Beste Hotels mit Bar in Dover

Die Bar im Dover Marina Hotel ist ganz einfach toll. Rehan und Arun haben uns herzlich willkommen geheissen und uns ein herrliches Abendessen serviert, obwohl es bereits etwas spät war. Das Chicken Tikka Masala war wunderbar! Die Bar hat eine gemütliche Atmosphäre mit Blick auf den Hafen, ist ruhig und man fühlt sich richtig zu Hause. Unser erster Abend in England - so kann es weitergehen!

The booking email gives you the code to enter the area with the rooms and your own room but it doesn’t tell you that you need to press a star after you entered the code so it took us a while to work it out and to enter. The car park was full when we arrived and we needed to charge our car but another car was parked in the space for electric vehicles. It was owned by one of the employers so we had to ask him to move it. When we entered room number 2, it was FREEZING! The window had been left open and even when we closed it, the glass was so thin that it felt like it was still open. One of the panels of the blind was broken and hanging. We had to hang a blanket over the blind to block the cold air coming in. With a small radiator in the room, candles we brought from home and a hot shower on, eventually the room warmed up. The water pressure in the shower is very weak so it took me a while to wash my hair to get ready for the evening. We went downstairs for dinner and they were short of staff so it took ages before someone took our order. The food was not great. Chips were fried in old oil and the burger tasted very raw. The Camembert cheese was not melted properly. The breakfast in the morning was not too bad but the one piece of toast they serve was very hard. Again, short of staff in the morning. The coffee machine was not working properly and we had to turn it on and off to get a cup of coffee. The staff are lovely and they are trying their best…

Wie ich gerade feststelle, war ich vor genau einem Jahr auch schon in diesem Hotel. Und was soll ich sagen, es ist nach wie vor sehr gut. Die Lage ist etwas einsam oberhalb von Dover, dafür punktet das Hotel mit ausreichend kostenfreien Parkplätzen und einer ruhigen Lage. Zu den Fährterminals sind es ca. 10 Minuten mit dem Wagen. Es ist ein flaches Gebäude und alle Zimmer sind im Erdgeschoss. Aufgrund der leichten Hanglage gibt es ab und zu ein paar Treppenstufen in den Fluren - wer also mit viel Gepäck anreist oder Mobilitätseinschränkungen hat sollte ein Zimmer in den vorderen Teilen des Flurs anfragen. Richtig toll war das Personal: so etwas von freundlich und hilfsbreit ist selbst in England selten. Dazu im Restaurant auch noch gut ausgebildet und aufmerksam. Was will man mehr. Dazu ist das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis zum Abendessen mehr als gut.

Beautiful place to stay, Very modern clean room & bathroom, tastefully decorated, The bed was super comfy with lovely fresh linen, dressing gown & slippers were provided which is a great addition as many b&bs do not provide these, The room was cosy & had underfloor heating, The Staff were all friendly & helpfully, We booked a table for 13 last minute & even though the pub was very busy with people eating they accommodated us all, the service was spot on & food delicious all my guests commented on how lovely their food was, great job at such short notice, A beautiful friendly country pub in a lovely village with hill & counrty side views, would highly recommend as a place to stay & eat,
