We are here for 1 week in June 2024. The distance from the airport is 40 minutes, but with various stops, it takes an hour. Having said that, that is as bad as it gets. The weather was hot for the week, but the air conditioning is good. We were all inclusive, the food and drink are excellent with a very varied choice of both, including enough for vegans. The staff are local families and extremely hard working. Katerina in the restaurant was superb and nothing was ever too much trouble, the bar staff also make sure you have all you need. A trip to Skala is a must, but there is enough at the hotel to keep you happy and entertained for your entire stay. One point of caution, there are a lot of stairs.

Myself and my partner had a fabulous week away. All staff were lovely and attentive, all food we had was delicious no complaints here. Only suggestion would be the bed it was quite hard, but that could be down to personal preference. We would definitely recommend, and will be coming back.

Just arrived home following a weeks AI stay at the apostolata. We had an absolutely wonderful week. Kefalonia is breathtaking. The view from the hotel is beautiful. We liked that it was slightly outside of Skala as we prefer quieter resorts. The shuttle bus was a nice addition too. The staff are all so friendly and genuine, they made us feel so welcome. They were all brilliant with our two boys, especially Lenny the entertainment guy. Our room was spacious and very clean, it was a little bit dated / tired but comfortable. The rest of the facilities definitely compensated for that though and there are delux rooms available if you want to pay more. For the price we paid the hotel exceeded our expectations especially after reading some of the reviews we had read prior to going. We hired a car for 3 days to explore the island and found some amazing places. We will definitely return. Going home feeling totally relaxed and refreshed. There are lots of steps so if you have mobility issues it would be challenging.

Hotel is in a beautiful setting, close to Skala for its beaches, restaurants and shops and the staff at the hotel are lovely. Lovely large pool also and despite the lack of a 'beach' the area for accessing the sea was beautiful. With sunloungers on patio areas and steps into the sea. One serious word of warning though.... this hotel is on a serious hill so if you don't like steps or steep inclines to get anywhere eg: pool to restaurant... do not book the Apostolata! With regards the staff - special shout out to lady who ran the restaurant (who's name we never caught but she also worked at the ice cream shop in Skala), Panos at the pool bar and Lenny for the entertainment. BUT.. we won't be returning for various reasons. Hotel does need some updating and tlc. It's not 5* by any stretch of the imagination. The decking around the pool is warped, with trip hazards in many areas and at least two sets of steps out of the pool need refixing as they are precarious. The food in the buffet restaurant is passable at best - but did result in many guests including one of our party contracting food poisoning (expensive trip to doctor and antibiotics required). We ate out on many nights to avoid the situation recurring, which is not what you expect from an all inclusive resort and ended up making the holiday more expensive than expected. We saw many of the lunchtime dishes being reserved at dinner time.... not great in a hot climate! And with regards all-inclusive... it really isn't. If you want any 'normal' cocktails - eg: Pina Colada or Aperol Spritz which would usually be included, these were extra cost. If you want to eat lunch at the pool bar (rather than facing the steps up to the buffet restaurant), there was a very limited menu only available before 11.30 or after 2.30pm. A more extensive but chargeable menu was available, and to eat between 11.30 and 2.30 was also chargeable. The entertainment was pretty much Lenny and his sidekick. They were great fun and they did a good job, but we would have expected some 'bought in shows' not just karaoke, pick your own music night and music quiz. We were unlucky to be allocated room 511 which was directly underneath the bar and entertainment area. We could literally hear everything happening in the bar... and we were able to do the music quiz one night (when recovering from food poisoning) from our bed! The staff at the front desk were fantastic when we asked to move owing to the noise issues and promptly upgraded us to a jacuzzi suite which was hugely appreciated. No issues at all with customer service or the staff.. but I would suggest that the rooms under the bar area are used for staff rather than paying guests as there is no sound proofing whatsoever to avoid guest disatisfaction in the future. In general, it was an OK hotel, with lovely staff and great views. But we booked all inclusive assuming the costs of food and drinks were 'paid for' and ended up having to shell out for dinn

