Hotel Turnerwirt

Less than 10 mins by car from the center of Salzburg. Quite old as a hotel. Room is very small but clean. One night, room only, wasn't cheap and did not include the parking of the car on the same premises - an extra €8 were charged for the day. The room did not include a small bottle of water - had to be bought from the bar at €3.

It’s a group of houses converted into hotel. The price we paid is not at all matching with amenities provided. Cleaning done only on alternate days. No elevators and no support for carrying bags. Located opposite public transport stop so late night sounds and disturbance was prevalent.

DO NOT STAY HERE—SERIOUS BED BUG ISSUE WITHOUT ADEQUATE, HYGIENIC RESPONSE FROM HOTEL. I stayed here from 09/27/23 to 09/30/23. After the first night I noticed over 20 bug bites all over my body, and notified the hotel, stating my concern that it might be bed bugs. The manager I spoke to was extremely rude and condescending. told me he conducted an inspection of the room and didn’t find any bugs, yet when we returned, we found multiple pieces of evidence of bed bugs. Bugs were crawling around the bed, there were streaks of blood, etc. The hotel refused to give us a new room and refused to consult a bed bug inspector when we asked him to confirm his initial diagnosis with a professional opinion. Manager never responded to my WhatsApp messages containing photos of the bites, bugs, and other evidence pointing to a potential infestation. My bites were confirmed to be bed bug bites by a doctor in the US. I will be reporting this hotel to the appropriate health inspectors.

Very efficient receptionist who gave us lots of good advice. You can get bus ticket from the hotel and the bus stops right outside to take you into the city. The rooms are very small with cheap style furniture not really in keeping with the style of the hotel. The showeroom was tiny as well. The beds were hard and you could hear a lot of noise between rooms as the walls not thick. Breakfast was a nice buffet and there is free car parking. There are no restaurants in the local area

My wife always wanted to come to Salzburg,so much so she booked trip there and made all the necessary reservations. She had a friend help her make the hotel reservations guiding her to more expensive downtown hotels. Fortunately my wife choice the Turnerwirt. At the last minute I decided to go with her. On our past trips I would make the hotel reservations, researching using reviews for the best hotels for the value typically 4 stars. So when we arrived to Turnerwirt entering the lobby definitely see this was an old hotel but not in a bad way,has old world Austrian flavor. Entering our room my first reaction was a little shocked. But as we stayed I found the room comfortable, bathroom functional and was completely comfortable for our stay. What made the difference in our stay was the wonderful helpful advice from the staff,always very patient and fulfilling my every requests. And of course the bus stops in front of the hotel which makes every part of the city conveniently reachable . I would recommend getting a Salzburg pass and or a day bus pass. Also we had a pleasant surprise by having a wonderful lunch at Ginglar Stub’n Pub just down the street
