Great quiet location and comfy rooms! The outside bath in the crisp mountain air was truly relaxing, and the refillable fridge was an extra nice treat. Food was solid, decent breakfast, delicious teppanyaki experience. Staff was always incredibly helpful and friendly, most spoke English quite well which was great as an American.

This ryokan in Japan stands out as the best I've ever experienced. The service is impersonal and attentive, with staff always ready to assist and ensure your comfort. Both breakfast and dinner, included in the stay, are of exceptional quality. The room cleanliness is impeccable, leaving no room for complaints.

This was hands down the best Ryokan experience and best part of Japan I had with my fiance during our two week trip in Japan. Getting to the hotel from the train station was a doozy but when we got to the hotel we were greeted by the friendliest staff. We were greeted at the entrance and they offered to help bring our luggage all the way to the lobby. At the lobby we were able to relax and enjoy a bit of sweets and tea while we checked in. The staff was kind, polite and very attentive to our needs. The room and onsen was topnotch. It was the most relaxing part of Japan after lugging our luggage from Kyoto all the way through Hakone. Dont get me started on the food. Dinner was *chef kiss* dinner was a 7 course meal and breakfast was amazing too. Literally had food coma for the night. If youre gonna book a place in Hakone I say go all out and book this Ryokan.

This was hands down the best hotel/Ryokan experience I had with my partner during our two week trip to Japan. The staff was kind, polite and vert attentive to our needs. Special recognition for Sei who was in charge of taking care of us for the 4 days. He was personable, friendly and very helpful. The food was fantastic and the room was impeccable. We cannot wait to return in the future!

food experience was excellent.. we tried the japanese breakfast and the western one Great selection of Sake and single malt whiskeys.. rooms were very comfortable with private onsen ( hot spring bath) in the balcony left feeling relaxed and rested..

We had a lovely time at Kinnotake Tonosawa. Everyone was so kind and helpful. The Japanese food was beautifully served and very interesting and different for us. Our favorite part of staying there was the peace, tranquility and especially the outdoor bath in our room that was fed by a hot spring and always ready to sink into, day and night.

My stay at this hotel was an absolute delight from start to finish. The hospitality was top-notch, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure I felt welcomed and valued throughout my visit. The ryokan experience wasn't traditional but was still relaxing and worth it. My favorite part during this stay was their cuisine. Their breakfast and kaiseki meals were a culinary masterpiece!

Everything was so high quality, the room was cozy, clean and well equipped. It was a worthy stay. The building is Japanese styled yet modern. The surroundings were really peaceful. Food was so good and had great variation. Can choose either Japanese or western style breakfast and both were nice. You can taste the freshness from the ingredients
