GGastnutzerThe best stay I’ve ever had in my entire life — and trust me, I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels and B&Bs. ;) The rooms are gorgeous, spotless, and super comfortable, with great attention to detail — everything I could possibly need (and more!) was provided. The bathroom even had a Dyson hair dryer, a Kohler heated automatic toilet, and a Hansgrohe faucet! If you’re not familiar with these brands, just know they’re the best you can get. The location is convenient for reaching downtown Datong and various points of interest… but honestly, these technical aspects — which alone would already deserve a 10-star rating — pale in comparison to the warmth and kindness we received from the B&B owners. My friends and I truly felt at home, pampered by Ben, the guy who runs the place with such care and attention to his guests that I’ve never experienced anywhere else (not even in 5-star hotels!). He and his sister picked us up at the station — both speak excellent English (which is not something you can take for granted in China) — and they recommended amazing local restaurants, must-see attractions, and even welcomed us with a lovely gift package of local specialties. For breakfast, Ben’s mother prepared a rich and delicious traditional meal, and for our train trip she even packed homemade bread for us to take along! Datong is a charming city, and if you visit, you absolutely have to stay here!!!

GGastnutzerThis hotel combines the convenience of modern high tech with the spiritual beauty of traditional culture. The rooms themselves are constructed around courtyards that give a sense of what life might have been like in Datong many centuries ago. In the lobby and in the rooms, murals decorate the walls with elegant designs of birds or flowers. The cabinets, bench, and floors made of wood and the countertops made of marble work together well and draw on design choices that are classicly, universally appealing. At the same time, the entire room is wired with the amenties of modernity. The toilet has a seat warmer and a light that turns on when you lift the lid so that you can find it in the middle of the night. Similarly, there seem to be motion-sensitive lights throughout the room that light up when you walk in the middle of the night so that you can find your way around. The water in the shower and the bathtub is able to get very hot (which I love!) and has high pressure. There is also a top-of-the-line hair dryer. It's the perfect blend of high tech and traditional amenities! If I have one complaint it's that the room was so hot that I had to open my window to let in the freezing air, and still the room was hot! That shows how effective the heating system is! The serivce at the hotel is also extraordinary! All the members of hotel reception are very friendly. And they send someone to your room shortly after you settle in to give you a platter of fruit, which was fresh and seasonal and artistically chosen it seems. They also have 24 hours service in case you need anything. My friend went into the lobby early in the morning shouting about coffee, and the staff came out quickly to make him a cup. The hotel is also very clean. The blankets, the pillows, and the sheets are as white as snow. The floors are free of dust and dirt and smudges. Everything in the shower and toilet room was scrubbed clean too. And the shower drains smoothly without pooling any water, showing how well it is maintained. Finally, the location is very convenient. You can see that for yourself by just looking at the map. But I would like to add that just outside the gate of the hotel, you can see the Prince's palace, which is beautifully lit at night. What's more, my favorite restaurant in downtown Datong (I think the restaurant is translated as BeiWei Family Garden or something like that) is less than 5 minutes walking from the gate. There are also multiple shops for buying vinegar or wine or shaji snacks. In less than 10 minutes, you can also walk to all the major commercial streets. I love the location of this hotel!

GGastnutzerWe took a 23-day trip through China, staying in 9 different hotels. Without hesitation, I can say that our stay at Floral stood out in many ways. First, the hotel's structure is very beautiful and has been renovated while staying true to the traditional style of the region. The hotel room itself was probably the most beautiful we had seen on our entire trip: spacious, with windows that actually opened, good air conditioning, and modern decor and furniture without being over the top. Second, the hotel's location is within the boundaries of the city wall and is part of the old town, so beautiful to walk around and see the traditional houses - many of them renovated according to the traditional style. And third and most importantly, the kindness of the people who work at the hotel. I have never felt so welcome anywhere on holiday as at this place. Unfortunately, I arrived with health problems and needed antibiotics - equivalents of the ones I had brought from Europe. I asked the reception where I could find the closest pharmacy, but rather than guiding me there, Xiao Liu, the lady at the reception, figured out for me which antibiotic would be the right one and got it for me. The same when we needed a suitcase, rather than sending me to the shop she inquired about our desired suitcase and in one hour it was there. Drinks are complementary at any time of the day, and the breakfast (Chinese and international - sandwiches) was generous and unlimited. When we were running late coming back from the grottoes and needed to catch a train, Xiao Liu helped us out by bringing us all our suitcases directly to the train station. We will never forget all these acts of kindness and we are still grateful to her and the entire hotel staff for making us feel so much at home. Datong will stay in our minds and hearts forever thanks to the people of the Floral hotel. Datong is special enough for all the incredible cultural sights you can visit - but our stay there will never be forgotten thanks to the beauty of the Floral Hotel and its amazing people. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

