The booking email gives you the code to enter the area with the rooms and your own room but it doesn’t tell you that you need to press a star after you entered the code so it took us a while to work it out and to enter. The car park was full when we arrived and we needed to charge our car but another car was parked in the space for electric vehicles. It was owned by one of the employers so we had to ask him to move it. When we entered room number 2, it was FREEZING! The window had been left open and even when we closed it, the glass was so thin that it felt like it was still open. One of the panels of the blind was broken and hanging. We had to hang a blanket over the blind to block the cold air coming in. With a small radiator in the room, candles we brought from home and a hot shower on, eventually the room warmed up. The water pressure in the shower is very weak so it took me a while to wash my hair to get ready for the evening. We went downstairs for dinner and they were short of staff so it took ages before someone took our order. The food was not great. Chips were fried in old oil and the burger tasted very raw. The Camembert cheese was not melted properly. The breakfast in the morning was not too bad but the one piece of toast they serve was very hard. Again, short of staff in the morning. The coffee machine was not working properly and we had to turn it on and off to get a cup of coffee. The staff are lovely and they are trying their best…

Great guesthouse to stay, Hayley and Deborah were absolutely lovely and super accommodating when we asked to drop off our luggage before check in time. The room was comfy and really lovely, with an ensuite which is what we were looking for. The house is really well maintained and looked after, great location and lovely staff. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and amazing portions too. Would have been nice to know in advance that there were going to be so many stairs to go up/down (we were in the top level - 2nd), but we managed without any issues at all. Can’t beat their prices, book directly with them to get the best rates. Don’t hesitate and book this B&B for your stay!

Hubert House was great. We were 2 adults and 2 kids in one room. There was ample space. The room had a couch, chair, fridge and desk area. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of hot water. The woman managing the house, Farrah, is amazing. We payed for laundry service, dropped off our clothes and left for the day. When we came back, she had all of our things cleaned and sorted. We came in late drenched from the rain. She handed us another bag for wet clothes and then washed and dried those. She left us snacks and breakfast since we were packing out the next day. It was one of my favorite stops in England.

Das Hotel liegt etwas abseits oberhalb von Dover am Rande eines Industriegebiets und eines Wohnviertels. Mit dem Wagen ist es super zu erreichen und es gibt reichlich kostenfreie Parkplätze direkt am Hotel. Das Zimmer war groß, sauber und mit einem guten Bett ausgestattet. In meinem Fall gab es zusätzlich zum Wasserkocher auch noch eine Kapsel-Kaffeemaschine. Und auch mit geöffnetem Fenster war es ruhig. Den großen Unterschied macht wie immer das Personal. Und hier waren ausschließlich sehr höfliche und motivierte Mitarbeiter im Dienst. Am Empfang viele Infos, auch mein Corona-Test-Paket wurde vor meiner Ankunft angenommen und überreicht. Das Abendessen im Restaurant lecker und die Dame im Service super nett. Das Frühstück habe ich aufgrund meiner frühen Abreise nicht getestet, die Frühstückszeiten sind aber sehr gastfreundlich von früh morgens (ich glaube 6 Uhr) bis spät vormittags. Fazit: eine sehr gute und in meinem Fall preiswerte Unterkunft nur eben nicht direkt in der Stadt.

Booked a single room, and it was nicer than I expected! The bathroom is very clean. I used the spa facility briefly. The staff were very helpful in getting me towels, bathrobes and slippers. Various fast food restaurants available 10 minutes walk away Dovercliff entrance is around 25 minute walk away.
