week. We had to revise our dates, and it took forever to connect with someone who would/could make the needed changes. When we arrived, those date changes were still not made. This hotel was likely pretty plush in its prime, but it is well past its prime. Tired, worn out, in an undesirable location. And while the management will likely respond that this review is unfair to their employees, what is unfair to their employees is ownership/management not providing them with the tools and finances necessary to enhance the guest experience. We stayed one night then left. We were told we would receive a partial refund, and a partial credit, for unused days. No refund came through on our credit card, instead the hotel charged the full amount for the full stay.

Lots of Mexican hotels in the last 20 years, but this one is a bit different. As usual, cons first, then pros Con: Grounds need work A bit pricey for $ 1600 mxn per night Shabby internet The worst thing is the reviews aren't bad for La Posada, but the managements replies are HORRIBLE towards reviewers. Those reviews are there to help travelers & hopefully alert the staff for improvements. Instead, those are met with childish & unprofessional replies. Seriously inappropriate Pro: Nice staff on duty Views Baths/shower pressure Clean Quiet Nice King beds Parking (abet limited) Mini fridge Excellent desayunos Last note. Advertised as having laundry services. Do NOT use $300 pesos for a 4kg load vs 125 ANYWHERE in Mexico , including 2 blocks away.

The worst experience ever. We were told that the hotel was full the moment we arrived even though we had a reservation confirmed. I was in shock by their ********* attitude. Imagine in a busy holiday such as eastern, to be denied a confirmed room was a complete shock.

A truly terrible experience. I arrived during the whole week with my reservation in hand and O was told that my room has been rented and they won’t respect my reservation. This at the time when all hotels in the area are fully booked and I was left with my 7year old son literally on the street. Horrible horrible experience to say the least.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful hotel a couple of weeks ago, and we had a lovely time. Everyone at the hotel was so helpful and welcoming. It is in a fabulous location right on the beach, with a couple of pools- we used the main one in front of the beach and it was warm enough to use. Also the food is excellent here. Our room was really amazing, overlooking the beach, with glorious sunsets. Highly recommended!