CChengxianliaohuaDas Zimmer ist sauber und ordentlich, kein Geruch. Die Dekoration ist klassisch und elegant und die Matratzen sind bequem. Das Badezimmer ist von Nass und Trocken getrennt und die Toilettenartikel sind komplett ausgestattet und durchdacht, wie Einweg-Badetücher, Mundwasser, Einweg-Toilettensitze usw., alles kostenlos. Der Service ist herzlich und aufmerksam. Da es in der Stadt liegt, ist es sehr bequem, die umliegenden Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants zu erreichen. Ich werde in Zukunft wieder dorthin gehen.

EE0590****Super schönes B&B! Es wird empfohlen, dass alle Touristen, die nach Datong reisen, dieses B&B in Betracht ziehen. Die Lage ist sehr praktisch. In der antiken Stadt können Autos in der Nähe gefahren werden und es ist sehr bequem, berühmte Restaurants im Internet zu erreichen. Der Laden ist in der Tat sehr sauber, das Zimmer, das Bett und der Innenhof sorgen dafür, dass sich die Leute sehr wohl fühlen und die Heizung ist im Winter ausreichend werden gar nicht benötigt. Die Verkäuferinnen waren sehr nett und halfen mir mit dem Gepäck. Sie gaben mir auch Kandiszucker und Schneebirne, was super lecker war. Das Frühstück ist voller Rituale, eine Portion pro Person, wenn nicht genug, können Sie mehr hinzufügen. Der Chef war sehr begeistert. Wir fragten den Chef beiläufig, ob er ein Auto gechartert hätte oder ob wir den Preis für ein gechartertes Auto wüssten Auto. Er ist immer auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden, kommen wieder.

Aber ich weiß nicht, was mit dieser Toilette los ist, man muss seine Handfläche darauf legen, um sie zu spülen 😂 Hygiene: Mit der Hygiene habe ich nicht näher geachtet, aber sie soll gut sein. Umgebung: Mir gefällt die Einrichtung des Hotels. Das Hotel liegt in der antiken Stadt Datong. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten der antiken Stadt können Sie zu Fuß erreichen. Service: Der Service ist im Allgemeinen gut und die Damen an der Rezeption sind sehr hübsch und freundlich. Obwohl mein gebuchtes Zimmer nicht groß ist, reicht es für drei Personen. Dieser Preis ist definitiv viel höher als in Sternehotels außerhalb der antiken Stadt, aber im Vergleich zu anderen Privatunterkünften in der antiken Stadt bietet es das beste Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wenn ich noch eine Chance hätte, würde ich mich dennoch für ein Leben in der Altstadt entscheiden, weil sie zu groß ist und es zu viel Verkehr gibt. Daher wäre es viel bequemer, in der antiken Stadt zu essen, zu leben und zu spielen.

GGastnutzerI was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries. The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included. The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride. My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room. The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily. If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn. *I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out. **I arrived in Datong from Beijing Daxing International Airport

JJames56Wir hatten eine glückliche Erfahrung, in diesem Hotel zu checken. Der Empfangsmann war sehr angenehm und hilfsbereit. Wir lieben unser Zimmer! Es war hell und glücklich und geräumig. Dusche und Drainage waren sehr gut. Die Lage ist fantastisch, nahe dem Bahnhof und viele Busdienste, vor allem für die Gräber von Yungang. Es gab eine Mall, mit einem Hypermarkt im Grundstück und Minimals um. Was wir am meisten mögen, war es eine Waschmaschine und Trockner für die Gäste zu benutzen, kostenlos! Wenn wir wieder nach Datong kommen, bleiben wir hier. Sehr empfehlen Sie diesen Ort!