We have really enjoyed our stay at The Louis Apostolata Hotel. It has been a lovely place to unwind and recharge.. The staff have been exceptional. They are very approachable. Whatever we asked for, they catered for. The view here is one of the best we've experienced, and that includes Waikiki. The entertainment guys are great. The hotel is clean and always smells amazing..! We will miss this place when we leave tomorrow but we have some lovely memories to take with us.. Diolch.. The Gubbs x

Very nice resort next to Skala! Personnel was very friendly and always happy to help. Nice spa facilities! Very good massage provided by Lena! High recommendation! The view from the room was amazing and hotel beach just fantastic next to the rocks with many fish and crystal clear water! Location was very good, 5 min to Skala and 10 to Poros. Hotel provides as well shuttle.

Just got back from a 7 night stay at the Louis Apostolata Resort and Spa in Kefelonia. Whilst branding itself as a 5 star hotel, we did not believe this to be the case, with it feeling more like a 3 star hotel. Location: The surrounding location of the hotel is stunning, with a mountain backdrop and stunning sea views. Be aware though that the hotel is located about 4km away from the town of Skala so taxis or the free shuttle bus are really the only option if you want to explore. In addition the resort is spread out over a large site with a lot of steep hills and steps, we are a fairly fit and able couple and did struggle with the amount of stairs. It’s not something that was clearly advertised, so be mindful when booking. Room: Our double balcony room was basic, but adequate enough for our stay. There were some issues with a poorly locking balcony door, broken shower and other facilities looking a bit tired and worn. There were also stains evident on the bedding. In the helpful guest information booklet it encouraged guests to visit reception and try out the range of pillows they had on offer, however when we asked reception for additional pillows none could be found and eventually one was sourced from an empty room. Plenty of cupboard space, a fridge and Tv all provided. Staff on reception were helpful when it came to check in and check out and arranged for luggage to be transported to and from our room in a little golf buggy. Food: We stayed Half Board so received breakfast and dinner each day. We generally were really disappointed in the food, and I wouldn’t say there was any meal that we enjoyed, we just ate it because we were hungry. The word we would use to describe the food is “fine”. We found the buffet to have a limited choice too. There were not a huge amount of options, but from what we can gather people tend to get a taxi into town so I guess it prevents waste. Breakfast offering was decent with wide range of hot and cold options. For evening meals, each night was a themed night and during our stay we had Greek, Mediterranean, Asian, Gourmet, Mexican, Carvery and Italian themed menus. On the first night some food appeared raw, with chicken skewers and bolognese both appearing under cooked. Overall the buffet food was okay, but definitely not up to the standards you’d expect from a 5 star hotel. Drinks service was very slow and often waiting over ten minutes for staff to come and take drinks orders. On one might we ate in the Al a carte restaurant which was lovely food, however be aware you choose one menu to share between two people, and portion sizes are very small. The al a carte pool bar was lovely with a wide range of dishes and we enjoyed these each day. Drinks were fairly reasonably priced. Pool: The hotel has 3 pools, a large main pool, small kids paddling pool and a pool off the main terrace bar: All pools are salt water which was not clearly advertised on either the hotels website or TUI with whom we booked. We neve

Excellent hotel in a lovely quiet location, great food, wonderful comfortable rooms and fantastic views over the sea. All staff were very friendly, incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable about both the area and the island as a hole. As the hotel was a little way out of the town we also really appreciated the complementary two-way minibus service down into the town of Skala when required, it gets very hot here and this was most welcome. We must give a special commendation to Leni and Co {the Animation team} for there incredible enthusiasm and non-stop smiling, they are an absolute credit to the hotel and it was a pleasure to be there ''Daddy Cool and Come on Eileen'' disco dancers. May we make just one suggestion, with regards to British tastes it would be wonderful to have the availability of HP brown sauce to go alongside our bacon and egg for breakfast. Many thanks for a wonderful holiday, John and Chris
