I stayed there with my parents. The futon were so good. Big and soft. The room also good. Location is perfect. Lawson is near by. Breakfast is everything. Bathroom amenity is the best. ** tattoos person not allow to use public onsen but they do provided private onsen (with charge) that need the book in advance.

Wir haben eine der drei berühmtesten heißen Quellen Japans besucht und uns in einem hundert Jahre alten Hotel in der Onsen-Stadt ein traditionelles japanisches Zimmer mit Halbpension gebucht. Das Hotel bietet einen Shuttleservice vom Bahnhof an, was sehr praktisch ist. An der Rezeption gab es Mitarbeiter, die Chinesisch sprachen, sodass der Check-in reibungslos verlief. Das Zimmer war außerdem sehr geräumig, mit einer wunderschönen Aussicht vom Fenster. Für uns zwei war es sehr großzügig. Es gab Innen- und Außenbäder. Die Gero Onsen waren wirklich angenehm, die Haut fühlte sich danach so glatt an! Nach dem Bad gab es kostenlose kalte Getränke und die Milch aus dem Automaten war besonders lecker! Die im Hotel inbegriffenen Mahlzeiten waren reichhaltig und köstlich. Die gesamte Hotelumgebung war sehr japanisch. Obwohl wir nur eine Nacht geblieben sind, freuen wir uns schon darauf, in Zukunft ein paar Tage länger zu bleiben! Sehr empfehlenswert.

Arrived at the location with superb warm hospitality. You felt the Japanese welcome once you arrived at the location from checking in/luggage sent to your room dircetly. The onsen/hotel located at Gero, hillside and you able to see the panoramic views of the Hida mountains and hot-spring town from your room.Dinner and breakfast is served at the site and serviced by local staff, Hinata was our serviced staff, she explained very well in english and guided us through the both meals. Delicious meal as well, not forgotten to mention (Japanese style meals using local ingredients with award winning rice as well). Public bath onsen is the place to go to relax at the site,definitely a good relaxtion place for family/couple/group. We booked the Japanese style room and had a good rest. Although the price per night is not consider cheap, but we strongly recommend to have a stay if you have a night to spend while transit through the town, you don have to worry the dinner and breakfast part as the hotel had provided with price charged. Thanks again to the staff and hospitalilty, we had a great stay.

This is the best onsen hotel we’ve stayed in, among those we’ve stayed in for the past 12 years! We stayed here for 2 nights. We’ve extremely grateful to the hosts for their outstanding service and hospitality from the heart. Loved the thoughtfully varied menu for each meal. The establishment is spotlessly clean and excellently maintained. Each morning, our towels and yukata (hotel gowns) were replaced. So were the amenities ( fragrant green tea packs, snacks). The housekeeping staff even offered to mop our rooms after only one night’s stay. The wifi was also fast and sustained well in the guest room and public lounge areas. There are facilities to cater to a wide range of age groups from seniors like us and children too. There were ample resting chairs in the lounge and on the way to the historian’s well as guest rooms. The best facility was the hot springs! They are exactly as depicted in the hotel website. Numerous indoor pools of various temperature all have the renowned ‘beautifying’ odorless alkaline water. My skin felt so smooth and moisturized after only one soak. What’s more the hot springs stay open for in-house guests from 10.30 am to 11 pm and day-trip visitors from 10.30 am to 8 pm. In-house guests can also use the hotsprings early from 6 to 9 am. There is a European dry sauna as well as wet steam rooms in both make and female hotspring areas. We would love to stay here again!

Very good experience and staff are very professional especially Mr Taku Yamada as he went the extra mile to accommodate my request to provide me western bed instead of rokan. Hotel is very nice clean n unique with pulley type lift. Good buffet spread. Definitely a good value for money stay.

Die komfortable und entspannende Erfahrung ist, dass der Außenpool im Zimmer sehr schlank und großartig ist. Der Abendessensgehalt ist auch ziemlich reichhaltig. Es ist zwei verschiedene Pakete, die jeweils zwei Nächte aufeinanderfolgen, und es wird nicht mehr essen 👍

An average quality onsen hotel in Gero. Not the best type but also better than many. It is a matter of one's choice in spending more money for better choices or not, as the price range in Gero can be 100% difference for the best and those with much lower price. All onsen are old in the hardware facilities, but traditional.

It was a comfortable, family-run Ryokan style inn. There is free parking for those who drive. It is also walking distance from the train station. We arrived after dark and the staff told us there was no more dinner, so they recommended us a dinner place nearby. For breakfast which was included, it was a full set and really delicious Japanese platter. We ate to our heart’s content. The onsen is located on the basement and the 4th floor, I like it specially for the rooftop onsen. The men and women onsen will swap at certain timings to allow each gender to enjoy the facilities at the rooftop. They give clear instructions on a piece of paper, and you just need to look at the colour of the cloth hanging outside the onsen. The hotel is located near the town centre, so you can walk around easily.
