Movich Buro 51

Had a free dinner for staying 2 nights, the only thing is that Pillows had a smell....

The check in process was quick. We were looking forward to staying here as we just came in from Cartagena staying with Movich and It was wonderful. Unfortunately, the Movich in Barranquilla is tired. We walked up to our room and the hallway carpets were filthy. We booked a suite and it was a bunker. It had one small tiny window, which Looked like it had not been cleaned in years. The furniture in the room was worn. Dead plants and broken floor tiles. When you looked out the window, you saw no view and it looked  into rusty old Air-conditioning units. We did walk downstairs and refuse the room. I will say I felt like the hotel handled the situation. They gave us a higher floor suite the manager and two additional staff walked to the first room and the second room and acknowledged that needed to be clean better. They comped a dinner. Over the next couple of days you saw an effort to clean the floors because we could hear them vacuuming early in the mornings in the hallways. I will say that this hotels food was excellent. It was the best that we had in our 14 day stay in the country.

Great place to stay. The staff was very courteous and the place itself and is clean. The breakfast was delicious as well.

Great hotel and great Spa. Probably top 2 or 3 hotels in Barranquilla city center area. Hospitality is a human skill and when it comes to service Movich Buro 51 gets it and does an amazing job. Kary in the front desk is absolutely amazing. I enjoyed my stay, and the room was great. The hotel is Very safe and parking underground and well guarded. The Lobby is at a higher floor accessible only by security guard help or your room key....ask for Kary she is amazing. Maria Jose massage was excellent and very professional. Breakfast variety was disappointing frankly for the kind of hotel it is. You will have a decent breakfast but basic....Colombia the land of most delicious fruits in the world but breakfast did not reflect that, at all...coffee however was EXCELLENT ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The young man managing the restaurant was very attentive to people needs both days I was there. I would suggest spoons on the table...it was weirdly difficult to find spoons and when I asked the server he gave me a wooden stick already on my table without knowing what I needed it for ( I had a yogurt in front of me...) The VIP Salon was a nice touch too! Rooms are great, nicely and tastefully decorated, spacious and very clean! I am a diamond member in Hilton but Movich Baru, thanks to Kary and others is why I will be back here and why I prefer Movick for sure. 4 stars for the hotel and 5 for service.
