We booked a 1 night stay at this hotel to celebrate our engagement. I wouldn't usually choose Torquay, and as we are lucky enough to live in Cornwall, I'd usually pick a spa hotel there. However, given it was the middle of August, all of the usual spa hotels we'd choose were either fully booked or extortionately priced. I stumbled across the Lincombe Hall and paid £320 for a refurbished classic room, which included spa access, parking, 3 course dinner and breakfast the following morning. Given everything that was included, I felt this was quite good value for money. Our room was comfortable and although the view was into someone's garden that didn't bother us too much. I liked the added touches in the room such as toiletries and spa robes. The air con was ideal for us as we both like to sleep with the window wide open which is always tricky in hotels. The spa is lovely, smaller than I expected, with limited loungers, but nice nonetheless. When we arrived, the weather was pleasant so we enjoyed the outdoor pool, jacuzzi and trying the cocktail menu. They do happy hour on a limited number of cocktails between 4 - 6 I believe. We both really enjoyed the evening meal. I had eggs royale for breakfast and thought this could have been better, we were both still hungry afterwards! The coffee was average. There's not much atmosphere in the hotel after 9pm, it seems everyone goes to bed! A lovely lady behind the bar suggested Elton's Piano bar down the road which was good fun. Torquay on a Saturday night is a bit rough around the edges so we didn't venture any further. Overall, we had a lovely stay but probably wouldn't return as we both didn't really enjoy Torquay at all and always like to try somewhere new. I would recommend this hotel if you're purely going to use the spa and hotel facilities.
