Zunächst einmal ist alles gut und reibungslos bislang. Es ist guter Service und die Einrichtungen. Aber leider fragte ich den Rezeption Service über das Problem mit dem Wasser aus dem Minikühlschrank und über Wasser auf dem Boden und bitte schnell reinigen. Danach ist es noch nie passiert, aufzutreten. Ich habe nur enttäuscht ☹️ darüber. Deshalb habe ich nur einen Stern über Reinigung gelegt! Ich genossen das Essen gut. Sicherlich, meine Gedanken darüber und ich möchte in einem Tag wiederkommen, weil es die beste Stadtblicke, die ich je habe. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

This was the first of 3 hotels we stayed at over 6 nights. It is an older hotel but has been maintained. Only complaint we were not able to control the a/c unit in the room. They staff does speak English and are friendly and knowledgeable. They have an excellent Breakfast buffest each morning with was included in our rate. The roof top looks like they might be doing some work on. but is accessible , provides a view of Barranquilla *( best to see at night the city lights) . The pool is on the 3rd level with a bar area also ( not sure of the hours for the bar) is a decent size.

Es ist ein sehr zentraler Ort, in der Nähe des Einkaufszentrums Viva, Restaurants und Apotheken. Die Service der Gastgeber ist warm und freundlich. Sie unterstützen Sie mit Informationen über den Sektor und die Attraktionen, die Nahrung des Buffets ist vielfältig und gut geschmackvoll. This hotel was completely disgusting, full of mould and damp throughout the hotel. The restaurant floor appeared not to have been cleaned for many months as the dirt was really ground in, the nets and curtains were also mouldy and filthy too. We had to change rooms twice due to the fact that my husband was struggling to breath due too the conditions. The gym was completely filthy and the breakfast was the same each day, and they did not have anything Vegan for me either. There was nothing nice about this hotel. The restaurant menu was dreadful, old and uninviting. The staff were slow to respond to any asks. The bath had obvious cracks in it, however they had just been painted over. This hotel needs a lot of money spent on it to firstly address the mould and damp issues. The replies to the reviews from the hotel stated that they were in the process of completing some maintenance work, almost 2 years ago, however this place has not been touched in any aspect for many, many years! AVOID THIS HOTEL IF YOU DON'T WANT TO POTENTIALLY BECOME ILL!! This hotel is down as a 3/4 star, but 1.5 at the very best. I have always been fair around my reviews, so for me to write this, it was absolutely dire 😔

Sehr schlechte Erfahrung. Wir reservierten im Herbst für das Karneval, um sicherzustellen, dass wir Unterkunft und Tickets hatten. Die Buchung war mit Annullierungsrecht bis zu einer Woche vor, etwa 3 Februar. Im Januar begannen sie mich zu berichten über Buchung und whatsapp (der Schriftsteller war zwei Leute, die nicht miteinander kommunizierten, also musste ich beide Chats aktualisieren), bedrohen mir, dass wenn ich nicht innerhalb von wenigen Tagen den vollen Betrag zahlen würden sie meine Buchung. Nach viel Druck entschlossen wir uns, ungern zu zahlen. Nach einer Woche setzten sie ein Gruppenchatt auf whatsapp (keiner gab ihnen Erlaubnis), störten uns mit Nachrichten mit dem Karneval-Programm und sagen, es gab Tickets für das Hotel. Als wir die Dame an der Rezeption angekommen waren, sagte sie uns, dass die Tickets weg waren, nach unseren Feierlichkeiten, begann sie mit sehr grausam und arrogant zu reagieren. Sie verbal angriff uns, dass wir die Fahrkarten zuerst kaufen mussten und dass es in diesem Moment nicht ihr Problem war. Nachdem wir zum Karneval gingen und sie versuchten uns sofort zu stehlen, müde von allem, gingen wir zurück zum Hotel (wir hatten noch nicht einmal den Raum genommen), wir baten um Verlassen und um eine Erstattung, da wir im Voraus gezahlt hatten, trotz der Tatsache, dass Die Buchungsregeln haben klar gesagt, dass wir annullieren können. Natürlich gab es uns keine Erstattung. Sehr schlechter Service.

