Our first visit to this superb, well run and clean hotel. Rooms are very practical and functional. Ski lockers in the garage. Breakfast was very well prepared and presented daily. Evening meal is a menu choice that you choose at the start of the week. Amazing food and outstanding service and staff. A really good selection of wines in stock. This hotel is very highly recommended. Pierre and his staff really looked after us. Thank you for an amazing week.

Hotel Cubil is a great little 3* hotel located close to the main lifts in Pas de la Casa. It’s clean, has all the facilities you need, but what really sets it apart from others is the staff. Pierre and his team (Maggie, Sol and Javi) were brilliant throughout, always helpful and accommodating. The food is really good and they were great in trying to best accommodate my family’s complex dietary needs - special thanks to Javi. On a practical note, as it’s not always clear in the room description, the twin room is more like a small apartment with a separate room within it with two single beds next to the main room which has two more singles. Recommend combining a stay at the Cubil (half board) with the lift pass with lunch - all you meals taken care of with the minimum of fuss!

We have just arrived back from a weeks staying at this lovely hotel in Pas. The Cubil certainly delivered on location, friendliness, food, rooms and staff. From the room maids to the manager/owner Pierre we were looked after and made to feel valued and welcome. I took a party of 23 this year (10th to 17th March) the youngest 16yrs, the oldest 85yrs. I have been taking a group away every year since 1997. We have visited resorts in Bulgaria, Austria, France, Spain, Italy and Andorra over the years. I have to say that this hotel is up with the best of the hotels we have stayed in. So much so we are hoping to book for next year. Thank you Pierre and Maggie, and all of the staff for making our holiday so much better. One minor thing, some of our group chose to eat out one of the nights purely because the menu offered a Meat Curry or Vegie Curry. Because it was just a curry choice, not everyone enjoys a curry and perhaps another option could have been laid on. That said I truly believe if we had asked Pierre i am sure he would have done something for us. For the record I stayed and had the meat curry and it was just delicious so please keep it on the meu. Thanks again and hopefully we will see you next year. Steve and the Pink themed party (UK)

I have just checked out of Cubil after 7 lovely nights. We were on a group skiing holiday for 11 and almost immediately we were hit with the wow factor As a group, we have been here many times before but this hotel knocks spots off those that we have been before The staff are all friendly and so accommodating. I literally have no bad words to say about this place and look forward to returning in 2 years’ time Thank you team Cubil; you have made this years ski trip very memorable

Hotel Cubil thoroughly met my accommodation requirements. My room and the hotel overall was spotless, food was on average pretty good and the staff of this family owned business were warm, professional and friendly throughout our stay. Essentially it felt like nothing we could reasonably request was too much. Our room on the 2nd floor had good reliable WiFi, it was really quiet despite being next to the lift (which you couldn’t hear), great water pressure in the shower and more than enough space for 2 people with lots of luggage and shopping. No views of the mountain in our room, we faced a courtyard of the other guests rooms. Despite being a couple we had two separate beds which we couldn’t join together due to the inbuilt lamp in between beds. Towels were soft and clean, hairdryer was fine to use, extraction fan was clean and worked which many hotels miss. We had one bathroom light stop working and it was resolved by the time we came back from skiing after reporting it mid morning. The owner even replaced the other bulb so both lights would have the same colour light! The attention to detail is above and beyond. Location: really close to and from the slopes < 4 mins in ski boots. There is a stairway directly opposite the entrance which leads to a slightly steep path towards the meeting point for ski lessons. The other path is found turning right after exiting the hotel and walk downhill to a hairpin bend, cross the road and through a tunnel which leads directly onto the slopes. You’ll see ski shops on the side facing the road and Soul Bar on the other end. You will be able to access the chairlifts from here but beware, it can be icy on the slope side. Ski equipment is stored in the basement easily accessible through the garage door to the right of the entrance. Locker keys require a 10€ deposit. Facilities could be better here, maybe better drying equipment so that boots will dry by next day. Food: breakfast was the same thing everyday but a wide enough selection for most people. Hot food consisting of scrambled and hard boiled eggs, baked beans and yummy bacon was regularly refilled. Typical continental breakfast fare, a machine making good coffee and a kettle to make your own teas. Dinner for the week was chosen upon arrival and sometimes consisted of things like, ‘fruit salad’ or ‘fruit’ which wasn’t a massive distinction. Do be on time for dinner as they stop serving after 19.30 despite not mentioning it on the information slip. You had assigned tables at dinner but not at breakfast which I found weird. Mojitos made by the tall talented gentleman who called us ‘Chicos’ were amazing. Overall an enjoyable stay, loved the staff, the cleanliness, the quiet well sorted room. Some small improvements could be made but for a 3* hotel this really does the important things very well and we’d love to come back.

