Crossbasket Castle

We stayed in the Mckintosh Double room. The room is vast in size with a massive bathroom. There is an oversized tub and shower. The room has a large wardrobe. The restaurant offers room service and the food is very good. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Afternoon tea was amazing, surroundings beautiful and staff just the best. For a treat it was second to none. The walks in the grounds are stunning, a lovely way to finish the afternoon. I would recommend this to anyone. Excellent for couples or families

Another visit to the crossbasket for family sunday lunch Again the food was of a 5 star standard The waiting and ancillary staff were 1st class even although the dinning room was packed All 4 maals were off a very high standard enjoyed by everyone.

The grounds of the castle and the accomodations are stunningly beautiful. The cocktails are amazing and the food is delightful. Our room, the Downie, made us feel royal. The views from the room of the gardens are really lovely. Overall, a wonderful wsy to crlebrate a special occasion,

We went as a group last year for Tea/coffee and scones and it was nice so 2 of us decided to go again. Last time the 6 of us had at least 2 cups of coffee each out of pots of coffee. Today my friend and I had 2 cups of coffee and scones and the waitress ran after me to try and get another £10 from me for the extra coffee. When I complained she checked in the kitchen and let us away with it. If we go again we will check what is exactly included (£10 for 2 x 3/4 cups of coffee is over the top)

It's such a beautiful venue and restaurant. I would like to go more often, and take a group, because it still remains one of my favourite places to go to. However, I haven't been for some time. I could be a fairly regular attendee, but I've a problem with the restaurant. I know it's a fine dining restaurant so one doesn't expect an all you can eat buffet. But their portion sizes are miniscule, for some things. To try and stay healthy, I ordered a fillet of the fish dish. But the fillet was just a very small section of the fillet. One side of the fillet must have been divided between around 4 pieces. So the one small fish seves, it seems, 8 people. Every time I have been I've often felt hungry afterwards, because of the portion sizes. As it's fine dining one hasn't complained at the time, or made an issue out of it. I'd love to return again but it means paying x amount for a 2/3 course meal, but then having cook at home afterwards because I'm convinced I'll not be particularly full afterwards. Or it becomes more expensive to try and bulk up with side orders as the main course will be so small. I've always received a first class service from staff. I would return but I don't think it'll be any more than a once a year visit, to experience the surroundings etc.

This place was wonderful! Breakfast was terrific, our room (Clark) huge and quiet, and service was great. We had dinner in the pub and, while a bit overpriced, was fine. The hotel is a bit out of the way, so having a car is helpful. We would visit again. Highly recommended.

1 year till our second family wedding at Crossbasket and we had an extended family meal in the restaurant. We’ve enjoyed the taster menu several times previously, but the new menu is simply brilliant and not being set opens up more possibilities. Choice, quality, and presentation are Michelin level. However the staff (Kostas and dining staff with Chef Kevin) and settings ambiance take it to a higher plain. As the only sober diner in a party of 10, it was a joy to experience yet it wasn’t Michelin prices. Looking forward to revisiting without driving. Proper old school opulence with the best French Martini ever (according to my wife who’s tried a few)

I wanted to treat my three lovely Aunts to Afternoon Tea. We were absolutely delighted with the venue and delicious food. The service was also excellent. It really was a 5 star experience. My two Aunts celebrated a birthday this week. Thank you for bring out cakes with candles for them - all unprompted. Nice touch.