Hallo! Erstens ist der Reiseberater, das Hotel von Hotelgäst zu bewerten. Ich war in diesem Hotel am selben Abend verblieben. Mein Erfahrung mit den Hoteleinrichtungen und dem Hotelservice ist über den Erwartungen. Auch als Bürger von Barranquilla wissen Sie, dass es Karnevalszeit war und Karneval ist eine Stadtveranstaltung, die national und weltweit anerkannt ist. Deshalb wird die ganze Stadt während dieser Tage überall laute Musik haben, bis spät Stunden. Und soweit ich weiß, Caranaval ist der Stolz von Barranquilla. Und so wie in der Nacht, was Sie hörten, war es NICHT GUNSHOTS, es war Feuerwerke. Ich wollte das nur klarstellen, so dass die Menschen nicht das Hotel oder die Stadt durch Ihre Kommentare beurteilen.

Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Hotel chain states that customer service is the most important thing—it is not. This lack of service was made evident at the start with Sergio at the front desk, who was not only sassy, but absolutely useless from a customer service standpoint. When plans changed and we needed to check out earlier, he proceeded to be unhelpful and tell me he could only honor the reservation for its entire duration. After discussing how often I had stayed at the GHL branded hotels and how modifying the reservation had never been an issue in the past, he went behind a closed door and came back offering a “great” solution: modifying my reservation to cut it from 9 days to 3 days for a higher price (and had modified it already without discussing any pricing with me. I kid you not when I say I spent 1 hour checking in trying to find a solution for both parties. Ultimately, Sergio told me the price wasn’t going to change and I would have to take it or leave it. The bed was incredibly springy and hard. Not comfortable. Room was standard. Not luxurious as website makes it out to be. One day for breakfast, I checked on their app which stated that breakfast ended at 10:30 am, and confirmed with an employee in the hallway at 10:05 am that breakfast went until 10:30 am, and then the lady at the breakfast location gave me a sassy attitude telling me that breakfast was over at 10 am and I could grab from what was left, but for my information it was over at 10 am. I tried to call the front desk using the phone in room to no avail over 5 times. When checking out, I called using the phone to have a bellboy come help with the bags, and no answer. I went to find help from the cleaning staff, who stated they had called down for me. No one came. I ended up going downstairs and asking Rafael at the front desk, who stated he would send someone immediately, but did not. I had to ask again five minutes after talking with him about my issues and he finally sent someone. During check out, I expressed the lack of service and the horrible experience to Rafael, who stated he recognized me from previous stays at the other hotel around the corner, GHL Collection. He stated he would try to help, went behind closed door and “spoke to someone” who told him that since Sergio and I had come to an agreement, there was nothing that could be done. When I asked to speak to the manager, he stated he would call him over and I waited over 15-20 minutes to no avail (when he was around the corner at the other hotel, literally across the street). When I asked for the general manager’s name, Rafael would not give it to me, stating he could not make that information public. As if it wasn’t the general manager’s job to address issues? He would only offer me the reservations manager’s name. I cannot express enough my disgust at the lack of service and care from these team members and their inability to help in any way. If you are looking for luxury as befits this chain (and other similar chains) in the US, you will be hard pressed to find it here. While a very nice hotel, it rates about one star less by U.S. standards. That said, I do think it is one of the better hotels in the city, and though I was not initially too impressed, my favor has grown in comparison to other disappointing hotel stays I've experienced in Barranquilla. The value is good for the price. I would stay here again as it is easily 1/4 of the price of the few hotels offering a higher quality stay. The rooftop pool was one of the draws for this hotel. Unfortunately, it was closed the night we were there. I think maybe they had just super chlorinated it because the water was slightly murky. It is a nice pool, though shallow, like all BAQ hotel pools. However, unlike many hotels in this city, the size of the pool did match the online photos. The room was large and the bedding was crisp and clean. The beds were more comfortable than the usual hard beds in Colombia. The mini fridge and the A/C worked well, as did the Wi-Fi. The room / floor was quiet. The buffet breakfast was good - not fantastic - but good. Several hot dishes, breads, muffins, juices, coffee, etc. The hotel is in Riomar, a nice area, but a bit far from the center of town...a good 4 or 5km away, which is a 20-25 minute drive. Easy for drivers to get confused with the GHL Hotel Barranquilla across the street, or the GH Hotel Barranquilla near downtown, or even the Hotel NH Collection Barranquilla downtown. The Buenavista Mall is nearby with eateries and bars, but it is not really walkable. A 20 minute walk in the heat of the day is rather far, and it's not very recommendable to walk too far at night if you don't live there. 6min ride. **Side note: Uber is not available in Barranquilla. Here, they use the app, InDriver. Taxis are cheap, though.
