Let's start with the check-in. Since we got into Chicago early (9am), we had to wait till 2pm to check in. the hotel was nice enough to keep our bags for free. However, given it would be a walk around downtown for a few hours, we had to repack our backpack. unfortunately during the repack, one of our passports dropped onto the lobby floor. after an hour of panic, as we only discovered the loss at lunch, we got back to the hotel to ask if it was turned in. The check-in person basically just brushed us off by opening a couple of drawers and said he knows nothing. After we got into the room, we called downstairs (Guest Services) to ask for slippers (which they don't have) and also asked about the passport again and they again said no. our last ditch effort was just to give Guest Services our room number and name and ask them to call if and when it is found. Within 5 mins of the our call, a different person called up and said they do have our lost passport. A bit strange that a found passport is given much priority especially when the passport name matches our reservation name. Also at check-in, I overheard another guest was staying 2 nights and heard that they were told that for 2 nights, there might not be a room cleaning as they only clean 'every other day'. For us, we stayed 3 nights and there wasn't any cleaning attempted. I wish they would have told us of this arrangement beforehand and we would have priced this into our calculation. For the room, the carpet was quite dirty and had sticky wet spots on them. We had to place our bed covers down on the floor so that we don't get sticky feet. The A/C was working very well but it just wasn't well designed. There was only a single outlet vent and it was at waist level and blew directly onto one of the 2 beds and it was very loud and came on very periodically. To be fair, we never reported any of these in-room issues as we just didn't want to be bothered moving rooms. The laundry service was somewhat of a bonus as it is free. however, it is at a different location and there was only 1 washer and 1 dryer (for the whole of 2 hotels). Luckily when I wanted to do laundry, it was available. The washing was fine (around 25mins) but the drying was at least 90 mins. Guess when something is free, it cannot be that good. On final day check-out, we were given a late check out which is appreciated.

Dear Management, Our stay at your hotel was quite disappointing and uncomfortable, with experiences ranging from excellent to poor. On the positive side, the hotel’s location is unbeatable, just a few steps away from the Magnificent Mile and right next to the Red Line subway station. This made shopping, dining, and exploring the city’s attractions very convenient. The room itself was spacious, exceptionally clean, and the bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. We appreciated the in-room amenities such as the mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, which added to our convenience. However, the hotel’s management left much to be desired. Upon our arrival at around 4 PM on July 11th, the front desk staff repeatedly asked for my family name while holding my Canadian passport, trying to obtain personal information from my Chinese visa. This mistake led to another front desk employee calling us at 9 AM on the third morning to verify my identity with my passport/ID again. Most frustratingly, during our four-night stay, our room was never cleaned. There was a sign on the door that had "NO Thank You" printed on both sides, which was confusing. Even when we hung the sign outside, the cleaning staff would still knock on our door at 9 AM while we were still sleeping. When told to come back later, they never returned. Despite leaving the room at 11 AM and repeatedly informing the cleaning staff and front desk that our room needed cleaning, it never happened. Additionally, we ran out of shampoo. Despite informing the front desk in the morning, it wasn't replenished by the time we returned in the evening. This forced me to wait in the lobby for a long time to get the issue resolved after a tiring day of sightseeing. On the night before our departure, I went to the front desk to share our experiences with two staff members. They offered us breakfast as compensation, but we typically do not eat breakfast. Overall, our experience at the hotel was very poor. One of the main reasons for choosing this hotel was the Hilton brand, and this experience has caused me to question the brand’s reputation. The stay was nice but I got charged for $21 dollars of I don’t know what because we only slept there . But other than that it was good 👍🏽

I stay there regularly for business reasons. Occasionally, the AC can be loud for certain rooms, not all. Otherwise, the location, room environment, and people are great. My experience has been positive overall.

Loved the location and affordability of the hotel. My only complaint was the valet parking. It stated it would be about $44 a day, which is steep but not unreasonable when you don’t like parking in Chicago. Once we arrived, there was no valet service and we were told to park ourselves. We parked in the garage next door, which they recommended, and it was around $60 a day!!! So we lost more money staying here than expected. If we would have known valet was unavailable, we would have found cheaper parking somewhere else but when you arrive to a busy city late on a Friday evening, it’s not convenient to stop and search for parking. Other than that, the hotel wasn’t bad.

The renovation make the hotel feel comfortable. But the issue is they treat foreigners not very friendly.

Great location, 10 minute walk to the loop and right next to Grand on the red line. The room was comfortable and clean and service was professional
