There were many other hotels we could have chosen to stay in Kampala but having had such a great experience 4 months ago, we decided to return to the Protea Hotel by Marriott in Kampala. Joan and Charlotte were very good at checking us in quickly. Thank you so much as we were very tired having travelled nearly 20 hours by plane! Maurice, Noah and Rehema were excellent with their customer service by ensuring my mother and I had everything needed for a nice evening. Our room did not have a mini fridge so Maurice suggested he will go and check for a spare one. Maurice brought us one, given the fact that the hotel was almost full. Noah, thank you for all your help in making the tasks I needed completing easier and quick. Maurice, Noah and Rehema thank you for your great hospitality. You were all so kind. Jasper, Sampson and Issac looked after us when we were having diner in our room and made sure we had what we needed by being so quick with their service. They had to run to the kitchen back and forth and were very efficient although they were all very busy that night. In the morning, the breakfast buffet was great with a big variety of food choices. The chef on the night duty made some Poha upon our request, thank you for doing that for us. The Poha was delicious and so were the Indian pakoras. Chef Godfrey made beautiful omelettes as we wanted and went beyond his time to fulfil my mother's need with the chillies. Derrick made us teas the way we liked and the teas were perfect. Cissy and Aisha thank you for your kindness and service. Sharon it was lovely to see you and wish you all the best. The buffet was a mixture of continental and cooked breakfast with a couple of ”chef's speciality of the day” which were delicious! Well worth the money. Samuel, thank you for your speedy checkout and your advice. Thank you all again for your kindness and making another stay wonderful. We will miss you all but promise to return again in the near future. Each one of you have contributed to another great stay and made it even more special, you were all very friendly, courteous and very accommodating. The quality of each of you was very impressive. With regards to the hotel, it was great to see some improvements to the room. The bed was very comfortable it felt like sleeping on a cloud :) The room was very clean, spacious and the new decor was superb. However the shower gel needs to be changed back to the old style one as the new gel is so runny like water and not soapy at all! Also, the WiFi was a bit slow this time and got cut a few times. Still giving 5 out of 5 stars as each member of the staff were amazing and professional with their duties. Can not wait to see the refurbished version of the hotel in months to come :)

Das Essen ist so gut, das chinesische Essen ist großartig und das Frühstück ist gut. Es ist viel besser als das, was ich in Shanghai hatte. Ich vermisse es sehr, wenn ich in Tansania ankomme. Ich möchte unbedingt zurück nach Uganda. Der Koch dieses Restaurants ist der beste, den ich in Afrika gegessen habe. Empfehlen

Yesterday 9th I visited my favourite restaurant again with my friend n we wea attended to by Victoria who suggested we should try ur buffet this time and guess what I love every bite,thanks to d management and staffs as well coz whenever I crave for great service I look no further than four points

As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and happy staying here! They offered a great price for laundry, all the staff were so nice and helpful, the breakfast buffet was amazing, and the rooms were so clean! Also, it's incredible that the restaurant offers vegan and organic options. Moreover, I love that there is a wine shop on the premises and a local shop offering African-made products! The only two drawbacks that I will mention is that I had to ask for coffee every morning at breakfast. This would often take 15-20 minutes to serve and I was surprised that coffee wasn't already offered. Also, every morning they started sweeping just outside of the rooms. I could hear this loud broom along the floor at 7:30 am so if you like to sleep in then you need to either bring ear plugs or stay at a different hotel. For some reason, the sweeping was so loud and I was woken up every morning (even with earplugs).

From the security to the front desk staff and other staff at large. They were super helpful. I would say like a hive mind all up to one task and that’s to assist and make one feel at home. I don’t remember all names but the housekeeping team was super clean. Grace at the restaurant was just amazing.Definitely coming back !!!!

Nachdem wir ein wenig Essen hatten, waren wir bereit, zu gehen, um die Rechnung zu beantragen, nachdem die Rechnung gestellt wurde, wir beantragt, zu bestätigen, welche Art von Zahlung zu machen. Wir wurden angewiesen, dass wir mit Kreditkarte, Bargeld oder Mobilgeld bezahlen können. Wir baten um Zahlung mit Mobilgeld und sie akzeptierten. Die Zahlung wurde bestätigt und der Name des Empfängers. Dann haben wir die Zahlung an die genannte Zahl eingeleitet, und die Zahlung erfolgte in direktem Zugriff, und der Betreuer war Zeuge dafür. Trotz der Bezahlung mit einer Bescheinigung wurde uns die Ausreise mit den Gründen verweigert, dass die Zahlung nicht erhalten war. Gates wurden von untrained junior staff zwangsläufig geschlossen, eine Handlung, die uns erschreckt. Wir sprachen mit der chinesischen Führung, die sich nicht über die Uganda-Mobilgeldzahlungssysteme bekannt machte. Sie begannen, missbräuchlich inklusive ihrer jüngeren Mitarbeiter zu sein. Aber die Zahlung zeigte, dass Bargeld an eine *MIN FANG* übertragen wurde. Dies geschah am 7. März 2020, Samstag Abend um 11:30 Uhr. Wir glauben, dass es ein Trick war, uns zu bekommen, zusätzliche Zahlungen zu machen. Es ist nicht, bis wir erwähnt haben, dass wir diesen Vorfall auf Reiseberater setzen, dass sie die Türen öffnen. Es war eine schreckliche Erfahrung nach einem guten Essen. Seien Sie sich solchen Tricks bewusst.

Nach einen neuen Job in Kampala wo ich 2 Wochen in Deutschand bin und 4 in Kampala und immer wieder, wollte ich am Anfang im Mestil nur ein paar Wochen Bleiben. Nach über einen Jahr ist es einfach sehr schwer mich zu trennen. Der stress kann hier sehr gemütlich abgebaut wernen. Service, Pool, Spa, Restaurant, einfach top. Sheraton Kampala habe ich auch versucht aber dort ist es leider sehr runter gekommen und bin sofort wieder du Mestil Gekommen. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Ob kurz oder Lang, gibt es hier nichts zu meckern.

Everything was super clean. The host were very friendly and hospitable. The breakfast was amazing. …………..,,,,,,,,,.,………..We will definitely return here in the future……………… The rooftop restaurant was amazing especially at night. You can see lake Victoria from there.