We were a party if 14 with ages ranging from the youngest at 16 to the eldest at 74. We had most of the 3rd floor and every room was spacious, with plenty of storage space, lovely comfy beds and even though we were at the front of the hotel we didn't hear any noise, it may be because we had a separate bedroom, some in the party said they heard the people coming out of nightclubs but next night they used earplugs and slept lovely. The rooms were cleaned daily and there was a large bottle of water in our room when we returned from the slopes every day which was a very nice touch and much appreciated. The food was excellent, you have to choose what you want for the week when you arrive, we took a photo of the menu card once we had filled it in so that we knew exactly what we had ordered every night. Breakfast was plentiful with choice of cereals, continental and hot bacon beans and scrambled egg, toast, croissants. The staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble, a big shout out to javi who was there mornings for breakfast and serving evening meals, his wife was the chef who made the best food. Pierre the owner was excellent, he even gave some in our party a lift to the bus depot to get the bus to soldeu, as snow conditions were not great. The location to the slope is just a short walk away, my husband and i hired lockers on the slope as I had a bad knee and didn't want to do any walking in ski boots, the others had the lockers in the hotel and said it was fine, turn right when you come out of the hotel and a short walk up hill and you are on the slope, it was very icy when we were there so you have to be careful. We spent most evenings in the hotel just chilling, and there was plenty of room for all 14 if us. I would highly recommend this hotel and if we stay in pas again we will definately stay here. Thank you very much to Pierre, javi, Maggie and all the staff for a most enjoyable stay

Just returned from a lovely holiday at the Hotel Cubil. What a fabulous, warm, and comfortable Hotel this is. Friendly staff always smiling and happy to help. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious, we even had a bath to soak in after a strenuous day skiing. The lounge and dining room areas are very comfortable so it was nice to stay in for the evening and soak up the relaxing atmosphere of the hotel. The food is very good all freshly prepared. We all enjoyed the meals and was always a couple of choices on the menu. Its very close to the resorts bars and restaurants and not too far to the slopes. Thank you to all the staff for looking after us. Kind Regards The Darby Family.

I thought I had written a review for this after our ski trip in January but can't see it. However, I'm about to book our 2024 ski trip and as we're aiming to go back to Hotel Cubil again I thought it worth saying why we will be staying there for a fourth time. This is a family hotel so thankfully no rowdy guests or parties. Rooms are clean and well maintained. All the staff are outstanding and Pierre is an excellent host. Food is very good, probably the portions are a bit too large for me, but my skiing partner was more than happy! Pierre has a well stocked bar and I'd particularly recommend his taste in scotch whisky and the choices of wine for dinner. Breakfasts are particularly good and set you up for a good morning on the slopes. With the piste just a few minutes away the location is perfect and we're already looking forward to our stay next season.

Pros - Friendly staff, very clean, can store ski gear in lockers. Cons - WiFi exists only in lobby. Most guests find themselves crammed there during the afternoon and evening trying to saviour a few more bytes. One better not be sick during your stay. You'll have to lie in bed with no web.
